About the Monster X Tour

The spectacle of motocross meets the brute force of monster truck mayhem in the Monster X Tour, where some of the most famous monster trucks perform stunts and compete against each other for the coveted Monster X Championship. Since 2009, such legendary names in monster trucks as Traxxas X-Maxx, Equalizer, Red Solo Truck, and the one that started it all, Bigfoot, have entertained in stadiums and arenas throughout the United States and the world for the Monster X Tour. Motocross bikers, demolition derbies, and other sideshows complete the program, contributing to a memorable night for all spectators. Monster X Tour events have taken place mainly in the Western US and worldwide, with a show in Hawaii in 2019 and occasional shows nationwide.

Monster X Tour History

Monster trucks first became popular in the late '70s and early '80s with the arrival of Bigfoot, a souped-up Ford F-250 modified by Bob Chandler. After making public appearances at tractor pulls and county fairs, Bigfoot began the monster truck tradition of crushing automobiles in 1981, establishing the iconography of an entire sport and becoming part of American popular culture. The Monster X Tour first began in 2009 and immediately established credibility with the presence of both Bigfoot Racing and Straight Up Racing. Traxxas RC racing sponsored the tour from 2016 to 2018, first as the Traxxas Monster Truck Destruction Tour, and then as the Traxxas Monster Truck Tour.

Monster X events feature several monster truck competitions, including wheelie contests, races and freestyle competitions, which allow these giant machines to do such incredible stunts as hill jumps and even backflips. The tour culminates each year with the Monster X Tour World Finals. In 2019, Ty Cornelius Jr. rode Paul Breaud's Traxxas X-Maxx truck to victory, winning the Monster X Tour championship with an average finishing score of 41.83 points out of a maximum 50.

    Pretty not bad

    by L. D. on 5/9/19Aloha Stadium - Honolulu

Was awesome to see monster truck return to hawaii after 20yrs. But sad that they didnt go all out on the first day. I know they probably tried tonsave the trucks for the second night. But the die hard people are the ones that made the one night show sell out. If there was two shows planned in the beginning i woulda bought for the second day knowing they would go bigger. Sad because noticed in peoples posts that the second day the upper levels never have spectators. I know the second day was an afterthought when the first day sold out. But maybe they coulda considered friday before for the second show. Or they coulda went all out the first night and the second night woulda been what it woulda been. Regardless it was a fun night. Just a little disappointing. Really hope they will return again.

    I'm still tripping out

by AtomicTrain on 5/9/19Aloha Stadium - Honolulu

40k on the first night, 30k on the second night, this event was awesome for Hawaii. I noticed that there were a lot of outer island residents coming to Oahu for this show. Overall, the facility was well staffed. Parking lot was fine. Food was reasonable. The end show traffic needs a bit of work though. Would I attend again? "Yes!" Monster X Tour put on an awesome show. Very entertaining. Good job to all riders and drivers.

The event was awesome! Drivers spectacular and great show. The venue was lacking as they ran out of dood and could have been more organized with entry/exit plans.

    It was ok

    by L on 5/8/19Aloha Stadium - Honolulu

When we first bought the tickets there was only one night (Sat) and it was full then they opened a second night. First night trucks did alright but seemed like they were holding back because they had a show sunday night. To me that not right. Not what I expected out of the show. Only 1 truck did a back flip, one truck broke and did not come back out, one truck only ran in the freestyle but sat in the line up all night. Then watching all the videos of sunday night the trucks went all out. 3 trucks did back flip, the truck that only did the freestyle ran hard the next night. Totally different show. Not Cool! If you add a night and are going to hold back for the last night then add the night ahead of the main night. I Recommend Grave Digger next time.

Fun night for Hawaii with the return of the MOnster trucks! I think that because we had 2 nights that they held back a lot the first night and didn't want to break down. the 2nd night they went all out

Amazing!! We missed this type of entertainment

by LiL on 5/8/19Aloha Stadium - Honolulu

Thank you for bringing this back to Hawaii. We used to take my sons to Tractor Pulls and Monster Truck challenges before and now for my grandsons to have the same experience and seeing the little ones faces is something to remember. Please continue to bring this type of clean family entertainment for all to enjoy.

    Monster X Tours

by HS on 5/8/19Aloha Stadium - Honolulu

The Monster X show was great. I wish the tickets we bought was cheaper because we didn’t get to see the motorcross event clear because there jump was set up going to the opposite direction.
