  • So much fun but…

by Lele on 3/18/25Landmark Theatre - SyracuseRating: 4 out of 5

The musical was very well done, the actors were fabulous, and it was so much fun. However, the music was unbearably loud, frequently drowning out the singers and making me wish I’d brought ear plugs. My ears were ringing the next morning. It dulled an otherwise great experience

  • Not that great

by BD on 3/18/25Landmark Theatre - SyracuseRating: 2 out of 5

First of all the seats in the theater make it very difficult to view the show. I had right orchestra seats and it's very difficult to look over someone's head to see the show. I had seats in the last row and had a hard time and my family was 5 rows in front and they also had a hard time. Second, the set was very basic. Not a lot of money went into it clearly. I feel like they could've made it look better with some plants or something. It was just ok for me. Third, the music was great but the woman who played Donna seemed to struggle at times with some notes or keeping up with the music.

  • Phenomenal show

This was an incredible show. Picked perfect actors to play characters. I couldn't sit still in my seat sang along with all the songs. This was a great musical to see.

Mamma, Mia, what a performance by cast and crew. Such energy. How can they do this day after day?

  • Okay but not fantastic

by Dr. Cookie on 3/17/25Landmark Theatre - SyracuseRating: 3 out of 5

It is hard to go wrong with Mamma Mia, the music is always outstanding. However, the women who played the mom was not very engaging. During her duet with the architect, she was very off pace. It is clear she has amazing vocals, but it was hard to understand the words that she was singing and she didn’t seem very in touch with the character, it was almost like she was just doing a job and not trying to portray the character. The vocals of the architect were also off. It sounded like he was trying to turn the music into something bigger than it was. A lot of bravado where it wasn’t needed. I would not go see this again if the same people were in the same characters. The actress who played the daughter was spot on and really owned the character, she was the shining star of the group.

  • The show was FABULOUS!

by Andrea on 3/16/25Landmark Theatre - SyracuseRating: 5 out of 5

I was fortunate to see this show twice and both times did not disappoint. The singing was great, the costumes were great, those that played the characters were awesome and incredibly funny!

  • Buckets of laughs

Mammia Mia was delightful. Enjoyed every moment. The cast was amazing. Never a dull moment. Not only was I tapping fingers, my neighbor to the left of me was tapping out the beats to the songs. Staff members as always were delightful at the Chrysler . Tickets are always a great gift .

  • Fun with Friends

by JA on 3/14/25Landmark Theatre - SyracuseRating: 4 out of 5

As a birthday gift from my children, I was treated to 5 tickets to Mamma Mia! I loved the movie, so I was excited to see it on stage. My husband and I invited our best friends, a wife and husband. They had never seen the movie and knew nothing of the story line. Both really enjoyed the performance with the high energy dance routines and music. A favorite was when Skye and his buddies danced with flippers on their feet. It was amazing!! Also, when the full cast came out in the end to do 3-4 encore songs, the audience was on their feet and we were having a dance party with swaying arms and everyone singing! Soooo much fun!! All of the performers were easy to hear and understand, except for "Donna."I don't know if there was an issue with her mic or if she was just too soft spoken at times. The stage performance is a little different from the movie, so I needed to adjust a little, whereas my friends did not know the difference. Two songs that were excluded from the movie were on the stage, so I enjoyed being surprised with those. I was disappointed that some bad language was thrown in - there was none in the movie. As far as I am concerned that does not add to the quality of a show, but takes away from it. My husband and I have been Broadway Theater League members since 1998 in Utica, NY. I miss the days of more elaborate sets. Mamma Mia only had 1 reversable set to indicate either inside or outside. Even though it was minimal, it worked and did not detract from the show. One big highlight for me was having the live orchestra! They were phenomenal and brought so much more depth to the music and quality of the performances. I was so glad to have that live experience again. We no longer have a live orchestra in Utica. Needless to say, Mamma Mia at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse was wonderful! Gorgeous theatre, live orchestra, fantastic singers and dancers and great comedic performances from "Tanya"and "Rosie"!! It was a night to be remembered with my dear friends. We decided to start a new tradition of attending a show at the Landmark every year to rekindle our friendship (we live on opposite ends of the state). Well done, cast and crew of Mamma Mia!!

The music was excellent, the performers were outstanding and it was definitely a very fun night! My daughter and I sang along with all the songs and just really enjoyed ourselves. It was well worth the expense to be entertained like that!
