About

Metallica was formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and singer/guitarist James Hetfield in Los Angeles in 1981; since then, their astonishing career milestones include winning eight Grammys and selling over 125 million albums worldwide, including the critically-acclaimed Master of Puppets (1986), often cited as one of the most important metal albums in history. They are also one of the most popular and commercially successful touring acts in history — according to Pollstar, as of 2019 Metallica had sold over 22 million tickets and grossed $1.4 billion in touring since 1982. Metallica’s fifth studio album, Metallica (1991), famously known as The Black Album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and features some of the band’s biggest hits: “Nothing Else Matters,” “The Unforgiven” and “Enter Sandman.” On six consecutive genre-defining studio albums (from 1991’s Metallica through 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct), Metallica has consistently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In support of their 2023 album 72 Seasons, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will see the band playing two nights in every city they visit throughout 2023-24.

Metallica GREAT, SoFi not so much

by Andy on 11/27/23SoFi Stadium - Inglewood

The circle stage has some pros and cons, but the pros outweigh the cons. I love the stage being in the center of the stadium, it gives a better view for all the seats. The only downside is the GA pit view isn't that great, since the band is only in your section for a quarter of the time. But hey! That's why those tickets were cheaper than the seats I bought. My only other thought was the sound. SoFi does not have great sound. There was too much echo.

    Highlight Of My Life!

by Ray A. on 11/20/23Ford Field - Detroit

First time seeing Metallica live & they lived up to all of my expectations. The setlist was perfection, the energy infectious, & the performances were on another level that most bands half their age wouldn’t even compare to. Simply incredible! Thanks Metallica for a special night I’ll never forget.

Dome needs more like this at a lower price

by HILNDR on 11/17/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

Tickets bought day before show started and logged in to find issues. Had to call and got them into my account last minute, Went to both shows first one was free. Like the round experience and was mid way up towards one corner. Sound was better 1st night for Pantera. FFDP was too bass drum heavy hard to understand words, liked ice nine kills but they would be better in a theater like the Fox, overall loved Metallica as they went through all their music in two nights. Food was not good, rock hard pretzel first night and tried empanadas second. Not great. Concert was overpriced. Would only go to concerts like this when free tickets are given to me, Would rather go to small venue are free fair concerts to enjoy. Not worth vacation money to see 2 hours worth of live performances.

    Great Performance

by Tate on 11/15/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

The venue was a little crazy to get through just because of the sheer masses of people, but it was an incredible experience. They've still got it.

    Metallica #M72Detroit

by Brian on 11/14/23Ford Field - Detroit

Best show I’ve ever been to. I’m a Metallica super fan and have seen them live many times. This time was by far the best. The scale and scope of the show was huge. Metallica blew everyone away! The openers were awesome on both nights. I was super happy to see Pantera live for the first time after being a longtime fan. 5FDP was incredible again (2nd time I’ve seen them).

too much down time and missed the opener

by molepoet on 11/14/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

I'm no rookie when it comes to concerts, so when the show time said 6:00, I figured the first opener would go on around 7:00. I got there at 6:35 and no one was playing. Five Finger Death Punch started playing around 7:00. They played for maybe 45 minutes. Then a full hour went by before Metallica came on stage. We missed seeing Ice Nine Kills because they apparently started at 6:00 and ended at 6:30. Of course Metallica was great and so was Five Finger Death punch, but, as someone who goes to at least 10 shows a year, I never would have thought it actually started precisely at 6:00 or that the opener would play for such as very short time. Overall, I was super sad because I took my kid mainly to see Ice Nine Kills and missed them.

AWESOME SHOW! In a disaster of a city

by DZ on 11/14/23Ford Field - Detroit

Metallica was SPOT on! I wouldn't know about Pantera because the Parking garage where I SPENT $50 to park had the road barricaded and it too almost an hour to go around the block only to find out that there were no spots in the garage and be told to go to the garage blocks away. Hence missing Pantera because of a city that cannot handle multiple events in there failing infrastructure. GET IT TOGETHER if you want to become a thriving metropolis like many other cities I know you long to be like. ALSO yes I left 2.5 hours ahead of time and I live 14 miles away!!!!!!!!!! I was not the only one for sure who missed the show Ford Field was still not even half full when I got there and i walked with thousands of people rushing to get there...I will for sure rethink the shows I decide is worth it to go through that madness again and trust me that list is very short.

    Downplay

by Tuor on 11/14/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

I bought these tickets to see Five Finger Death Punch, not metallica. I felt extremely robbed that all of the other bands were downplayed so much. I even felt like the sound wasn't being given the same quality. I mean come on, Five Finger Death Punch knocks Metallica out of the water anyway

    Pretty good

    by Dbm13852 on 11/14/23Ford Field - Detroit

The show was high energy and the crowd was great. All three bands performed well. I'm learning that I'm not a huge fan of bands performing in the round, it tends to lack something that a traditional stage provides. The acoustics at Ford Field are also meh. All just personal preference. Metallica and Pantera were great. I look forward to seeing them again!
