Too many acts with excessive amount of down time. Acts performing for 20 minutes then waiting 30 minutes for the next act. Morris Day would have put on a great show if he had time. Zapp was fantastic, but again no time. Prefer 3 or 4 good acts instead of 7 mediocre acts. The DJ was pretty good. I did enjoy a fun weekend with some girlfriends.
The groups that preformed was great but the amount of time it took for each set up was very disappointing. I understand that with the groups having their own band that it would take a little time to do the set up changes but honestly each set up should not have taken at least 45 to 50 minutes which started to kill the vibe of the show. Plus the headliner "Morris Day" did not even have enough time to perform which was very disappointing. Even though he apologized for not being able to complete his whole set that was the whole reason why I booked this particular show for my hubby as his birthday gift. Overall it was a great show and it was great to see the artists I grew up with still had the voices.

I loved everything about the music of the night when the groups were playing. It was awesome! My score of three stars is not about the music. Since there were 8 acts, they each only got to perform around 15 minutes and that was disappointing. The there was 20 minutes between each act while they transitioned the stage from one group's gear to the next. We spent way more time waiting than jamming. That was very disappointing. This also caused the show to run 2 hours longer than it was supposed to. The timeline they set was very aggressive and arguable unattainable. Morris Day came to the stage 2 hours later than he was supposed to and I am sure he was miffed to see about a third of the crowd had already left. If they're going to make a tour of this event they're going to have to work out the transition piece. I did stay until the end BUT I was exhausted and there were many, many times I came close to leaving early.
My wife and I finally had the opportunity to attend an "Old School Concert" that included some of the great RB groups of the 70's and 80's. Unfortunately, we had to travel from Pittsburgh Pa to Nashville, (because Pittsburgh sucks when it comes to these type of concerts). Never the less, we were disappointed in the time it took in- between group sets( usually 30 minutes or more) and that's probably the reason each group only sang 2 or 3 songs. In particular, Morris Day's set lasted probably 30-45 minutes ( at best) and he was the supposed "Headliner"! Zapp was the star of the show (I seen them in Pittsburgh). I'll give more thought to attending a show that has 6 or 7 groups because we felt cheated we didn't hear our favorite songs!!
We will be there every time he performs!!! Morris Day puts on a great concert!!!
Morris Day, Jerome, and the Band, were energetic and cool. Some much fun and audience participation. Good atmosphere. Worth every penny. Loved it!
Morris and the Time still know how to get the crowd on their feet
They keep the music rolling. Very enjoyable! I also loved that there was multi-screens for a close up look.
I've always wanted to see Morris Day and The Time in concert. This was my first time and I was not disappointed!!! He had us in party mode the entire night!!! The venue at the Morongo Casino was great. It was intimate and you could see the stage well. I also enjoyed that they had a great TV screen for you to see as well. I wish that they would have offered snacks and not only drinks. The staff was very friendly. Morris Day and his band showed up and showed out! I only wished that they would have played longer.
