Mamma Mia!
by ReKnee on 3/23/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5I was totally impressed with the play...I had seen the movie and felt this overshadowed the movie completely...the singing was excellent the acting was superb....even my spouse (who went just to pacify me) enjoyed it immensely!
Momma Mia was great.
by Patfish on 3/23/11Pensacola Saenger Theatre - PensacolaRating: 4 out of 5I took my wife for our anniversary not thinking I would enjoy the play as much as she. I was wrong. We both had a great time. The music was great.

Not what I expected
by robmar on 3/22/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 3 out of 5I was a bit disappointed. While I enjoyed the music, I was disappointed in the costumes and the set. I know it's a touring company, but I've seen better props and sets from other touring companies. The clothes that the daughter wore were awful from beginning to end. Not what I expected.

Mamma Mia was Uplifting
by Vchase on 3/22/11Pensacola Saenger Theatre - PensacolaRating: 5 out of 5Great! I went with my mother and we laughed, cried, sang, and danced our way through. The actors were extremely talented and I would recommend this to all musical lovers out there.
Absolutely captivating and entertaining!
by AshyKris on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5I have never seen the movie version of Mamma Mia, nor have I seen a previous production of the musical. I went into this blind, only somewhat knowing the gist of the story. Ultimately, the entire production as a whole was fabulous!! I went with my mom and niece, and both of them were laughing constantly! It made for a perfect "girls' day out" and we'll cherish that memory for years to come! As far as acting goes, most of the actors were fantastic. The girl playing Sophie was not my favorite, though. The mother was a fantastic singer, and all three of the "fathers" were absolutely hilarious and easy to love! Tanya was perfectly cast, and was constantly entertaining. The younger cast of males really knew how to get into it and make the show fun for everyone with their dancing and crazy personalities. Definitely a must-see. You can certainly tell that this is a Broadway production, comparable to those I've seen in New York. Nothing was lost in the touring for Mamma Mia!
Mama Mia absolutely outstanding!
by jracba on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5Mama Mia was the best play I have ever seen and I have seen many. It was extrememly entertaining, uplifting through music, funny and I wanted to see it again that very night. I have watched the movie many times, but this version was fantastic! I would recommend this play to everyone.

by Anonymous on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5Loved the show! The music was terrific (I love ABBA), couldn't sit still in my seat! The acting and singing was outstanding; the choreography really good! If you love musicals, this is the best. Upbeat, unforgettable music; brought back lots of memories! Loved the story line, I think all ages could relate!

Better second time around!!!!
by Lexibell on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5This was absolutely the BEST show I have ever been to. I saw it for the first time in New York, loved it then. My husband and I was a little hesitant to go see it again, but we are soooo glad we did!!! It was even better-- the cast was phenominal!!!! I would loved to have purchased a CD of the soundtrack of "them" performing the songs. Is there one available? I would definitely go see it again should it come back to Baton Rouge and I would definitely recommend it!!! Awesome!!!!!
Mamma Mia!
by SarahAnne75 on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 4 out of 5I bought these tickets for Christmas gifts for my mom and friends and they had an EXCELLENT time! We laughed so much that we cried, and then I cried again when Donna sang "Winner Takes All". It was beautiful and so much fun and energy!
Great cast
by Linny32 on 3/21/11Pensacola Saenger Theatre - PensacolaRating: 5 out of 5My husband and I have seen Mamma Mia in London (original cast) Toronto (Broadway cast) and Chicago (touring company). In fact, we've seen this musical in excess of 10 times with various casts. This cast (with the exception of Sophie) was excellent. I would highly recommend this show to everyone. PLEASE do not confuse that awful movie with this stage production. It's brilliant.
Mamma Mia was enjoyable
by watchbird on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 3 out of 5I didn't think the cast was particularly strong. They did a good job, but not outstanding. I didn't think there was much chemistry between the leads. The dancers were good and displayed a lot of energy throughout the show. Band sound was too loud....making it difficult to understand singers, both solo and group. Aside from the show itself.......I was surprised to see the audience bringing in drinks and food into the seating area. For me, permitting drinks and food in the seating area, lowers the standards of proper theater etiquette. I think the audience can surely leave their drinks, etc. outside before entering the seating area to view the performance. It's not "dinner" theatre. Live theater should command the audience's courteous and complete attention.
Mama Mia!!!!!!!!! What a show!
by tippycherokee on 3/21/11Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5I went there expecting to be entertained. I left there completely stunned and delighted at how amazing this show was. Lively, funny, completely invigorating!!!!! Even my husband loved it! I loved the music, the acting - the sheer fun of it all. Of course, I've got my ABBA CD installed in my car now....and I just can't get enough of it. What fun!
