We saw the movie and have the CD of ABBA music. The actors worked well together and voice projections were good.

Fantastic. I was pleasently surprized that they were able to keep with the movie with such little props.

I surprised my 15 year old daughter with the tickets and she was so excited and happy she cried. We had great seats and the show was amazing. It was an unforgettable event for me and my daughter to share. Thank you for finally coming to Houston, I have been waiting forever to get her these tickets.

  • Mamma Mia - I loved it!

It was great - just as good as when we saw it in London. The cast was great and loved the scenery.

  • Mamma Mia was lots of fun

by TnLC on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great. Fun music and a fun story. There were a few lulls as they tried to build the emotional side of the stoy, especially in the 2nd scene. They could have done a better job with that part. It did close with a bang, and that really made up for the slow down. Overall a terrific show.

  • Could have been better

by KCinSL on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

Sound problems throughout the musical. The lead character, Donna, had an entire range of low notes and they could not be heard. Very disappointing. Then, at the end when the cast was singing with handheld mikes, someone's Lavalier did not get turned off, so the feedback was massive and painful to the ears.

  • Not the best version I've seen...

    by cinren13 on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

"Sophie" was a bad musical theatre major who was told to be sure you annunciate. She tried way to hard and was almost painful to watch. "Donna" sounded great when sound was coming out of her mouth but she kept losing her voice and all we could hear was the harmonies. With that said all of the supporting actors were great as expected except for "Sky" who was probably the worst of all. This is at least the third time I've seen Mamma Mia - and took my daughter and husband this time - but was very disappointed overall.

I took my two daughters and granddaughter, we had a great time. My daughters and myself saw the show in New York. The one here in houston was lots of fun. The music was great, lots of folks moving to the music. If you want to really enjoy some fun music go see this show.

  • Even better 2nd time

by MimiPegs on 5/16/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Reason for seeing Mamma Mia! 2nd time was two young granddaughters! They have watched the movie many times over past two years. At ages 5 and 6, they sat through the complete play watching it all! My husband and I were so pleased we could introduce a Broadway play experience to our little girls!

  • Better than the Movie

by JohnTB on 5/16/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Kept comparing the characters to the movie. The energy of the actors and singing performances in the play were so much better. Even the set changes were entertaining. Rosie was a treat.
