About

Matt Nathanson is a folk-rock singer and songwriter from Lexington, Massachusetts. As a solo artist, Nathanson has released 13 studio albums since launching with his 1993 debut, Please. His fifth album, 2003’s Beneath These Fireworks, served as his first major label release, though his 2007 follow-up, Some Mad Hope, achieved his first mainstream chart success behind the Hot 100-charting single “Come On Get Higher,” which would later be certified triple-platinum. Nathanson would hit the Hot 100 twice more with “Faster” and the Sugarland collaboration “Run” from 2011’s Modern Love. He also reached a new career peak at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 for 2013’s Last of the Great Pretenders. In 2022, Nathanson released his 13th album, Boston Accent, capping a prolific run of three full-length releases in three years. Nathanson’s music and extensive covers catalog have appeared across film and television, including The Bachelor, One Tree Hill and the American Pie franchise.

  • Always a great show!

by EliTruelove on 2/20/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Matt Nathanson and Stephen Kellogg put on a wonderful show. Both are great singer-songwriters and storytellers. I took 2 friends who’d never heard of either artist. They enjoyed the show and remarked that it was equal parts music and comedy. These guys are entertaining! This was my second time seeing Stephen and my sixth time seeing Matt.

Matt out did himself, from the VIP experience, to the show, his personality and love of music shines thru every performance. The venue is such a gem, from staff, to sound system, not a bad view in the house.

  • Great Concert

by Melissa on 10/12/22Rating: 5 out of 5

I saw his show at The Town Hall in NYC in Sept 2022. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to see. Loved hearing a recap of how we got the Some Mad Hope album. The show has an intimate feel to it and Matt is so funny. Highly recommend seeing him play live. Can’t wait to see him again. And a huge kudos to his opening act. He was pretty great too.

  • Amazing!!!

by Cathy on 10/11/22The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

What a treat - he is SOOOOO good live. Great energy and was so interactive with the audience. Felt like an experience, not just a show. And I’d never heard of Donovan Woods (the opener) but he was a great singer and hilarious. Great night of live music 💕

  • LOVE

by Sabrina on 10/11/22The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

We just loved our Matt Nathanson evening at The Magnolia. His opening acting, Donovan Woods, was a delight. The theater is fantastic—small, intimate venue. Great drinks and snacks, very clean. Easy in, easy out. Friendly and efficient staff. Well labeled. Easy to navigate. Excellent, close parking. Plus, that dreamy Matt Nathanson have a heartfelt performance. As always, we sang, we danced, we laughed. I hope he plays there again, SOON!!

  • Excellent show!!

by Nicole on 10/11/22The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to quite a few Matt Nathanson concerts over the years and this may have been the best one yet. Everything from the set, the vibe and the excellent quality of the performance were stellar. Matt’s voice has never been better nor has his humor and appreciation for performing live particularly since the pandemic started. What a wonderful homecoming!! And as I often do I was able to bring a new person in to hear him and fall in love with the music and his performance ability. Love the energy that Matt and Aaron always bring together!

  • Matt Nathanson was great!!!

    by Lisa_in_SD on 10/11/22The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Loved the smaller venue (The Magnolia) and the interaction of both Matt and the guy who opened for him (sorry cannot remember his name) with the audience. Both were very personable and gave amazing performances. I would definitely go to another concert with Matt Nathanson!

  • Matt Nathenson

by the wave on 10/8/22Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

Matt comes out does a few songs from B.Accent, noticed there were two young people in first few rows, doesn't want to use f bombs so starts using sign language that was hilarious. Gets into some mad hope and just does the songs beautifully. Tells a funny story about musicals with his Daughter, wife and off we go.couple super hits then only the good die young and a sunshine sing along, matt is a shining star in the HUMAN RACE.

  • A fun show. One if the best

by Andy That Guy on 10/6/22Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Always love seeing Matt Nathanson. Have been now to 18 shows in 15 years. This was probably top 3. Incredible and fun. The opening act, Donovan Woods, was an absolute surprise. Just as entertaining as the main act. Overall, a fantastic night out. Thanks Matt, Donovan, Aaron and other guy.
