I gave the rodeo an average rating only because the speaker system is just so incredibly loud. That was 2.5 hours of ear drum beating. But love that when calling the rodeo for will call and parking info a real live person answered the phone! One clown joke was not appropriate for kiddos. Rodeo was fast paced and entertaining for sure.

    Rodeo a la Mesquite

by jfchico on 8/11/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

This was a good show. We arrived early being first time attendants to this rodeo and had to wait to get in on a hot afternoon. We ate at the event and the price was reasonable for BBQ, slaw, beans, potato salad and cobbler. The rodeo began and the master of ceremonies said a prayer. The tempo achieved by all the activities presented from MC, the various rodeo events and introductions of notables attending that night made it look like the folks in Mesquite have this down well! ONLY a minor complaint: lack of a unisex or family bathroom. My girlfriend was in a wheelchair which made it "interesting" trying to execute the proper timing for a quick in/out of the men's restroom. All in all, not to big of an issue. I'd likely do this again in Mesquite. My girlfriend liked it a lot (she'd been before).

For a fun date night go ahead and get the club access seating, you get a fairly decent BBQ dinner and unlimited beer and wine and I think of a few house mix drinks. then settle in with some peanuts, watch the rodeo and have a big time! lots of fun, especially for the small town girl stuck in a big city like Dallas...

Very professional and entertaining rodeo. Fascinating performances and an evening with fun which we will always remember. A highlight of our long trip to the USA. Too bad that video taking is not permitted.

    Mesquite Rodeo

    by GrandNana1234 on 8/4/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

The people at Customer Relations were fabulous to help us with new seat assignments because the seats in 113 were AWFULL! We were reseated in section 109 at much better seats and enjoyed most of the Rodeo. The contestants were not good on the night we were there. Overall, the best part of the Rodeo was the fact that the two young children I was with were having a good time until the people behind us got drunk and screamed in our ears to the point that we had to leave early.

    Rodeo

    by Countrygirl76084 on 8/4/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

The rodeo is a wonderful family event. I highly recommend getting the 8 second club. The BBQ dinner was amazing. We were on the front row. My daughter was so close to one of the horses, that she could have touched it.

family, too long but good for taking out of town f

by JoeyWindeeeee on 7/31/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

First time for me, good for taking out of town friends to check out Texas rodeo, the program was too long, need to be better organized. They have foods and drinks for sale, also have mechanical bull for picture but very long line. Their gift shop was sad, got nothing to buy as souvenir. Maybe they should have cowboy or cowgirl for picture taking

    Really Fun Rodeo

by Notsomuchacowgirl on 7/29/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

My husband and I brought our Boston family members and sat in the middle of the second row. What a different experience being that close to the action. Especially the bronco riding. Rodeos are always fun, but being up close and personal with experienced riders took it to a new level!

    Mesquite Rodeo with friends

by Rfoltz on 7/29/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

Our tickets we supposed to be all you can eat and drink with the wristband. My husband was charged for his last soda, after I had just come back from getting a free soda from the same stand. He even showed them his wristband and they still charged him. A little disappointed after paying so much for the seats.

    This IS my first rodeo

by FIRSTRODEOGAL on 7/22/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

Was here for business and decided to check out the rodeo. It was a fun time and got exactly what I was expecting and more. The performers clearly loved what they were doing and the culture made the show. Growing up in NY, we don't see too many rodeos.

It was a short rodeo, for the price thout is was not long enough. Not enough Bull riding. Clowns were great. Kids performances were also entertaining. Over all ok, just a little disappointing on the length of the show

The rodeo was great family fun!!

by KANJ on 7/22/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

My family attended the rodeo this past Saturday evening- we purchased club tickets which included buffet meal. The food was GREAT! There was a lot to do before the rodeo for the kids- and the rodeo itself was a lot of fun! The kids were not bored or grabbing for electronics and said it was the best thing they had done that week which had included indoor skydiving.

    Rodeo Texas Style

by JSkirvin on 7/21/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

Had a great time. A indoor arena w/ air . Went with friends that have never been to a rodeo before and they had a great time also.

Good, but not as good as it used to be.

    by TexasGirl14 on 7/21/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

I went to the mesquite rodeo every year until 2006 when I moved away. I've recently moved back, so I went again. Now it feels like a WWE wrestling setup with the way too loud announcers and music and the lights constantly going off and coming back on. I was truly waiting for them to say "let's get ready to rumble" at any moment. I go to the rodeo for the actual events, not the "entertainment" of it. Like my rating indicates, it was still good, but just a bit over the top. I won't go every year anymore.

    not worth the money

by tedbbish on 7/16/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

This was no better than small town rodeos I have been too. Maybe twenty minutes of interesting things to watch. Lots of wasted time in between events. Most if it was boring. Certainly not worth the money we spent!

First time going to Mesquite rodeo & going again.

    by MattJW1 on 7/16/14Mesquite Arena - Mesquite

I hadn't been to a rodeo in years but my new girlfriend Michelle loves going to rodeos and had been to the Mesquite Rodeo several times before so I brought her there and we both loved it. We had great seats near the front where we could see all the action perfectly. The atmosphere, events, & even the crowd all made for a great experience and my girlfriend & I had a reason to put on our tightest pairs of jeans and walk around with our hands down each others' back pockets which for me was the best part. ;) The only drawbacks was that the Mesquite arena doesn't have a scoreboard to display best times & scores which made it impossible to keep up with who was winning which event. Also, the head rodeo clown was too damn much of a distraction trying to be the center of attention. His act overlapped with the start of some of the events which took attention away from the rodeo riders. But overall it was a great rodeo & a very great experience and although it's quite a drive from Midlothian we'll both be going again. Michelle loves rodeos and I love when we walk around with our hands down each others' back pockets. :)

Mesquite Rodeo was a boot kicking time.

Great family event. So thankful that some family events still honor God and Country.
