Brought my daughter to her first rodeo and we had a great time. The seat were amazing, surrounded by friendly people. The venue was easy to find, parking was easy. If you're visiting Texas I would definitely recommend going to see a rodeo. There was something for all ages, from very young to old.
The entire event was a blast and a true American family event meant to entertain the entire family. Good ol American fun.
Rodeo was really good, entertaining and the stock won the night. Rough night for the cowboys.
Too many of the entertaining acts had been cut from the Rodeo leaving it quite boring at times. The chuck wagon races, the poker game with the bulls, and introduction parade with all riders and participants as well as the synchronized musical riders were absent and left the rodeo with little amusement. Also, the Mayor of Balch Springs found it necessary not once, but twice to introduce the members of the city council and past city council members and past mayors for what reason no one knows. I don't believe anyone cared. The box seats paid good money to be entertained however, don't waste your money on box seats; just go with the general admission and you may feel you got your moneys worth. The fun things included 4 to 7 years olds hanging on for dear life to ride a sheep so that one would receive a trophy and all the recognition that goes with it. 12 and 13 year boys riding bulls was outstanding. How do they do that? Forney participant was exemplary here. The clown kept the audience laughing out loud as the current expression goes and is a treat to every age...including the little ones who enjoyed his acrobatic abilities on the cables above the bull pen in the arena which housed the members and Mayor of Balch Springs and all were wondering if there was an extra charge for them for this ring side seating.
We are here from PA and experienced a rodeo for the first time. My teen and tween both enjoyed it and the tween took part in the Dash for Cash. You need to be prepared for holding your breath every time a rider falls off - hoping they do not get kicked in the head; but nothing like that happend :)
This really was our "first rodeo." My daughter and I loved it. It was exciting and good family fun. We were amazed at the talent of the Cowboys and Cowgirls. Would highly recommend the Mesquite Rodeo!

Such a fun rodeo night! Great events, host was entertaining. All performers were awesome! Only let down was how expensive the tickets were for what we got. Got the VIP tickets with food and drink. Limited drink selection, food was decent but not worth the extra $$ we paid for it. Small drink cups with only able to get one at at time caused us to get up and out of our seats everytime we wanted a drink.
Good entertainment. Good rodeo action. Clowns provided laughter.
This event was a great one and my entire family made memories for the 2014 Christmas season.
This is the second time we've been to this rodeo. The first time was several years ago. This experience was dramatically worse than last. The competition, overall, was very poor. The narration was amateurish. The whole arena REEKED of urine. It was cold outside and the arena was fairly cool until about an hour before the show ended when it became very uncomfortably cold inside. I've been to quite a few rodeos in my life and this one, aside from being indoors, ranked as one of the worst.
This was an awesome experience. And I would definetly do it again!
Great, clean family fun! The stadium seats were comfortable, and the smattering of events kept things interesting.
Our Rodeo night is full of fun and excitement, the event makes a quite experience for friends of mine from overseas, I'm sure they are sharing the moment with their family and friends in China.
As this was our first attendance at a Rodeo show we chose to treat ourselves with "club tickets" for the event at Mesquite Arena on August 23, 2014. this turned out to be a very good decision and an unforgettable night. Prior to the show there was a most delicious barbeque buffet - all inclusive - at the club facilities, and beverage were available without charge for the rest of the evening, even after the show when there was live musical intertainment in the very same club rooms. The Rodeo show itself was everything we were hoping and expecting it to be - and some more. It was intertaining in the very best sense, exicting, thrilling, impressive and funny - not least thanks to the wit of the Rodeo Clown and Announcer - the full three hours just passed in a minute. we can absolutely only recommend to spend an evening at the Mesquite pro-Rodeo, as to us - two European Rodeo Rookies - this came out like a great event and a grand experience of the USA - Texan style.
Everyone should experience the rodeo at some point in their lifetime. It was enjoyable. We were not happy with equipment hanging down from the ceiling in front of the video screen during part of the event. Blocked our view of the video.
My wife and I enjoyed the event and we will be back.
