What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • Great venue, but you cook in some seats

by Rob H on 3/24/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Great venue. Great tennis. It would be great if the venue had better signage as to where which courts are where. The signage kind of tucked. Also it would be great if the stadium seats were advertised as having full shade, partial shade, or minimal shade and priced based on shade offered.

  • Wonderful tennis, good seats!

by DDPp on 3/24/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

We went to the Miami Open. I had never been before and it was fantastic! Weather was good, seats were good in the stadium and tennis was excellent!

  • New Tradition Unlocked

by Hosely on 3/24/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The Miami Open was an absolute blast! The whole stadium was buzzing with activities and attractions. There were tons of food options, all spread out across the stadium and grounds. And guess what? There were multiple tennis matches happening at once, making it easy to find a spot to watch or even sit in the stands. This was my first tennis event, and I’m already planning to make it a yearly tradition!

  • Great tennis/average venue

by Shp on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Tennis was great. But the venue experience was poor: - bad direction of cars into the parking lot - overvigilant security taking water bottles and snacks when the website said you could bring in 1 liter water and small plastic bag of food - ridiculously over priced food (hence why they take your snacks) We are paying enough for the tournament- display some hospitality.

  • First Time Miami Open

by The Rad on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Great experience and set up. Will definitely comeback again. Food and drinks are on the expensive side. Besides that, A plus. Saw a lot of players o seen on TV. Great job organizers!

  • Big event with easy ticket purchasing

by Pat Rodrigues on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Using Ticketmaster for the Miami Open event was an excellent experience, the website is fast, with clear information and the reminders close to the date make it much easier.

  • Great Fun!

Lots of tennis at the Open. Beautiful and clean venue! Great players, food and location!

  • Organization deteriorates every year

by Claudia on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

From charging for sitting in front of the outdoor screens (!?) to oversold parking, poor traffic management of cars and people, a last minute court change for Fonseca's match on the first Saturday and an unforgivable scheduling of no less than three simultaneous matches of Brazilian players on day 1, it's clear that Itaú and event management don't know how to cater to the very relevant Brazilian audience.

  • Fun tournament!

by M from PA on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

This is the 2nd time we've attended. Saw so many high level players and several excellent, competitive matches even though it was only round 1. To the organizers....have more water bottle filling stations....it was HOT!! And, put larger signs, up high so you can see them for the side courts. We only saw one map on-site and the program pamphlet with maps was basically useless. Otherwise, great tournament!!

  • Miami Open is Awesome

by F. Pagiola on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

An awesome event. We’ve been here in 2024 and 2025, and the event is even better at all. Is easy to buy tickets, to park, to access the location and enjoy every game in all courts.

  • Great place for tennis fans

by JKruger on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The Miami Open was a great experience. A little bit far to get there from Miami, but the courts were impecable and the stadium fantastic. Nice view of the game even from the 300s sectors. The food court, shops end big screen outside the stadium were pleasant. Lots of fans, great atmosphere, was my first professional tennis game and I can’t wait to get back!

  • Great place to enjoy tennis

by Alex S on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Beautiful landscaping, giving you nice feeling of south Florida. Convenient food location and variety. Plenty of toilets and water fountains. The only reason I gave a 4 stars because I had a hard time to find courts location. There are no sign to show which direction is court #1 or court number #9 and so forth. Couple times I was asking staff member about court location and they pointed me in a wrong direction. But it's a minor inconvenience. All in all it's a great place to spend with family.

  • Thumbs down for the organizers

by WZ on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

The event itself is good. Easy to park and good atmosphere. However, my family and I had a horrible experience on Saturday (March 22). The organization scheduled a match we all wanted to see In one court (grandstand) and then changed last minute to the big Stadium. Conclusion, we were already waiting in line for a long tim, we had to pay extra to get into the stadium and there was a mayhem to go through the gate. We had really tough situation with my kids , they were scared and also my wife was scared. We have been going to the Miami Open since 2010 and will think twice next time.

  • Expensive and crowded

by Tennis Fan on 3/23/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

This is a very expensive, crowded, and hot venue. There is very little shade on outer courts and they charge $6 for a bottle of water. Very few water fountains and they are not cold. They sell a lot of grounds passes so it is very crowded. Most of the top players are there, so if you are good with crowds, heat, and have plenty of money, you will enjoy it.

  • Great time at the open, except for parking

by Mike H on 3/22/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Parking delays at entry to yellow lots are ridiculous, very disorganized.

  • Matches at the stadium was lopsided

by Tam on 3/22/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Weather was good and the seats were comfortable. Not much variety for eating.

  • Enjoyable

by Speedy G on 3/22/25Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The Miami Open was my first professional tennis match experience. I attended the first round night session matches along with one of my close friends. The grounds were exceptional. The parking team, ushers and concession staff members I interacted with were exceptional. The players showed desire on the court and the fans also helped cement my positive experience. I plan on purchasing tickets to next year's event. I would recommend this event to others.

  • Transport or lack thereof

by RDChin on 3/14/25Rating: 2 out of 5

I always enjoy the tennis matches and Hard Rock has done an excellent job of creating a vibrant, Miami style atmosphere. However, Bianca said it best, lack of reliable public transport , such as a shuttle to the stadium for people coming from Kendall or even further, is a turn off.

  • Worst seats ever!!

by Glo MC on 7/1/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

We expected a great experience and got the total opposite because of the $350 each, seats that Ticketmaster sold us! When we chose our seats at purchase, it didn’t say or showed that they were right behind some kind of metal fence that blocked half the view of the court! They shouldn’t offer those seats at all in the first place. Very disappointing!!

by Trish on 4/12/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed my experience at the Open. The facility had good viewing and I attended more than one day and sat in different locations. The staff was well informed and very professional. The grounds and stadium were very clean. My only complaint was that the information on line lacked some important information. There was no mention that this venue was credit only and that there were few water fountains available to those who did not bring water with them. I would be interested to know about area hotels, especially any that may be walking distance and/or that have public transportation to the Open. I had a great experience and will be back next year.
