About

Metallica was formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and singer/guitarist James Hetfield in Los Angeles in 1981; since then, their astonishing career milestones include winning eight Grammys and selling over 125 million albums worldwide, including the critically-acclaimed Master of Puppets (1986), often cited as one of the most important metal albums in history. They are also one of the most popular and commercially successful touring acts in history — according to Pollstar, as of 2019 Metallica had sold over 22 million tickets and grossed $1.4 billion in touring since 1982. Metallica’s fifth studio album, Metallica (1991), famously known as The Black Album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and features some of the band’s biggest hits: “Nothing Else Matters,” “The Unforgiven” and “Enter Sandman.” On six consecutive genre-defining studio albums (from 1991’s Metallica through 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct), Metallica has consistently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In support of their 2023 album 72 Seasons, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will see the band playing two nights in every city they visit throughout 2023-24.

    Venue that oo big!!

    by Shafiq on 8/30/23

I get that Metallica has a huge fan base but the venue was just too big (SoFi Stadium). On the first day of the two day concert, I could not make out any lyrics - just an echo of some familiar music. At one point I had to concentrate to know what they are playing. The venue folks tried for sure but it’s just too big. I actually walked out on the first day.

Classic Metallica. Amazing sets. Better SoFi sound.

    by Josh on 8/30/23

This concert was amazing over the two days with all my bucket list songs covered! There seemed to be sound issues day 1. I also didn’t understand why the SoFi screen wasn’t incorporated into the performance, nor in-house SoFi audio system- some spoken words were hard to hear and without use of big screen, it created a disconnect for us situated on level 5 and above.

    Great show sound sucked

    by Kenny on 8/30/23

Metallica crushed as always but the sound at the Sofi was horrible. Bad acoustics and set up. Heard every other few songs clearly but mostly muffled noise which is disappointing but not the bands fault. More the venue set up.

    No thanks..

    by ... on 8/30/23

Section 445. Decent seats... sound was horrible!! Double the travel time due to traffic. Won't be traveling all the way to Sofi for a concert again..

    Sofi stadium sucks

by Sofi Stadium sucks for concerts on 8/30/23

Dont waste your time Ever seeing a concert here. Parking is $100-$125 and it is impossible to get out of the stadium after. Takes avg 2 hours to leave. They cone everything off. Dont bother trying to be picked up either unless you want to walk 25 minutes to the nearest target.. but remembering you have to walk in the city of Inglewood so it's not the safest. Getting into the stadium was a fiasco. Not once were we prewarned that we couldn't bring in purses. We were escorted out and told only clear bags were accepted and we had to pay money to check them in. Also the stadium chairs are meant for someone who is 130lbs or less. You have no space and the arm rests are curved instead of flat so be prepared to be squished and uncomfortable for 6 hrs of music. Also found it strange that the restrooms dont have mirrors and the porta pottys in the parking lot were overflowing with urine rivers everywhere. WILL NEVER RETURN

    Outstanding

    by A fan on 8/30/23

Wow these guys still got it. Night one was great, but night two they came out and knocked your teeth down your throat. Amazing show. Still the heavy metal kings

Band was great-won’t return to this venue

    by MFan on 8/30/23

The bands were great. Metallica always puts on a good show. The venue was not so great. The sound was distorted, I couldn’t hear the voice of the performers. The sound did not carry well. I also expected the food to be expensive, but it was superbly awful. The cheese sticks were cold and the chemical cheese on queso and chips even looked the wrong color. I will definitely see Metallica again, and Pantera, but I definitely won’t be returning to this venue.

    Why

    by Chowbowla on 8/30/23

Why was the sound system at SoFi turned off. If the sound system at SoFi was turned on and plus the speakers that Metallica brought, it would have sounded way much better!

    Best concert experience

by Steve and Yesenia on 8/30/23

This is hands down our best concert experience. from the ease of ticket handling down to the experience in the snake pit at Metallica, this is easily the best experience for both of us. The only complaint I would have is that the first night we didn't know check in times, black box location, perks, etc. so we were somewhat lost. we were supposed to receive an email with these details (others got it) but we never did. The second night was better because we already knew what to expect. Even met Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters/Nirvana) definitely a night we will never forget

Great Band, Great Set List, Terrible Venue

    by Ken S on 8/30/23

The band: 3rd time seeing Metallica and they were fantastic. The different set lists each night really packed a punch. They played for about 2 hours and 15 mins straight both nights with no breaks. The venue: SoFi Stadium is a amazing, breathtaking venue.....for a football game. The sound was absolutely terrible for a concert, parking is super expensive ($50-$100), and getting in and out of Inglewood is really difficult with all the traffic on the freeway and side streets. I've decided that I will avoid SoFi for future concerts. There are too many other really great concert venues in So Cal that place a higher importance on the customer experience when it comes to sound quality, parking and ease of entry/exiting.

Best Show on Earth💥 Metallica for President

    by S.R.M. on 8/30/23

Took my Son, a buddy and his son. We all had the best time. I was there for Metallica and Pantera. Loved all the bands though.

Great show. Sound. Not so much

    by Gary on 8/30/23

Metallica will always be Metallica. Leaving it all in the stage. Great atmosphere, lighting, pyrotechnics, effects. Just that the sound was not the best. And this is no fault of the band. I’m guessing the arena is more of a Spars arena with acoustics coming in a distant second to the visual aspect.

    2 bands, 1 bucket list

    by Dmteadazer on 8/30/23

Never thought I'd see Pantera live and had to see Metallica once before they stopped touring. Epic night.
