    Matchbox 20 was everything!

by Tomi8629 on 10/5/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Matchbox 20 is my all time favorite bad and they did not disappoint. I was able to see them twice on this tour and would go 100 more if I could.

    Distracting venue

by KellieAB on 10/5/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

I love the Counting Crows I did not like their over the top stage lighting. I think Adam was not his best but bless his heart he tried. The lights were way too much, sometimes just because you can doesn't mean you should. Matchbox Twenty was tight. The stage was sparse and one expensive overhead flexible lighting rig. Much nicer. As for the venue. The walkway / colannade and bars are visible to the sides of the stage. That's greedy tacky and takes away from the artist and is sad. Definitely not a venue built for listening it was built to cash in. My complaint is that they could have done both with the right designers. It's a sound cone shaped open back venue that uses volume to substitute for good acoustics.

    All for Matchbox

by mommyout on 10/5/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

First thing: The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory is an awesome venue. Everything was so new and clean. Parking garage was available with a short walk to the venue, and traffic was smooth entering and exiting. Lots of people were working and very helpful. The only problem was trying to access restrooms from the sold out lawn seats. The women's and men's rooms are on opposite sides of the lawn. As always Matchbox Twenty rocked the house! Amazing show as always. During the encore, they did a cover of Simple Mind's Don't You that was point on. But Counting Crows was a dud. The songs they played were very slow and some were not recognizable. They didn't even play Mr. Jones. What artist doesn't play their biggest hits? If Counting Crows had played last, I would've left early.

    Matchbox Twenty was awesome

by JulesMB20 on 10/5/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

I have seen MB20/Rob Thomas 14 times now and I think Sunday's show topped them all. They have so many good songs and I danced and screamed the whole show. Having 4th row may have had something to do with it. If you ever have a chance to see them in concert, do it!

Not the best, but not the worst

by nikonaf on 10/4/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Venue needs a lot of work. Took most of the show to get the sound right, and still highly under construction. I’ve seen the Counting Crows many times, this was by far the most mediocre performance I have seen my Adam Duritz. He acted like he didn’t care and wasn’t feeling well or jiving with the audience like he usually does. Matchbox 20 and Rivers & Rust in the other hand were very on point and performed a phenomenal show.

    Rob Thomas blew me away!

by CS4156 on 10/4/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

While I was not expecting Counting Crows to be first, it was appropriate. CC were good, don't get me wrong (I have seen them three times)... MB20 and Rob Thomas were amazing. Rob put everything into this show!

    Out of This World!

by Lorelei53 on 10/4/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

I went to a lot of concerts this summer and a couple of them really stood out as above the rest, but this one truly took the cake! Rob Thomas certainly knows how to connect with the crowd and make you feel like you are having a shared experience. The Counting Crows were sometimes great and sometimes lackluster, but Matchbox 20 was ON the entire time! Just a wonderful show!!

    Matchbox 20 was amazing!!

by Godess05 on 10/4/17The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Thank goodness Matchbox 20 was so amazing!! I was very disappointed in the Counting Crows. I am a LONG time fan of theirs and was truly disappointed in the way Adam sang the songs. When we go to a concert we want to hear the songs they way they were written and performed on the album. That did not happen with 99% of the songs. On the upside, :) Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20 was so good! we were all up dancing and singing along. It was quite memorable. The new venue still has some kinks to work out. 8000 people on the lawn is WAY too many. The sound system was good, i will be very interested to see a concert with the doors closed.

Great concert! We had backstage passes and second row center seats, but it would have been wonderful from anywhere within the venue. Props to the new Irving Music Factory as well.
