What is the Miami Open?
The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.Â
The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.
Had a great time and will definitely go back next year. Everything is pretty expensive so bring lots of money!
Stadium is not in good condition and everything is much worse than US Open. If you are a true tennis fan, US Open is the better choice.
Wonderful experience, I' m used to come every year, this year was the best of all, I recomend all fans to come and know the new stadium and everything ... I live in Brazil and it' s very worth come and know the new complex... Congrats to the organizers đđđ
I absolutely loved the new venue! Ticket prices were very reasonable. The venue itself had amazing options for food, drinks and relaxing between matches. We went several times. Highly recommend it!
Kudos to the developers and tournament director, James Blake for putting on a great âshowâ. To have launched this venue is such a short time frame, felt it was a great job done. Easy maneuverability around, plenty of restroom facilities that were kept very clean by the service staff. Suggestions ... more food trucks would offer more variety of food. More seating scattered around the grounds would be nice and helpful. Staff assigned to keeping grounds pass holders from sitting in reserved seats had an impossible task! We had five seats in the grandstand (14/10/10-14) ... if one or more left, we had to constantly tell people NO! Too many rows for one person to handle. Perhaps dedicate one of the less desireable sections to them ... or more staff per aisle.
The stadium is very nice. The courts are easy to get into. There is good space for walking. But, turn down the music! The music from one court is heard too far away. Also, some of the rap tunes are not appropriate for children to hear, or even some adults. Also, the food stands need more signage with what is being served and the pricing.
Great tennis. Loved watching the players play. Had to wait in lines for certain matches for almost 1 hour; then courts were changed at last minute due to prior long matches. Seating on only one side of courts on many courts. Facility was great but need more stands surrounding all courts. Food was very expensive.
My seats were terrible, I wouldnât by those seats again, far from everything Not a good experience
I want to start by applauding the move to the North Miami location. The ease of getting to the event doesnât waste a bunch of time. We did not like the setup of the main stadium. Using the original stadium seating does not work well and I wouldnât purchase seats there again. Also, the in-stadium concessions did not work for this type of event. Food was not available quick and half the time not at all. Never had so much difficulty getting popcorn.
Parking access and overall space at the venue much improved over Key Biscayne. However, disappointed that the scheduling hasn't improved ! All doubles matches scheduled for Court 4 cancelled. The one doubles match that everyone wanted to see (Zverev brothers) was scheduled on the smallest of courts with seating for very few. People queued for hours to try to get a seat, whereas large courts e.g. Court 1, had singles matches featuring lower level players for which there was little interest.
The tennis village they created was awesome but seating to view the tennis action was limited on the outer courts. Hopefully next year they will add more seating on the outer courts or a lot of fans wont go back!
More elbow room, more food courts, and lots of courts. đđ
The overall experience was good. A lot of outer courts & practice courts to watch tennis. The main stadium was comfortable also. I didn't see any water fountains for drinking or refilling bottles, however. Visitors shouldn't be obligated to pay exorbitant prices for water if they want to drink.
As usual the Miami Open has a temendous atmosphere, but at that time the logistics needs improvement. The routes werenât not signilized enough to help us to move thru the venue. All other items were good enough to give us a good time.
The event does NOT feel right. It is NOT dedicated to tennis...The main court is a mish mash of aluminum installation....they certainly tried their best though. The outside courts .... not enough seating. The grounds are beautiful with lots of food offer. Difficult to find shade.
Miami Open Tennis Tournament at the Hard Rock Stadium was a fantastic experience!
Wonderful facilities since the Park lot, amazing locations, huge stadiums, only negative point itâs very expensive everything food and beverages and tickets, but itâs ok for tennis lovers
The Crew at the Hard Rock Stadium did a good job setting up all of the courts. Place has a nice look. Not hard to navigate. Plenty of rest rooms. The big board with the scores was mostly useful. A list of matches and courts was provided. Itâs not as fan friendly as at Key Biscayne. When the players practice one canât get close. And it would be simpler if the practice courts had one long stands as opposed to one for each court. The food was a problem. The Taco place shut down in the middle of lunch and two of the other places ran out of food so there were long lines at the other places. I think more small food places would be useful instead of the Champagne and beer stands. They were empty the entire time. All in all a nice day at tennis.
Need official Uber/lift pickup. Total caos, long lines, heavy traffic for a day with lots attendance. I honestly don't look forward to the rest of well getting in and out of there. Remember people Uber to these events so they can drink and not drive.
first time attending the Miami open and it didnt disappoint. the grounds are much better than US Open in NYC and i love to watch players practice
