About

Matt Nathanson is a folk-rock singer and songwriter from Lexington, Massachusetts. As a solo artist, Nathanson has released 13 studio albums since launching with his 1993 debut, Please. His fifth album, 2003’s Beneath These Fireworks, served as his first major label release, though his 2007 follow-up, Some Mad Hope, achieved his first mainstream chart success behind the Hot 100-charting single “Come On Get Higher,” which would later be certified triple-platinum. Nathanson would hit the Hot 100 twice more with “Faster” and the Sugarland collaboration “Run” from 2011’s Modern Love. He also reached a new career peak at No. 16 on the Billboard 200 for 2013’s Last of the Great Pretenders. In 2022, Nathanson released his 13th album, Boston Accent, capping a prolific run of three full-length releases in three years. Nathanson’s music and extensive covers catalog have appeared across film and television, including The Bachelor, One Tree Hill and the American Pie franchise.

  • Matt Nathanson is always five stars

by Tara on 3/22/25Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Matt Nathanson puts on the best live show. His voice and his music is always better live than any produced version. Our show got rescheduled due to a power outage, and I feel like it speaks a lot to his character that he rescheduled and came back to a not so packed venue instead of canceling completely. I will always go see him live anytime he’s close enough.

  • Amazing

by Brismom on 3/17/25The Pageant - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

It was the perfect night with the perfect entertainer. Small venue, great staff, parking was a bit wonky but worked out. Overall the ultimate experience. Very intimate and personal. This is the man that woos you just by doing, nothing but being himself. Makes you laugh and feel things in his lyrics you didn’t know you could feel or you thought you were alone in. He’s real and passionate about his music and family and it shows in every word.

One of the best live concerts I've been to. Matt always puts on a great live show and despite KT's self perceived audio issues, I thought KT Tunstall made for a terrific opening!! Thank you both for an incredible evening!!

  • Exceptional Show!

by Shelly on 3/16/25The Pageant - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Matt Nathanson was the perfect blend of original music, comfortable stage presence, humor and quick quips that brought the audience into the show. The Pageant was a great venue for this show. The song wheel was a fun way to add variety. I felt at one point that Matt even made direct eye contact when he was singing the venue was intimate enough for that! I am going to try to find a next Matt Nathanson show to watch!

Great place to see a great show! Sister in-law lives in St. Louis but I do not and she had never been there. She saw show with me and said she’s definitely going to look for future shows there as she enjoyed the venue.

  • Excellent as usual

by JLM on 3/4/25Chevalier Theatre - MedfordRating: 5 out of 5

Matt is the best live- he sounds amazing and his interaction with the crowd is entertaining and fun. I have seen him live many times and would go back every time he comes to my area. The Chevalier theatre is small. I recommend avoiding the back orchestra section. It is underneath the balcony and the sound isn't as good. Also kind of claustrophobic.
