Wow! quick review: THE BEST BROADWAY SHOW YOU WILL EVER SE

    by Dr. Soul on 12/26/21

quick review: THE BEST BROADWAY SHOW YOU WILL EVER SEE IN YOUR LIFE! wow! Wow! WOW!!! As a kid growing up in Manhattan I have had the privilege of seeing so many legendary Broadway shows and musicals. This one is unlike anything you have ever experienced before. The energy is electrifying as you enter the Neil Simon theatre. You know you are in for something you haven't experienced but have been dying to feel. The energy from the stage, from the music just speaks to your soul. This is more than a musical. This is an experience! This is a moment! This is Iconic! The cast and crew have done a phenomenal job in capturing a magic. You can tell they all love their career, their roles in this production and have put their blood, sweat, tears, heart and soul into this. Bring tissues, whether you are a Michael Jackson, The Jacksons, Motown, or not because their are some extremely emotional parts that are relatable to anyone who has struggled, had family issues, who wasn't supported when they needed it most. FOR SURE bring tissues if you are a fan of Michael Jackson's or The Jacksons or Motown. You will need it. I would also like to say the Neil Simon Theatre staff is extremely well organized, health checks and mask checks throughout for our safety. For those that have accessibility issues, this is NOT an issue. The staff is 100% accommodating so your loved one doesn't have to stand in a long line (just have your vaccination app/id ready - used the NY app which is easy to download and to upload information to). My seat was row BB (which is front row) we were center as well. I do want to see it again from different positions. Sound was amazing! The performances were memorable. Songs were those well known and those that are for the fans. The mixes were beautiful (ex: price of fame & Tabloid junkie & money)

    Absolutely Amazing & Emotional

    by Bean on 12/13/21

I've loved Michael since I was 8 years old. Shortly after he passed, I became obsessed and in love. I literally had a 3rd grade themed Michael party. Since then, my love has grown by the day. The minute my best friend and I saw this show, we purchased tickets. In my life, I've probably been to over 60 Broadway shows and this show was unlike any other. I've never been in a more electric, reactive crowd. A man in front of me was literally getting up the entire show in the middle of a song and dancing and singing. I didn't hear a peep from people around him to sit down. He was in way, representing the inner child in us... So excited and thrilled to be there that he couldn't sit still. He didn't want to sit down. It was one of the most magnetic, emotional shows I've ever been to. I'll never forget the cheers and screams heard at a particular scene of the show, the roar of the theater for over a minute straight. A whole standing ovation. It was amazing. Looking around and basking it in, I felt like I was seeing Michael. I know everyone felt it too. I was probably one of the youngest viewers in the audience at 21, but I felt so connected to every person there. Every person felt the same way as me. We all had a love and a passion for the man or the music, or both. I will absolutely never forget this show. It will go down as one of the most insanely moving and beautiful Broadway shows I've ever seen. I hope you go to see it. And I'd also like to add that the stage design, the costumes, the actors themselves.. INSANELY accurate and talented. Blown away. The first song of the show my mum audibly gasped and looked to me with wide eyes as she said, "he sounds just like Michael." It was truly a night to embrace the sparkle that is Michael Jackson.

Will definitely see this show again! Went to see this with my 10 year old grandson, my Dad, husband and 30 of our 149th Street Family members and we all had an awesome time. This show brought back so many of our childhood memories. The performance was excellent! It’s a must see!

    Great show

    by M. S. on 12/12/21

Myles Frost gives an excellent portrayal of Michael Jackson as a perfectionist, his dancing is the best I've since Michael himself, his voice fits his songs very well.  Quentin Earl Darrington plays Joseph Jackson and doesn't hold back. Choreography is  the  best I've seen in a Broadway show. All in all a great show, worthy seeing multiple times.

    KOP aka MJ The Musical

    by MPz Beatz on 12/11/21

Well worth the hype. The absolute best play I’ve ever seen. All the actors did an EXCELLENT Job. Flawless performances and singing. The Band was AMAZING nailing every song with precision. The screenwriter needs to be nominated for every playwright award out there. I’ll going seeing this play 2 more times (Feb and March). To sum up everything is 3 words…. OUT FREAKIN’ STANDING !!

    Beyond Amazing!

    by Brooklyn Syd on 12/10/21

I went to see MJ the Musical on the first night, December 6, 2021. I actually purchased tickets three times, due to COVID. But as the saying goes, the third time is the charm. The cast, the music, and the sets were absolutely fabulous. Myles Frost as the oldest Michael (there are three), embodied the character of Michael and owned it, from his mannerism, facial expressions, singing, and of course all those MJ moves. This is Myles Broadway debut! The show setting takes place during the rehearsal for the “Dangerous “ tour, with flashbacks woven throughout the show. This show was tastefully done and I believe, it tells us the true story of Michael Jackson, minus the media smears he received later in his career. I have already purchased tickets to see it again, that’s how much I love it. If I love a play, I make it my business to see it as much as I am able. I definitely smell Tonys for this play. I highly recommend seeing this play, it is new, refreshing, insightful, and above all, keeps you throughly engaged.

    BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS!!!!

    by SelinaK on 12/10/21

This was the best musical I have seen in a LONG time. I didn't know what to expect, and it actually turned out to be a complete STORY with emotion, drama, love, loss, pain and joy. The actors and singers were STELLAR. At one point everyone was crying during a pivotal scene with Little MJ, and another point -- The Thriller portion, you could hear a pin drop. What a beautiful look into the life and story of MJ. There were THREE standing ovations during my viewing of the show. THREE. At one point people just stopped sitting down. A tour de force. Definitely worth a watch and rewatch! I'm taking my family next time!!!

    Fantastic Show

    by Pinky on 12/10/21

Great show overall, does justice to Jackson's true character, with stellar choreography and acting and visually stunning set designs. Myles Frost shines in the lead role so do the other actions playing Joe Jackson, Katherine Jackson and little Michael.

    Best show ever.

    by M. T. on 12/10/21

If I could give this show 100 stars I would. No exaggeration. The acting, singing, dancing are all prime category, it's clear the actors playing Michael studied him to a T. The sets are beautiful, Smooth Criminal section alone is Tony worthy. Michael Jackson , for a sake of change, is portrayed who he really was, a sensitive, dedicated professional who tried to overcome his father's brutality with love and compassion. Must see!

I'm definitely going to experience it again for sure.

I’m usually skeptical of any portrayal of Michael Jackson since no one can seem to capture him well, but this was amazing!

    A Blast From The Past

    by Sehnsucht on 12/10/21

This absolutely felt like a time machine to, say, 1991. The minute attention to detail, excellent choreography, as well as immaculate singing -- these facets are just a short list of all the elements that this meticulously made musical brings to the table. If I had to be fair, I was quite skeptical at first -- producing MJ musicals is invariably a tall order, and there's a noticeable tendency with regard to total failure, but this masterpiece is certainly an exception to the rule and made me eat my shoe. Last but not least, the prices are absolutely bearable, which is, of course, an aspect I ought not to neglect.
