About

Everyone's favorite Scottish nanny is headed on tour in "a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers" (The Hollywood Reporter). Based on the beloved film and directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. It's "the lovable, big-hearted musical comedy we need right now," raves the Chicago Tribune - one that proves we're better together.

  • OUTSTANDING performance!!! 👍👍

by Polly T on 4/25/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen many live performances in my 69 years of being a lover of live theatre. But NEVER have I paid hundreds of dollars to see a play twice in six days!!! This tour of performers blew me away!!! I saw it first as a Saturday matinee Christmas present that I asked for from my husband. He bought seats in the upper orchestra. I LOVED it so much that I wanted to take my 9 year old grandson for his 10th birthday so that I would be with him for his first live theatre performance. I paid almost double for the tickets on lower level (fantastic seats). I’m sad that it was their closing day because I would go a third time if I could!! Rob McClure is outrageously FABULOUS!!!! His energy is palpable. His talent unmeasurable and his ability to engage his audience is unmatchable. The cast are all beyond measure. I’ve seen many plays on Broadway and off and this one is definitely in my top 3 of best ever. That statement is about the performers and the production. No one cared that the backdrops were not perfect because what was happening in front of them was!!! Kudos to Broward center for bringing this one to us. BRAVO!!! 👏🏻👏🏻

  • Wow - what a performance

by KMT on 4/24/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Went with family to our first performance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and all of us were overwhelmed with the performance. As professional and on par with what we’ve seen at the Kennedy Center and Broadway. Excellent performers, singers, dancers, orchestra. And excellent help all around at the Broward Center. Perfect afternoon.

The lead Mrs Doubtfire was outstanding, funny, very well cast as his many talents really shone thru. Complemented by his wife, and real wife off stage. Congratulations to the whole cast...superb, costuming, dance routines and sets. Good luck.

  • A Must See...

If you are a fan of the Robin Williams classic Mrs. Doubtfire, this is a must see show for you. This show has a lot of the same scenes that were created in the movie and adds a twist to them making the live performance not only funny but captivating. Rob McClure takes on the impossible task of duplicate the Robin Williams character and hits a home run! The entire cast in incredible and you'll see a new twist to the Mr. Lundy and the Social Worker roles, the restaurant scene and the act performed by Daniel that catches Mr. Lundy's eye. Definitely a 5-Star performance all around.

  • EXCELLENT SHOW

by Sue I on 4/23/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

This show was excellent, very funny, very entertaining, good for all ages. I saw it in Florida and I hope it comes to Broadway (New York) as I will definitely see it again! Very talented actors, I can't say enough good things about it.

  • Good show but couldn’t have been shorter

This was a great show. I felt a few scenes could have been cut from it. Overall was good!

  • Amazing

by Dolphinkja on 4/22/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

What a great performance! And what fantastic performers!! My only disappointment is they need to upgrade the sound system. We were Orchestra L row 5 seats from Orch C row 20ish. At times you could not understand words. And quite obvious the sound was not balanced. All in all great show and great memories of the original movie!

  • Rob McClure is AMAZING!!!

by PHENOMENAL on 4/21/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Took my 86 year old mom to see this on Thursday evening. It was SO amazaing, I took my 62 year old husband two days later. We all LOVED IT!!! Talent all around. Super funny. Appropriate for all ages. Will see it again next time they are in town.

  • Excellent!

This show was so much fun. The guy who played Mrs doubtfire was INCREDIBLE! As was the girl who played Lydia. Wow. What a voice! The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is I thought it was a little long. But GO SEE IT!!!

  • Most memorable experience

The combination of dance, music, singing and acting was very well done. I enjoyed it more than the movie. The venue was great . I was alone but it didn’t matter because I was having fun. Thank you 🙏🏽

  • The Cast was all on point

by Johnny Rokett on 4/20/24Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great. Of course I had seen the movie years ago. Being Robin Williams, those are some HUGE shoes to fill first of all. Secondly, I was wondering how they were going to do hours worth of make-up changes in such short scene changes. PROBLEM SOLVED!! They had it all figured out. Hired the right actor, (I'm not sure if we had the stand in tonight) he was brillant, as was the entire cast. As far as make up, it was a latex mask! (Smart) The comedic timing. The children. The drama. The tenderness. All of it. It all rolled together perfectly. It was brought right up to date. I'd you enjoyed the old one or if you had never knew anything about it, you will definitely enjoy this, if you enjoy a feel good, funny story with some real life relatable situations.
