  • Mamma Mia was OUTSTANDING!!!

I'd only seen the movie, which was "okay". That said I was SO delightfully surprised by the play. So much funnier, singing much better, everything better. Loved it! This is one of the few plays I may quite possibly go see a second time!

  • FABULOUS

Even better than I had hoped. Brought back SO many memories. Great acting / singing.

  • I'm already planning to attend next time!!!

This musical has been by far one of the best, I was so excited to go see it and I was not dissappointed. I convinced a guy to go with me and he was not thrilled about going but after the show he had said that it was more than what he was expecting and had lots of fun!!! I cant wait for it to com back to my hometown and next time I'll be getting front row tickets, I highly recommend this musical, it's sooo much fun and the music following the ABBA songs are great.

Fantastic!!! I had great seats and the show was awesome. My only problem was that sometimes the music was too loud and I couldn't hear the singers but overall I had a great time.

the singing was below par. No wow factor at all. I just couldn't pick out one character that gave a star performance. I was disappointed - shouldn't have spent my money

The show was delightful. It was what I expected. A light-hearted fun-filled show.

My wife and I had seen the movie twice but we pleasantly surprised by the stage performance. The set design, the lighting, the singing, the dancing were excellent. The only negative aspect was the sound. Someone needs to tell the sound person that AT TIMES the balance was off. The music was often so loud the lyrics could not be discerned.

  • Mamma Mia! Smiles Galore.....

by TexasBorn on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

We first saw Mamma Mia! in London. This cast compares favorably with the one in London. We actually liked the two Dynamos in the Houston performance the best. The three Dads were also outstanding. The backup dancers/singers were very good. Energy level was great. Don't leave until all the encores are finished. They were like a "bonus." We enjoyed the performance enormously.

  • Mama Mis was enjoyable

Good production- male vocals a little weak- dance productions very well cheorgraphed- afraid for sex implied for our teen children but ok- speakers obstructed view from our seats in box section-New York production much better-

  • Mamma Mia was like a party on stage!

by MuttieDP on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

The energy was high; the costumes were flamboyant; the prop shifts were subtle; the singing was moving - toe-tapping or touching. I highly recommend this to anyone with a beat in their heart.

  • Mamma Mia

I saw this originally on Broadway and again here at the Hobby Center. The first two were amazing, this one, almost average. Donna was the weakest of the vocals - in her low register, the background music/vocals drowned out her singing. Skye - eh. I was glad it was my daughter's first time to see it so she had nothing to compare it too. I was very disappointed. Then, trying to get OUT of the parking lot - next time I'll park somewhere else and walk.

  • Mama Mia is a Great Musical

by Texforyou on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets for my wife and two teenage daughters that have watched the movie a hundred times. They were so excieted and could not wait for the show. I on the other hand tried to show my interest but, honestly I was not that excieted. Was I ever wrong, Mama Mia proved to be a great musical that I enjoyed very much. Kaye Tuckerman as Donna Sheridan was such a strong performer and Alison Ewing as Tanya was as sexy as they come. Mary Callanan as Rosie keep me laughing through the night. Chloe Tucket as Sophie Sheridan was marvelous. The three leading men gave strong performances supported by an excellent cast.

  • Mamma Mia - great play!

by AuntieGran on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

As a member of TUTS (Theatre Under the Stars) in Houston, I've seen quite a few plays. Mamma Mia was definitely up there in the top. Funny and very entertaining! Was a little disappointed in the scenery (or lack of different scenery) but would still reccommend it as very worthwhile!!!

  • A load of fun!

by Scenesetter on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

The singing was great, props were simple, efficient and meaningful. There were all the great songs that you would expect to hear. We had a lot of belly laughs - some of the content went over my 7 and 9 year olds head (thankfully - I'll need to talk to them about crotch grabbing and plastic surgery at a later stage!). I loved it at the end when the audience stood up and the cast continued to sing and dance and encourage the audience to join in! A very worthwhile experience. We came away with a big smile on our faces and chatting about scenes!

We throughly enjoyed the stage production of Mamma Mia. It was well done and the music and singing was fantastic. Love Abba's music.

  • Mamma Mia was OK

by showersinger on 5/17/11Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 2 out of 5

Singing not strong for the 2 main characters Mother (Donna) and daughter (Sophie), especially the mother. They both could hit some of the notes but never consistently so a big let down when you wanted to hear your favorite songs. The support cast was amazing. The movie, with all the non professional singing actors and actresses seemed much better.

  • Wonderful performance
