About
Matt Nathanson is a folk-rock singer and songwriter from Lexington, Massachusetts. As a solo artist, Nathanson has released 13 studio albums since launching with his 1993 debut, Please. His fifth album, 2003’s Beneath These Fireworks, served as his first major label release, though his 2007 follow-up, Some Mad Hope, achieved his first mainstream chart success behind the Hot 100-charting single “Come On Get Higher,” which would later be certified triple-platinum. Nathanson would hit the Hot 100 twice more with “Faster” and the Sugarland collaboration “Run” from 2011’s Modern Love. He also reached a new career peak at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 for 2013’s Last of the Great Pretenders. In 2022, Nathanson released his 13th album, Boston Accent, capping a prolific run of three full-length releases in three years. Nathanson’s music and extensive covers catalog have appeared across film and television, including The Bachelor, One Tree Hill and the American Pie franchise.

Matt Nathanson is a great performer. His music is fun (some good mashing too), witty, sultry, energetic and a lot of fun. It seems a little short, not sure how long he played for. Would definitely go again and would recommend to a friend.
Bulletproof weeks wasgreat
by Dude1960 on 11/11/13State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Absolute great night. Josh Radin was awesome and Matt Nathanson was phenominal. From his performing to the way he engaged the audience. I will have 2 tickets to his shows any time he is in the area.
Matt Nathanson and Joshua Radin were AMAZING!
by Anonymous on 11/11/13State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5I've seen Matt Nathanson six times now and, I swear, he gets better and better every time. Friday was no exception. When you see him live, it's half concert/half comedy show. He is so funny and his stage presence is unmatched. This was my first time seeing Joshua Radin and I would absolutely see him again. His voice is heavenly and he seems like the sweetest guy. Overall, it was a fantastic show and I reccomend trying to get tickets to the remaining tour dates.
Evening out with Matt Nathanson
by MCL2013 on 11/11/13State Theatre - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5Matt did a fine job of entertaining, but I believe the opening act actually connected with the audience. I own many of mn cds, but non of Joshua Radin's. His performance made me want to listen to more of his work. As for the venue, the staff kept the crowds moving swiftly and on time. Well done.
Amazing show
by Shellmitch on 11/11/13State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Matt and Joshua put on a great show. It was fantastic. Matt is a great performer and Josh is a great singer/songwriter. I got to meet and get 2 CD's signed and a picture taken with Josh and this made my night. Thank you for a great concert experience. Again the State Theater hosted a fantabulous group of people.

Matt Nathanson always puts on an incredible show! I've seen him several times and he never disappoints! The show is part rock show and part comedy act with Matt's witty banner and funny anecdotes about his songs and life in general. Such an awesome night!
Another great show!
by redpumps on 11/6/13The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5Matt always know how to put on a fantastic show and he plays off the audience energy so well. Great set list, great crowd reaction, great venue. Josh Radin also did a great set although his style of music isn't always the best in a chatty venue/opener slot. I still loved him though; newbies to his stuff might not get the full effect. Don't miss Matt Nathanson next time he plays - half great music half hilarious banter! Love him!
Matt Nathanson phenomenal as always!
by Angie1213 on 11/5/13The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5Matt is the ultimate entertainer! Awesome singer/songwriter/story teller! 3rd time I've seen him and it won't be the last.

Matt Nathanson is absolutely fantastic--wonderful set list with some GREAT covers as well as some of Matt's best. He is also hilarious. His introductions to his songs we almost stand-up comedy worthy.
Matt Nathanson-AMAZING!!!!!!
by JRZGIRLATHEART on 11/5/13The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5Matt Nathanson is truly awesome! He's not only talented, he's hilarious! Puts on an unbelievable show...no matter how many times you see him!!
Matt Nathanson was entertainer superb!!!
by Perthmama on 11/5/13The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5Some musicians have a concert and play their best music. Matt on the otherhand comes to perform. He completely gets involved with the crowd making the experience an interactive one. Th music is top notch, the banter is pure fun and the whole night is completely entertaining! Pure joy!!!! Bonus was Joshua Radin...he can headline himself and fill a house!
Matt Nathanson is an incredible performer!
by RachelEC on 11/5/13The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5I've seen him two other times this year: in Connecticut and in New York City (where he hosted a Halloween costume contest). Each show was better than the previous, even when I thought there was no way he could top it. He's a modest person. He graciously and sincerely thanks his fans for coming by. Further, he seems to glow when the fans sing along. It feels like a reciprocated appreciation for each other. That's something no other artist in concert has ever achieved with me, even in smaller events. Beyond that, he is hilarious and makes somewhat of 20% of his set a stand up comedy show. That really amps up the entire energy of the concert. Finally, the music is incredible, and I always thought Matt Nathanson was just so much more incredible live. He incorporates the audience into his songs, and makes it an interactive event. Seriously the best all around performer I have ever seen.

Both Joshua Radin and Matt Nathanson were great performers. They engaged with the audience and were quite entertaining. I enjoyed listening to their stories and views on music. They both seemed to be excited about the crowd and sharing their music.
