Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama is no stranger to the public eye. The Chicago native maintained a highly visible presence throughout husband Barack Obama's two terms as President of the United States, and was comfortable in any situation: serving as an international ambassador, visiting schools, or moving and grooving at a Beyoncé concert. Like other first ladies, Obama is also using her post-White House time to make a difference in the world. A galvanizing speaker known for her down-to-earth delivery and real-talk approach, she embarked on a book tour in support of her 2018 memoir, ‘Becoming,' with appearances full of storytelling and conversation.
About Michelle Obama
Born in Chicago, Michelle Obama grew up in a loving household that prioritized family and education. Accordingly, she holds an undergraduate degree from Princeton and a law degree from Harvard. Although Obama did practice law—in fact, she met future husband and President of the United States Barack Obama while working at a firm—she also held multiple private-sector jobs. Most notably, she was the founding executive director of the Chicago branch of Public Allies, a nonprofit focused on cultivating leadership in younger generations.
As First Lady of the United States for eight years starting in 2009, Obama continued to seek out socially conscious causes that benefit the greater good. She championed women's rights and education for girls; became a vocal supporter of military families and spouses; and promoted healthy eating via multiple initiatives, including the "Let's Move!" campaign to decrease childhood obesity. Since leaving the White House, she's continued to be an outspoken advocate for gender equality, education, and political diversity. More recently, she released her second book, the 2018 memoir ‘Becoming,' which follows 2012's New York Times best seller ‘American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America.'
Michelle Obama and Oprah sat and talked for 2 hours and it felt like 15 minutes. It was amazing to have them in the same room discussing life and Michelle’s new book. I laughed, cried and felt completely rejuvenated when I left.
This was an amazing experience from access to the parking lot to the seating and listening to Oprah & Michelle Obama, definitely a night to remember!
I like that we were made to fill like we were girlfriends talking around the table about out our shared experiences.
What an EPIC moment to have the opportunity to see two powerful women in my lifetime on the same stage. Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey are the essence of grace and wisdom. I absolutely loved their conversation on how to carry the light within. The vulnerability Michelle displayed in her book and her conversation gave us access to see the transformation of such an EXTRAORDINARY woman evolve and become who she is purposed to be. I have never seen Oprah so it was a pleasant surprise to have her on the stage with Michelle Obama. I loved the show! I love the banter between Michelle and Oprah. I love the comradery between these two women, makes me happy to see that. If they ever need a commoner please look me up. Love them together.

The moderator was great (Oprah) and Michelle was very open and funny too. I appreciate her being transparent.

Michelle Obama is a Black Queen of Truth..no hiding who she is or what her thought of reality is. She is engaging with alot of true Love of the Truth. Bringing all walk of Life and Color together.
After having to forgo seeing this, sit down because of the pandemic, getting to go, this time was truly worth the wait. Mrs. Obama, talking about her experience and her life and the president her kids everything was truly an uplifting and amazing experience. It was unforgettable and unbelievable I am honored to have been a part of it.

Mrs. Obama always delivers and never disappoints! Her message is so timely given all of the changes we are going through as a nation. I am more inspired more than ever to "go high when they go low." She continues to motivate me to be my best.
Every word she spoke touched my heart. The times that she spoke about fear and anxiety and how she learned to deal with them in her life gave me insight and hope that I can conquer these feelings too. When she talked about the importance of friendship and how she has developed her kitchen table, I realized that I had only just begun to form a real friendship that will be a committed and lifelong one. It was also fun to hear her make funny remarks about disagreements and uncomfortable moments with Barack. She showed all of her humanity. I left feeling exhilarated. I can't wait to read her book and to hear the podcasts.
We had front row seats and were there very early. Michele Norris who interviewed Michelle Obama was also excellent.
I flew out to San Francisco, just to see our incredible First Lady. I was not disappointed. As always, she was brilliant, wise and gracious. I highly recommend her book and seeing her if she is in your neighborhood!
Wow is all I can say! Absolutely loved this event with Mrs. Obama. What an honor! This venue was great and the entire event was wonderful from beginning to end. I’m so happy I was able to attend. I also appreciate the organization provided by YouTube theatre for exiting the venue - quick and efficient.
I thought I would never have the opportunity to see Michelle Obama live at the Masonic but I did score two tickets as soon as they went on sale. I sat in the balcony with a friend and we were amazed at how absolutely thrilling it was to see Tracee Ellis Ross as moderator with Mrs. Obama! Their chemistry was full of fun shared experiences, stories, personal challenges and insights that I will remember all my life. The auditorium felt very intimate….the experience was priceless! I have a copy of “The Light We Carry” and I will relive those precious moments. I am grateful for celebration!
