    No purple rain here

by Bummedintwp on 12/13/16INVESTORS BANK PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Sewell

The show started off promising, the crowd was good and the opening acts were good. Morris Day began entertaining and then the show mysteriously stopped. No prince songs, no explanation. A big let down. Morris Day also thought he was in Philadelphia...

Enjoyed the whole concert; LOVED Morris Day!

by Lcdub on 12/13/16INVESTORS BANK PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - Sewell

The show was so much fun! The Philly group, Acoustic, played first and sang classics like New Birth's Wildflower, EWF's Reasons, and of course, they sang a Prince song...Diamonds and Pearls! Being a huge Prince fan, the latter almost brought me to tears. Carol Riddick's performance was also beautiful...she has a powerhouse voice!! She too sang a few Prince songs in addition to her own. Lovely woman, FANTASTIC voice! And then...there was Morris Day and the Time! They performed many of there classics, and Morris was just down right hilarious! I don't know if the crowd was simply too old or too tired, but I was a little disappointed in how stiff they seemed. Apparently, some were even offended by some of the more sexualized moments on stage (which wasn't really that bad!). I felt the band deserved a better crowd, but I enjoyed myself nonetheless!

Very misleading. This was sold as a prince tribute and it wasn't.

    Cameo disaster

by MaDukes770 on 6/1/15Pompano Beach Amphitheater - Pompano Beach

Before now, I was never really a BIG fan of Morris Day and the Time, but I have to admit, they rocked this show. The major disappointment on so many levels was Cameo. I WAS a diehard fan of Cameo, but after this event, I will never in this lifetime pay money to see them again. I understand Larry Blackmon was sick, and the mikes weren't working, but he could've at least came back out and took a bow, said good night, waved,....something. He attempted to perform a couple songs and disappeared for the remainder...then to make the situation even worse, the rest of the group did a couple more songs and LEFT!!!! Really???? Never again for me and many of the other patrons I heard complaining on the way out. I'm done. But thank you to MD and the Time...the show started almost an hour late, but Morris did his thing. I was impressed. Cameo needs a rest....a permanent one.

Morris Day was great, Camoe wasnt

by Anonymous on 6/1/15Pompano Beach Amphitheater - Pompano Beach

Morris Day put on a great performance. The sound was clear and everyone had a great time. Then Cameo came on. The microphones didn't work at all for the first 2 songs, then when they did, it was only 1/2 the sound of Morris Day. Then Cameo said he was sick and his voice was terrible. Very disappointed

    Morris Day still got IT!

Even without all of the original members, Morris Day and The Time still rocked the house!

    The Time

by dujohn on 6/1/15Pompano Beach Amphitheater - Pompano Beach

The Time was awesome, Morris Day was in full effect. Cameo's sound crew needs to check themselves, 5 songs into their set, they finally got the sound right. After the song "Candy" Larry Blackman never returned to the stage, he said he had a cold. I think the sound crew got on his nerves. The good thing, Cameo closed well. I hope Larry is feeling better.

    Morris Day was wayyyyy fun!

    by GolddustTwin2 on 7/14/14Chene Park - Detroit

He didn't miss a beat, neither did the new generation of "Time!" It was a party from beginning to end. Fully "owning" his "old school" tunes and embracing his predominantly "old school" crowd. My favorite moment was when Morris asked "sexy" women to come to the stage. They were a self-defined, diverse group "sexy" women - old and young. Morris described "Sexy" as a state of mind!" Soooo true. Such a statement honored all women.

    Morris Day & The Time

    by Hampton318 on 7/9/14Chene Park - Detroit

This has been one of my favorite show bands since the first time I saw them in 1981 in Ann Arbor, MI. Being a bass player, Morris brings the funk that is nasty!!!! Plus, there is a show there with steps, accents, and dynamics. Never a dull moment, which I really like! I practice to all of their material with steps while playing bass, and I have caught just about all of their shows here in Michigan....and I will catch future shows as well. What a tight band!!!

    Morris Day concert was forgettable

by coolken on 7/6/14Chene Park - Detroit

He was more concerned with his line up of ladies from the audience than singing his songs.

Concert was great Morris Day and the Tyme put on a great show. Both open acts were good. I enjoy concerts at Chene Park in the summer.

Morris, after 30 years, still made the night COOL

by Anonymous on 7/5/14Chene Park - Detroit

The crowd was energized by the performance of Morris Day and the Time. The view of stage was good, the sound quality was just ok, but the atmosphere felt safe. The concession stand service was slow since a burner was not working, but once the food was received it was good. The two opening acts, including Larry Lee's band, was a good complement to the show, however Morris after 30 years still made the night C-O-O-L!!! I guess I'm now officially a part of the older crowd, LOL ; ) Overall the event was fun!!! P.S "I miss Jerome : ( "

Absolutely awesome. Morris Day still has his coolness! He and Steve Harvey are the best dressed men in Hollywood.
