Overall, great value considering price of ticket. Middle act was the best & most entertaining.

    Mostly great experience

by asisson on 2/18/15Keith Albee Theater - Huntington

John Pizzarelli and Allen Toussaint were amazing! Unfortunately, the "party box" in the back of the theater was loud and obnoxious, and very disruptive. The Keith Albee Theater is beautiful though.

There were more acts than we thought. All were awesome. Thought Leeann Womack would sing more.

    A little out of control

by Vagojo on 11/9/14Charleston Civic Center - Charleston

Great show... Larry thought it was out of control but we thought it was right in line. Bring on more bands to the Little Theater.

    Sliding Home

by Nassium on 4/22/14Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

Great performance. Mountain Stage continues to bring the best acts to our town. Keb-bo does amazing work with slide guitar. Nice to see a National Resonator being used on stage. The other acts were equally good. The Dirty Dozen Brass band was a nice touch to the performances.

    I'll be back.

by Anonymous on 4/16/14Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

This was my first visit to Mountain Stage, but it won't be my last. I had listened to the radio broadcast several times , but the show is so much more enjoyable in person. Where else in WV can you experience a variety of quality musical acts for only $15 per person?

    Poor Sound!

by wvtrumpet on 4/16/14Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

The sound quality was deplorable to say the least!!! The mix from the sound board was really bad! The bass was way too loud, as was the acoustic guitar. The voice mic was not loud enough nor was the treble/bass balance of that mic set correctly. The sound engineer was really clueless!!!! The over all balance was also way too loud for the size of the hall and the amount of people present. It was a shame that such great acts were robbed of their Aesthetics due to a poor sound mix!!!

Was bearable, could use some talent. What could you expect for $15 a ticket, plus $7.45 in fees?

Wow, want a great evening of music!!!!!

by Macstudly on 6/5/13Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

Mountain Stage is the most incredible entertainment bargain ever!! For less than $20 you get to hear some of the most incredible collection of musicians ever. 2.5 hours of nonstop performances from new and established musical acts. All highly talented and unique. And when you attend the WVU venue you have a nearly accoustically perfect auditorium, comfortable seating, good views everywhere, its quite unbelievable that you can get this for the price. Go to Mountain Stage's web site and look up the headliners they have at each performance. They are more than worth the $20, much less all of the other musical acts! If they just served beer!!! It would be perfect! Ha Mike

Interesting, but not really what I wanted

by NewWave80sRule on 4/23/13Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

I have to be honest and I mainly went to see Billy Bragg, who was great. He was the final act. I wish he could have played longer. I didn't really know many of the other acts. Some were good. Some were way too country for me. But, I did get to meet Billy at the end of the show. So, I have to say I did get my money's worth. Also, it was a nice intimate setting. I got to sit in the front row and I was happy. I also have to say that for this particular location, I was really confused about the address. I was coming from out of state (pennsylvania). It was not that far, but I haven't been there before. They should have just said the Creative Arts Center instead of Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre. The street address for that location in my GPS simply didn't exist, so I was a bit confused when I got to Morgantown.

Any concert in this theatre is a treat. Sound is even and pleasant. Seating is very generous and comfortable. I always have a great time at Mountain Stage events.

    Why only 4 songs?

by baddog1948 on 1/24/13Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

I really enjoyed the show but was baffled as to why the main attraction, Robert Earl Keen, only sang 4 songs. Everybody else did at least five and Rhett Miller did 6. A lot of people were there to see Keen and many were upset.

Show was good but too many performers booked.

by 1202013 on 1/22/13Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

I attended the show on Sunday Jan 20 at 7pm. Seating was open seating, which seemed fair- first come first seated. We drove 3 hrs to attend the event. The sound was awesome- very few annoying vocal mic problems. I attended the show to specifically see Robert Earl Keen, who sang only five songs performing last in the line up. I have to say that I will not be back to see a show booked with that many artists / bands. I was also disappointed that the majority of the performers did not come out to sign... and therefore, chose not to purchase CDs / tshirts at that time. Venue seemed less viewer friendly- concession stand closing early, no intermissions without missing performers, and no schedule to anticipate the next performance. In the future I will look more closely at the lineup and choose more flexible venues.

A wonderful show at the Keith-Albee, Hntigton WV!

by Advobri on 11/7/12Keith Albee Theater - Huntington

The show on November 3, 2012 at the Keith-Albee theater in Huntington, West Virginia was amazing. The first act, Blue Wanting Red set the stage for a great evening, as the lead singer put his energy into everything. Nellie McKay added dry wit and a theatrical flare to the evening, while Spirit Family Reunion got the whole house tapping with their raw talent and sound that combine the lyrics of today with the music-stylings of the past. The Mountain Goats brought us back with a contemporary and introspective view point. Finally, Dr. Dog came upon the stage and raised everyone off their chairs with a genre-fusing display of energy and talent. To paraphrase one of Dr. Dog's latest songs, Mountain Stage "do(es) the Trick!"
