  • Great Weekend Getaway

by EB on 5/1/19Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 4 out of 5

Traveled from Lexington, KY, to Morgantown, West Virginia, to attend a live performance of Mountain Stage. They have live performances on Sunday Nights in either Morgantown (at West Virginia University) or Charleston. The music is always great and a lot of times I hear groups that I have not heard before. In My only complaint is that the sound could be a little better because at times it is difficult to understand the lyrics of songs over the music.

  • Amazing venue and performance

by Mudslugger on 1/23/19Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

Everything from the arrival to the final encore went perfect. Sound quality in the auditorium was amazing and the acts were all wonderful. Can't wait to visit the venue again and experience more of the talent they schedule.

  • Night of amazing music

    by lcampbe6 on 1/23/19Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

I have never been to a Mountain Stage show. I went for Gregory Alan Isakov (my favorite musician). I left with 3 new favorite bands (Mandolin Orange, The Brother Brothers, and Hush Kids). The only one I wasn’t impressed with was Elysian Fields. They seemed very out-of-place amongst the other artists. It was nice of Mountain Stage to include them, but they weren’t personally my cup of tea. That aside, it was a wonderful night and I would love to see another show!

  • Best yet!

Entertaining from beginning to end! Variety of performers were excellent! John Oates was a treat!

  • Great Show at Mtn. Stage

    by LisaMJ717 on 1/17/18Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 4 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the show at Mountain Stage on Sunday night. I especially liked Dan Tyminski's set, and I hope he comes back to WV again soon! I've never heard John Oates singing bluegrass and oldies! He did a great job too! Bill Lepp was hilarious! I always enjoy myself at Mtn. Stage every time I get to come to a show. Thanks for giving WV folks such great entertainment!

  • Lost Bayou Ramblers

    by Morgantown6 on 9/13/17Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

Mountain stage is a less expensive date than a movie, popcorn and a drink and five times better. All of the performers were new to us except for the Lost Bayou Ramblers. This was our second Mountain Stage and like our first one, all of the the performances were top notch. However, the Lost Bayou Ramblers were sensational. They got a standing ovation. We got to meet the Michot brothers after the show and they signed our CD jacket for us. We also got a chance to meet Larry Grose after the show.

  • Wonderful Experience!

by WVMountainGirl on 5/7/17Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 4 out of 5

First time to Mountain Stage but not our last! We had a great time and enjoyed each of the entertainers. Afterwards, I got on Youtube and listened to their other hits. Thank you, Mountain Stage for introducing me to singer/songwriters I didn't know anything about.

  • Margo Price does not disappoint!

by BeckySully on 3/1/17Charleston Civic Center - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

Larry Groce and his team put on amazing shows for Mountain Stage. I went to this show for Margo Price, but fell in love with Dead Man Winter and Johnny Fritz. That's the great thing about WV Mountain Stage...you go for one act, but find new loves in music all the time <3

  • What a Treat

by Nassium on 4/22/16Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

We are so glad that we had the opportunity to see Judy Colins. It was very uplifting to see her perform. David Lindley was a blast from the past. One of the many musical heroes that many have listened to but didn't know who he was. The rest of the show was outstanding. This is why we keep attending Mountain Stage every chance we get.

  • Great show

  • "Bout time I went to Mountain Stage!"

by RosieTerry on 4/20/16Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

Magnificent! The music was way wonderful, the performers extremely talented and full of fun and energy. The sound quality was the best we have ever heard at a live music event (and we have seen lots of live music!). Larry Groce is a terrific host and put a splendid show together. We were very well entertained and impressed with the caliber of this event. I have lived in West Virginia for over 30 years and seek out live music whenever I can and I listen to Mountain Stage on the radio but seeing the live show was really a thrill. The Terry part of Rosie and Terry lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia and he will take some great memories of this event (as well as some fantastic CD's) home with him. I will highly recommend Mountain Stage!

  • Mountain Stage worth the trip

    by Duffy55 on 4/20/16Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed a wonderful show on April 17th- a captivating singing cellist Ben C , rousing Brothers comatose, Michael Cerveris and Kimberly Kaye w Loose Cattle with a lovely lullaby waltz, David Lindley's assortment of instruments and stories, topped off by Judy Collins and Ari Hest - it was musical bliss!

  • Amazing. One of best concert experiences.

by RUNNINWITHTHEDEVIL on 4/20/16Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely phenomenal. Could not believe how quickly 3 hours passed. Not a bad moment the whole night. Immense talent, excellent song choice and the live story telling only possible in a live performance.

  • The sound man can kill you.

by AudienceCleanHouse on 4/20/16Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 3 out of 5

The performers were great, but I couldn't understand the lyrics. The sound was muffled. When I attended Mountain Stage last summer in Elkins, this was not a problem. The sound was sharp and clear. I have attended several musicals at CAC and this was not a problem.

Blitzen Trapper brought down the house. The other bands were all great too. Mountain Stage is an awesome way to discover new artists!

  • An evening at Mountain Stage was music to my ears

    by 1Waz on 4/15/15Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 4 out of 5

It was fun to be a part of the Mountain Stage concert. Varied artists, but all so talented. The price of the ticket was a pleasant surprise which allows many people to enjoy. The venue at WVU was great. I would suggest drink concessions; this could be a huge money maker and it's enjoyable to have a glass of wine or beer while enjoying the music.

  • Eclectic mix makes a fun night.

    by 1pittsburghdad on 3/28/15Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - MorgantownRating: 5 out of 5

5 artists, 3 hours, 15 bucks. You could not go wrong. I saw musicians and heard music that I'd never listened to before. I came to see The Drive-By Truckers and discovered the terrific Spanish Celtic bagpiper Carlos Nunez. Most of the artists were at the merch. table and were easily accessible to fans.
