About NASCAR Cup Series
The NASCAR Cup Series is top-tier of three national touring series in the sport alongside the Xfinity Series and Truck Series. The Cup Series operates with a points system. The driver sitting atop the leaderboard to finish the regular season earns 15 playoff points. The Cup Series playoff features the 16 highest-scoring drivers competing through four rounds. A winning driver and winning owner are annually crowned separately.
The Cup Series season runs from February to November every year. NASCAR relocated its Championship Weekend from Homestead-Miami Speedway, which hosted the event for 18 seasons, to ISM Raceway near Phoenix, Arizona.
Iconic tracks that host Cup Series races include the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Talladega Superspeedway. The Daytona 500 has annually served as the season-opening Cup Series race since 1982.
History of NASCAR Cup Series
The NASCAR Cup Series was founded in 1949 by Bill France Sr. and has undergone several evolutions since. It began as the Strictly Stock Series before switching to the Grand National Series (1950-71), Winston Cup Series (1971-2003), Nextel Cup Series (2004-07), Sprint Cup Series (2008-16) and the Monster Energy Series through the 2019 season.
NASCAR opted against renewing with Monster Energy and instead announced the Cup Series would feature a multilayered sponsorship model in December 2019. Busch Beer, Coca-Cola, GEICO, and Xfinity were named as "premier partners."
The trophy was renamed the Bill France Cup ahead of the 2020 season, the first without a title sponsor since 1971.
Richard Petty is the winningest all-time Cup Series driver with 200. The octogenarian notched his first win in 1960 and his last in 1984. In March 2019, though, Petty was surpassed by Kyle Busch in terms of all-time combined national series wins.
Jimmy Johnson topped the Cup Series from 2006 to 2010, marking the first time one driver had won in consecutive years since Jeff Gordon (1997-98). The late Dale Earnhardt did so on three separate occasions (1986-87, 1990-91 and 1993-94).
Really enjoyed being at the race instead of watching on TV. The only thing I could say negative is that the race should have started later in the day due to the high temperature.
Food and drink prices are outrageous. Forgot sunglasses and sunscreen, I'll pay for that the rest of the week...
Seats were good, view was great. Only thing that would have made it better would have been for one of my guys to win.

This was our first time at the North Carolina Roval, and I have to say, we were blown away at how awesome this track was. We can't wait to return. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and accommodating. We went there with high expectations, and left feeling like the Roval had exceeded what we hoped for. From meeting our favorite drivers and a few legends, for any fan of NASCAR, who hasn't been, North Carolina is THE place to be. Give yourself a little extra time and visit the museums, and the accessible Race Shops in the area, it will enhance your experience. Go for it, you'll be happy you did.
I had such a blast going to Charlotte Motor Speedway with my papa, and cousin, we stayed at a really nice Airbnb maybe 20 minutes from the track, (that was super nice and modern btw), then we drove to Lowe’s to get a grill, and grilling tools, and we also went to Walmart to get food to cook for after the race (since we tailgated after the race was over. But the track was freaking huge inside and out, not to mention the service and food they served at the track was 10/10. The race was a blast, from the first lap to the final lap with the burnout at the end, (we also got to see Jason Almandiger in the stands and pat him on the back after seeing the burnout), then we built the grill, and tailgated after the race was over so we could skip all the after race traffic. So yeah 10/10 experience, first time visiting Charlotte, and also first NASCAR race I’ve been to up there (hopefully more in the future 😁👍🏼).
It was a great time. I recommend getting the track pass and walking on the track and signing it. Also seeing the driver introductions up close. The race was exciting to watch

It’s been years since attending a NASCAR race living in So Cal I was a ticket holder for Fontana the first five years. Four + hours for a race was just too long for this fan. My interest returned to Indy, F1, and NHRA. That said, this was an incredible live racing event, I was glad our vacation coincided with this event and reinvigorated my enthusiasm. The bumper to bumper racing, lead changes and speed doesn’t translate on TV. Charlotte is the home of NASCAR and the Roval is worth the trip…you won’t be disappointed! It was great to see the Dinger win against the best.
though i expected a oval race, to be my first nascar race, the roval was a great race with the many corners, i enjoyed a good race without too many chrashes. the entertainment was fine too

Tickets were digital,no problem downloading.Nascar event was great.Parking was more expensive this yr.$30 ,last yr $20 Great seats,Pre show good with air show
We had excellent seats. It was easy to get into stadium with our tickets.
Charlotte Motor Speedway is a great place to see a race! The facility is nice, even though the food selection and quality is quite poor and quite expensive! But the race itself, after the national anthem, and the fly by by vintage air planes, and the parachuting people bringing in the American flag, it was all just amazing! So glad we made the trip to see you this NASCAR race!
Seats in the Clubhouse area were all we could hope for. Great views, food, fans and an exciting race. Congratulations to the winner and the rest of the drivers and teams
It was awesome. Would definitely recommend ticket master made it easy to purchase everything I needed and the speedway staff are awesome. Will go back for sure!!

It’s been a while since I have been to a race, so I was glad to be back. It was my 1st road course and my seats wer awesome.
