About

Matt Rife has exploded as one of the fastest growing comedians through his viral content and remarkable engagement on TikTok, where he has amassed over 13 million followers, and more than 2 billion views globally. As one of the most buzzed about comedians in the business, Rife has been selling-out comedy clubs and theaters across the country and is gearing up to embark on his biggest tour to-date with Live Nation, the Matt Rife: ProbleMATTic World Tour, kicking off on July 20th.

Rife brings forth his refreshingly genuine presence along with elevated material that is quick witted and vulnerable. From a small town near Columbus Ohio, Matt started performing at the age of fifteen then moved out to Los Angeles two years later where he began his career in Hollywood.

In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on MTV's Wild 'N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off The Boat, BET's North Of The 10, and NBC's comedy competition show Bring The Funny.

In 2021, Rife self-produced and distributed through YouTube his first one-hour comedy special, "Only Fans". This past April, the comedian bet on himself again and self-released his highly anticipated second stand-up special, "Matthew Steven Rife" on YouTube. The special was taped in Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently passed. He'll be taping his third stand-up special this fall in Washington, DC.

The Chelsea was a terrible comedy venue!

by Swoo on 5/7/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I traveled from another state to see Matt Rife in Vegas and was really looking forward to the show. I've seen his Netflix Special and his Instagram so I knew I'd like his sense of humor and was excited to see him live. Needless to say he is popular so tickets were really expensive. It was kid of a let down form the begging as we entered The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan Hotel. The space looked like a high school gymnasium with chairs set up on the basketball court and not a space you'd expect in a high end luxury Las Vegas Hotel. Basically it was folding chairs crammed together. There were several announcements to the crowd not to yell out or disrupt in any way or you'd be immediately ejected. I don't enjoy seeing any artist "heckled"but Matt Rife's comedy style is to feed off and roast people in the crowd. Although the show was funny and I did enjoy it, Matt seemed a bit off and his timing was awkward. He even mentioned it was hard to fine the tone of the crowd. I actually think it was the venue and not him. Matt is super funny and I'd see him again but I was disappointed in how the show went given the outrageous amount of money the tickets were.

Show was decent. Venue was not…

by Johnny KK on 5/7/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The show was ok but the venue setup was poor. Standing in line for an hour or more really killed any mood I had for a comedy show. If you needed a drink or the restroom, good luck. Then we moved through ticketing right to another line in a conference hall for another half hour. Buzzkill…

Won’t pay to see him again

by Pilot on 5/7/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

First guy was OK, second guy was better but 10 minutes into Matt’s act…I was tapped on my shoulder by security and told I could not laugh or cheer for Matt. I asked others around me if I was being loud and they all said “No, others on the floor are louder” (I was on top balcony and last row). Security told me “DO NOT LAUGH OR CHEER FOR MATT, THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING”. I sat the whole show and tuned him out. I really enjoyed watching his social media and Netflix show but to be told I couldn’t laugh or cheer for him was disappointing. Atleast Fluffy loves when we laugh and cheer!

    Ugh, had higher expectations

by CLH7332 on 5/6/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The show started 30 minutes late. One of his openers I thought was funnier than him. His jokes are routine nothing original. Was expecting a lot more. Pretty disappointing overall. Won’t see him again.

Great show, nice venue. Love his crowd work!

Great show, didn't expect crowd work for this size venue, but he was funny!!

    Good, but not great.

by Ivory H on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Matt Rife is always so funny on the Tik Tok Clips and Netflix specials so I had high expectations for a Vegas show where he’d be covering four nights. It fell flat. His first opener was awkward, second guy was the funniest and Matt never got it going with the crowd during the first of the Vegas shows. It’s almost like he had thought of a few key bits and no one hit on those.

    FUN

by Dolo on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Laughed for 2 straight hours. Event was spectacular! The opening acts were great leading up to main event. Matt Ride is so darn entertaining. Knows how to work the crowd in a great manner. I was prepared to be offended and was. Great show!!!! 5 stars

The show was everything I could’ve imagined and more. Even the opening comedians were great. Can’t wait to catch another show again in the future!

Miss his older stuff. Big venues aren’t as much fun.

by Neicy on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

It was fine. Not much crowd interaction as he used to have. I miss that. He is still hilariously funny though. Not worth the $ I paid though.

    Better on Social Media

by Sarah on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

His style of comedy doesn’t translate to large crowds. He’s great on social media when interacting with fans. That’s not the case on this tour.

    Good not great

by Cali1953 on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Show was at Chelsea theatre at Cosmopolitan hotel. Won’t go to another Chelsea venue again. Typical seat stuck together so no room to really move for 2-3 hrs. Show was interrupted by a medical emergency a little bit after Matt Rifes show. She unfortunately needed paramedics so Matt stopped until they removed her. He saw that the woman’s man was still there so Matt proceeded to have him come near stage, gave him something and had a selfie with him! While all of us waited patiently for Matt to proceed with the show. It was nice but all of us got a mediocre show after that. The first part of the show was funny but not as good as the first show I saw a few months ago. He seemed to rant more on the word “retard”. Don’t get me wrong he worked off the audience as he does and it was funny. His work with audience is the best part of his show. Another part about Chelsea venue, there is only 2 ways in and out, took a long time to get out. Getting out of hotel to transportation was even worse than getting out of venue. Having said all of that, I still love Matt Rife but don’t think he was up to his best that night.

An experience more funny then you would ever expect

by James Mackinnon on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Seen the may 2024 vegas show. Flew in from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. The guy is 10x funnier in person then i had ever expected and I would 100% go to his show again. His interaction with the audiance is epic. Overall, I have zero negative to say. If you have the opportunity to go, take it. Its a must do outing!

    Length of show

by Buster on 5/5/24The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Start of show was significantly late. Matt's portion of show was too short. I paid to see Matt Rife; he needs more material. VIP gifts were nothing but crap. Give a tshirt; we pay a significant amount of money to get those seats.

    45 min set

by Joe on 5/1/24The Met Presented by Highmark - Philadelphia

Save your money. Two openers were good, Matt plays about 45 minutes or so. He needs to play smaller venues to work a crowd. He is trying to make the most money now and overwork himself while he is young. Save your money and watch the Netflix specials. There are no photos allowed and you will be watched the entire time by security. 45 minutes is not acceptable if the demand is there.

    It was ok

by Celeste on 5/1/24The Met Presented by Highmark - Philadelphia

I love Matt Rife. But seeing him in person wasn't all I thought it would be. He really doesn't have much material. He interacts with the audience but it just wasn't all that funny. The audience was obnoxious. People can't walking past to the bar and we could hardly hear him and all around us people wouldn't stop talking or yelling. I think his tik toks are funnier since they show you the funniest parts. Tickets were too expensive and it wasn't all that funny

1.5 hr show for how much ??!

by Maxblonde on 5/1/24The Met Presented by Highmark - Philadelphia

The show started a half hour past the time shown for event. The first half hour was 2 other mediocre comedians. Thankfully Matt did crowd work, since that is where he shines. He was on stage for not a full 1.5 hrs. The tickets were $600, to me that doesn't justify such a "limited"show. He's done funnier stuff at smaller venues -- and I'm sure longer shows.

    Just not funny

by Al on 4/30/24The Met Presented by Highmark - Philadelphia

Both openers bombed bad. Everyone around me made comments about how unfunny they were and nobody laughed. When Matt came out all his set was obviously scripted including his reactions to the crowd. He was being hackled half the time because everything was so bad. Can’t believe I spent so much money to not laugh once.
