    Most disappointing experience!!

by Mike G on 12/17/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Troop was fair, venue was filthy, and hot. I can not imagine a reason I would revesit this venue!

by Laura D. on 12/17/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The Nutcracker preformed by the Grand Kyiv Ballet Company was beautiful and very well coriagraphed. This is the 2nd performance I have seen by them and I have enjoyed both emencly.

    A lot of fun

by Snowmn on 12/17/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The performers and set design were excellent. My only wish was for there to have been live music with an orchestra. Other than that, a very enjoyable evening.

    Amazing

This was an amazing show. I took my mom and my nana and they loved it. I can’t wait to take my kids.

    Nutcracker

by JoAnn on 12/17/23Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

Magical experience! We had great seats and great service. Only wish we could have purchased souvenirs. My grandchildren always look forward to buying a nutcracker and an ornament, this year they were not selling any.

    Beautiful but

by Chase Paradise on 12/16/23Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

The Nutcracker was beautifully performed. The expensive seats had obstructed views. I felt for the price the view should have been better. The venue had too level of an auditorium. I also would have preferred the use of all backdrops and characters. I’ve seen this performance before in another city, a bigger city, and I felt that because it was performed in Albuquerque it was lessened. As I stated, the ballet was well done but all other aspects could have used improvement.

    Slightly different, but still wonderful!

by Hobo on 12/16/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

We bought tickets to take our exchange student from Italy who had never seen the ballet before. Although the second half was a bit different than the traditional ballet, we still loved it-- the music, costumes, and length of the show! The only complaint was that it was hot and stuffy in the Ovens Auditorium Mezzanine, and the tour merchandise booth was out of our student's size in shirts. Hopefully she can just go online and get the one she wants.

    To hot

by Tiffany on 12/16/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The Nutcracker was amazing. The costumes and the dancing was superb. I’ve never seen it before so this was a first for my family. It wasn’t my cup of tea but for those that it is, those guys are very talented and worth the money. As for Ovens Auditorium, we were on the 2nd floor and packed in like sardines. That’s fine; I get it. But the heat must have been up to the mid 80’s. My husband was dripping sweat, I was tempted to take off my sweater since I had a t-shirt on underneath. And the entire 2nd floor was fanning themselves with the Nutcracker booklet. It was to enjoy the ballet whilst being so hot.

A great Christmas time story and performance

by Kat on 12/15/23Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

This was my first time at a ballet and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The costumes, dancing, and characters were clearly well choreographed. I could tell that the dancers enjoyed their craft and came through in the storytelling. There were great feats of flexibility, fast footwork, and apparent artistry. If you go to a performance at the Kiva theater, be aware the civic plaza underground parking garage connects to the convention center which was helpful. It was difficult to find out seats due to us arriving slightly late and the labeling on the seats being less than apparent (they turned off the lights 2 minutes after we got there). I also was not aware that seats close to the stage could be obstructed; my 5 year old was not able to see without kneeling on her seat, which is just a life lesson for me. Apparently there were also programs but I looked at intermission and couldn't find any even after asking security (who were agitated that I asked). While the theater experience was not great, the performance made up for the experience as a whole.

Too much expensive, for what is

by The dancer on 12/15/23Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

The concert started at 7pm, but until almost 7:30 nothing. You could only enter through the door of 2nd street, they didn't open the entrances at the other doors so we had to turn around, even with my friend in crutches. Two food and drink stalls for everyone was not enough, a long wait for some extremely expensive soft drinks. Our tickets cost us $60 each, we were not badly placed in the middle of the audience, but the music was extremely low, so we couldn't enjoy it. They sell it as a real event, when for us it was like going to our children's performance at school. Because of the prices at which the tickets were, I thought it was very poor. In a center like the one they celebrated it, it could have done much more magic, both in decoration, and in everything.

    Amazing talent bad venue

by Sally on 12/15/23Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - Albuquerque

This venue is for corporate meetings and ted talks not for ballet. New Mexicans lack culture and theater etiquette. Men didn't take their hats off do it was hard to see behind their cap bills. People including workers kept walking up and down the isle so half the show was ruined for those sitting near the isle because people were in line for alcohol instead of taking their seats prior to the show starting. Someone smelled like weed and wore a dirty hoodie to the show. The performance was spectacular, but we cant have anything nice around here because New Mexican have zero class.

    Wonderful Holiday Show, Terrible Logistics

by Erin on 12/14/23Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

The show was fantastic. My kids 9, 8 & 6 really enjoyed it. The Fox Theater is gorgeous but the logistics management was awful. There were lines snaked around at at least 3 different door all moving very, very slowly. We were 20 min late getting into the theater despite arriving 30 min prior to the show start time. The line for the women’s bathroom was also chaotic and confusing.

    Disappointing

by Disappointed on 12/14/23Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Overall, a disappointing experience. When the curtain went up more than half of the audience hadn't sat down yet, so the first 20 minutes of the performance was disrupted by people moving around and the same happened after intermission. The performance itself wasn't noteworthy, more a pantomime than a ballet. If you love the Nutcracker, you'd be better off finding an actual ballet company who is performing it as this was completely lackluster. There were a few highlights like the acrobatics, but overall not worth the money and effort to get there.

    Disturbing

by Someone far away on 12/14/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

I loved the show but couldn't really follow it due to a constant, and i mean constant without a stop throughout the entire show, people getting up from their seats, walking off and walking back to their seats. We paid so much money for this and i couldn't enjoy it. Sometimes they would not leave immediately after getting up and just stand there and talk and block the view. We don't have a lot of money and something like this is very special to us. I felt that for some, this was a casual, lets do something on a Sunday night type of thing. I also believe that some families just bring their kids or who ever to the show, and they are not really interested in it, and think, yeah why not walk around because this is as boring as an old shoe. The show was great, if I only would have been able to see the entire thing without having to worry about who is going to get up the next minute and block the view.

Not traditional nutcracker story, and not worth the money

by REM on 12/13/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Not the traditional nutcracker story, which made the storyline in the second act particularly odd. Nice set design, and well-made costumes and props. Dancing by the “ professionals” was okay (not awesome), but the dancing seemed better in the second act. Overall, the show was not spectacular as advertised, and I am sorry that I spent so much money on the tickets. Will not attend again.

    Fabulous

by Sandi on 12/13/23Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

Aside from soo many people in the wrong seats and not seated till about 10 minutes after the curtains went up, it was very entertaining. Costumes and dancing were fabulous. The children dancers performed like professionals. We had a great time.

    Disappointing

by GrannyK on 12/13/23Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

First, trying to watch the beginning of the Ballet when people were rude enough to keep coming in and trying to find their seats after it started. This was needless to say very frustrating. And listening to people crunch food and drink during performance. Secondly, this was not the traditional Nutcracker Ballet, and didn't realize this until after the ballet got going! The performers were good, but missed seeing the traditional story of the Nutcracker! We won't be coming back to this venue, especially to see a ballet.

    Amazing show!

by Elli on 12/13/23Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

The show and dancers were amazing? Great performances from everyone. It was hard to see some because I was sitting behind a lady with a tall headband. A change I would recommend is that no headwear should be worn in the theatre. Ticketmaster was great at handling tickets and I had no problem purchasing or scanning the tickets. 10/10 recommend this show to everyone.
