About

Madonna launched her debut tour in 1985 — The Virgin Tour — in the United States and Canada. Shortly thereafter, she toured the world for the first time, embarking in 1987 in support of Who's That Girl. Over the ensuing four decades, Madonna would ignite the world with the most controversial and dynamic pop shows ever mounted, selling out nearly every tour — in its entirety — in seconds. To date, Madonna has performed about 700 shows across 11 concert tours, generating over $1 billion in ticket sales, and is the highest-grossing female touring artist of all time.

Great Show but started too late

    by Tennisguy8 on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Madonna put on a great show, but it started too late. I know from the past that she starts late, but 2 1/2 hour delay with no opening act is too much. It was pouring rain so that could have had something to do with an even longer delay. Thankfully we were seated under the overhang of seats above us, so we didn't get wet.

    only one queen Madonna

Best show ever that's why she is the queen nobody like her

    I wish she started earlier.

    by mike86XX on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Madonna had a great show but she didn't take the stage until 10:20, more than 2 hours late for an 8 pm show. Maybe others new that this is what happens but I wasted a lot of time waiting for her.

One of the worst stadium shows I've seen. Dark and weird just for the sake of being dark and weird. Many classics are unrecognizable. At times, you wondered if she was trying. Really disappointing.

    Not worth the wait

by SabrinaOber on 9/10/12TD Garden - Boston

I've been a Madonna fan for a long time (I'm 31, so just about as long as I can remember). I've seen her four times now, and this was the most disappointing. First, she really should know better than to have a DJ (or anyone, really) as an opening act, as this is not the crowd for it. The mostly 40+ fans will not appreciate someone playing music as a talent. The worst part about it was the fact that the DJ was on until almost 10 pm and, as we could tell by the upset people around us, no one was really informed about this. Thankfully, we knew because of Facebook and arrived late to miss the DJ, but when the ticket says 8 pm and she's never had an opener the past 3 times I've seen her, it should have been communicated to everyone the lineup. Second, I know it was called the "MDNA" tour, but let's be honest, no one wants to hear songs from that CD. We all know the songs people want to hear and this was very obvious during the show, as people sat during the vast majority of the new songs and were up and dancing during "Vogue", "Express Yourself", and "Like a Prayer". That's what we pay the money for. It's no secret. Lastly, there was no reason the show had to go that late...so late that people missed the last trains out of the city and since people weren't able to plan for it, I'm sure there were a lot of high cab fares getting back home that night. Basically, while the show was entertaining, it wasn't worth the wait until 10:20 pm and since we did have to work the next day, getting home at 1:30 am was not at all appreciated. Please know your audience a little better next time, Madonna. I'll be there to see you, but hope it's better than this!

    AMAZING!

by JessyL on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

walking on a tight rope? seriously? the lady's got it! the sound wasn't as good as thursdays show (i went to both) but think its because of the rain. i loved that she sang holiday just for this show since we were in the train. She just opened a second show at MSG, you must attend!

Aside from keeping the crowd waiting 2 and 1/2 hours -- the whole show was weird -- mostly dancers and acrobatics -- she didn't do much of her older stuff and the new stuff was so-so. Lipcyned most of it -- During Express Yourself she turned the song into Lady Gaga's Born this Way which was embarrassing. Highlight was finale of Like A Prayer where she was actually singing and had the crowd going but then thanked Chicago (this concert was in NY?) -- no encores, not that anyone wanted one. Would never pay to see her again and I WAS a huge fan. Time to give it up Madonna!

Wow. I love Madonna but this was so disappointing

    by madsue11 on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

I have been to many Madonna concerts and I have always been thrilled. This MDNA tour was horrible in my opinion. Thanks for reaching a new all time long wait to go on Madonna. 2 hours! Half the stadium was falling asleep by the time you came out. On top of that, the show had hardly any oldies which disconnected her from the crowd in my opinion. It was the fist Madonna concert I was at where the people around me were SITTING for 90% of the time. And what the heck was with that version of Like a Virgin?! Two thumbs down. Very disappointed and I usually love her. :-(

Madonna was great! But needs to start on time

by Jeremythepa on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

She was great but needs to start the show on time, coming on at 1030p.m. when ticket states 8p.m. is ridiculous, a DJ is not an opening act. It was like this at all the concerts according to friends. I have seen many Madonna concerts and while not my favorite it was good.

    The undisputed reigning Queen!!!

by LauSass on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Amazing! In 1 word, that's how I describe Madonna's MDNA. When I got in the stadium, the first thing that struck me was the stage. How grandiose beautiful and spectacular it is. The lighting is breathtaking and does wonders to the entire stage and stadium. To me, there hasn't been a better Madonna intro then the "Confessions Tour" in 2006. I still loved this intro, but it didn't WOW. I'm not gonna get into details for each song, but let's just say that MDNA moves beyond greatest hits. Never disappoints and always surprises ;-) Her energy on stage is unbelievable. Madonna shows why she's still on top after 30 years. Her interaction with her fans is much better then previous tours. She looks like she's really having fun while never missing a step or a note. The set list is a combination of some great oldies and new songs. Her dancers are really the best! they are flawless, brilliant, so talented and flexible like they have no bones. Every performance is a treat for the eyes, every interlude a message to the world, it's reality slapped in your face, and a reminder, a wake up call for people who just don't know any better. Madonna's in top form and the MDNA tour is a show you can't miss So... if you haven't made up your mind yet, the time is right now. Get your tickets or you will regret it forever. It's really worth it, and then some. After all, THERE'S ONLY 1 QUEEN, AND THAT'S MADONNA...

Great theatrics. Too bad we were hoping for good music. Set list was bad, gun scene was very confusing & like a virgin was just painful to watch and listen too when we finally figured out what she was doing!

    Show up late

by CosmotheDog on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

You gotta give Madonna 5 stars for putting on a killer show! Sure, it's a bit controversial but that's what you expect from her. I agree with most reviewers about wishing she'd played more of her old hits, but Madonna's Madonna. She'll do whatever she freakin' wants and for the most part, I loved it! The opening act totally sucked. This kind of bummed me out especially since Madonna didn't start up until around 10:30 and I was getting rained on. For making me stick it out with a lousy opening act in the rain until 10:30, I marked it down to 4 stars. Do yourself a favor - skip the opening act and show up at 10:00. You'll love it!

    Madonna was in fine form

    by ASmitty429 on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

No one can ignore the fact Madonna is a legend. She commands the stage like very few performers can. She is controversial, political, and doesn't care what people think. That's why her fans love her. MDNA is not her best tour (and i've seen every tour since Re-Invention in 2004) but it was not bad either. I wish she played more of her older hits in their original form instead of messing with the music but that's what Madonna does. Overall it was an enjoyable evening. Even though it rained most of the night, she treated us to an extra song, "Holiday", which was a great surprise and really got the crowd excited.

    Madonna NYC

    by Im1qtyesiam on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Performance was great, but sound was very muffeled. The left side speaker section was horrible so her voice was not projected out.

    MDNA - AMAZING!

    by Lady1ecua on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Although there was a long delay it gave us a chance to walk around the stadium for a bit. The DJ kept us entertained. The grand opening w/thunder & lightning sound effect made it even more REAL with the rain coming down! I was right when I guessed that it was an incense burner hanging @ the top of the stage. It was like entering a service which showed me a glimpse of her beliefs, trials and tribulations. So wonderful taking a trip back in time and reliving all her greatest hits. Wow that marching band (Give me All Your Luvin') really got everyone getting down!!! The gospel choir (Like a Prayer) had me in tears & the whole stadium singing along. It rained on & off all night but SO WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Can't wait for her next tour!!!!! :-D

    The worst!!

by zarblu on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

The Madonna concert at Yankee stadium was truly the worst concert i have ever seen, and i have seen many. i have also seen every madonna tour and was really looking forward to this. there was almost no choreography, she played the guitar too much, when she sang older songs (and there was a minimal amount), she would only sing one stanza of them. although she did sing "like a virgin" in its entirety, it she sang it as if it was a funeral dirge. The gun shot theme which started the concert and the cemetery/graveyard scenes didn't help. She would also only ever sing one dance song at a time when people would stand up to dance and then follow up with a few slow songs so there was no momentum. Overall, i wasted my money. The concert was also called for 8pm and she didn't go on stage until after 10pm.

    MADONNA ....MS. PRIMA DONNA!!!

by Ronidp on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

in all the concerts I've ever been too (and I've been to many!!) she was the most unappealing, disappointing concert to-date!!!...first off how do you note on ticket 8:00pm....most fans get there early (out door event & raining - no control over that) and she comes out at 10:35pm!!!! and plays till about 12:10am?? wet, annoyed & she really doesn't think about her fans - no thank you for coming out in this weather, IF I COULD OF SOLD MY TICKETS I WOULD HAVE & NOT OF REGRETTED IT!!!!.....Her setlist of songs were unimpressive, the first song Bang was truly upsetting as they is enough violence out there.. set consisted of guns, machine guns, blood content....not what I expected & could of did without. Like A Virgin was so depressing, she ruined that one too!!!!.....They only song the fans stood up for was LIKE A PRAYER which was well done, that's the best thing I could say about her concert . Would never see her again...it's all about her not about the people who brought her to this point!!!!!!

    by s194yahoo on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Unnecessarily violent and vulgar for 1st 1/2 hour, came out way too late, opening act was a DJ??? She turned "Like a Virgin" into a sad ballad!!
