About

Everyone's favorite Scottish nanny is headed on tour in "a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers" (The Hollywood Reporter). Based on the beloved film and directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. It's "the lovable, big-hearted musical comedy we need right now," raves the Chicago Tribune - one that proves we're better together.

  • Mrs Doubtfire is a Great Show!

by Patty D on 10/15/23The National Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Mrs Doubtfire The Musical started with a great movie script and added fun dance numbers, songs and witty dialogue including some topical jokes. The audience showed their appreciation with lots of laughter, clapping, and a long standing ovation. The acting was superb, bringing the audience along with them. A great night at The National in DC.

The show was high energy, funny, immensely entertaining. The talent of the cast was fabulous. I was skeptical of making Mrs Doubtfire a musical and it was amazing! Kudos to the writers of the music and script! So much fun!!!!

My daughter and I attended together and had a wonderful evening. The cast and venue were excellent. Best off Broadway production I’ve experienced.

  • Fantastic. Isn't P.C. but who cares!

    by B.G. on 10/13/23The National Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Lead (McClure) is fantastic.rest of cast is great too ...very good voices and acting . Disregard critics. Yes , the movie was made before LGBTQ political correctness so some old stereotypes prevail ....but cut the production some slack for stocking with the original humor. Leading man/lady mcClure does Williams' Mrs Doubtfire better than Williams!

Our family loved the movie, so we were exited to see the play adaptation. My wife and I treated our grown son and daughter to the show and had a terrific time. The cast was terrific, and we loved every minute of it! Beautiful theater.

was not planning on seeing this show because i was unfamiliar with the movie, but i have seen Rob McClure in other productions and he is fabulous, so i was considering it for that reason alone. my roommate came home and said her coworker loved it and that we must go and so we went and i have never been more thankful for a recommendation. i love this show so much. i laughed so hard my stomach hurt. it touched me in emotional places i wasn’t anticipating. and the company, my goodness gracious they were EVERYTHING. the girl who played Lydia, my good god that girl can sing. Rob was hilarious and touching and moving as he always is. i wish i would have gone before closing weekend so i could have seen it more than once. cannot rave about this enough

  • Amazing, spectacular, original

by Alex on 10/3/23Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

The Mrs doubtfire show was amazing. While my wife and I were on the way to the show, I read a few reviews and a couple people mentioned the main star playing mrs doubtfire was giving Robin Williams a run for his money and initially as a huge robin Williams fan, I felt disrespected, that is, until I seen the performance. And WOW! Rob McClure knocked this out of the park and was happy to say he really did give Robin Williams a run for his money on performance of Mrs doubtfire. There's no doubt in my mind that Rob McClure was made for the spotlight as well and the cast working alongside him. Very excellent show! Rob and the cast deserve their flowers and respect for an outstanding performance.

  • Phenomenal! A must see!

by Jdee on 10/2/23Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Mrs. Doubtfire opening week at the majestic Shea's PAC in Buffalo! I couldn't imagine how they could turn the movie into a musical but WOW, it is amazing! It is fresh, current, and relevant for today's times. The cast are all superb and Rob McClure as Daniel Hillier is unbelievably funny, authentic, and non-stop! This show grabs your heart and doesn't let go. I loved how it appeals to all ages and has a great closing message of 'as long as there is love', no matter what type of family you have. The immediate standing ovation at the curtain pretty much said it all.

  • Uplifting and Uproarious Fun

by Pete on 10/1/23Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

Rob McClure is an absolute comedic genius! His timing and physicality in this role is nothing short of amazing. And the cast! Such chemistry and joy between all of them. The music is catchy, with a number of big show-stoppers and some incredible solos like "Let Go", sang by Rob's real-life wife, Maggie. I have NEVER heard an audience respond with such rapturous applause, cheers, and laughs. If you're a fan of the movie, I promise this won't disappoint.
