About

Madonna launched her debut tour in 1985 — The Virgin Tour — in the United States and Canada. Shortly thereafter, she toured the world for the first time, embarking in 1987 in support of Who's That Girl. Over the ensuing four decades, Madonna would ignite the world with the most controversial and dynamic pop shows ever mounted, selling out nearly every tour — in its entirety — in seconds. To date, Madonna has performed about 700 shows across 11 concert tours, generating over $1 billion in ticket sales, and is the highest-grossing female touring artist of all time.

    Broke Disappointed Madonna Fan

by Brokeagain on 9/10/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna was over 2 hrs late for her show! Complete disrespect, inconsiderate, unprofessional and honestly rude with no explanation or apology. We will NEVER waste that money again on her! Way too much for these tickets! $200.00 each for a few songs along with the crap about guns ect...

    Madonna was disappointing

    2 Hour Delay

by DanaChris on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

The show was delayed by a solid 2 hours. That was a shocker to me. The entire show had a morbid touch to it. That I was not expecting. A lot of sexual undertones, religious bashing (Christian bashing, of course), and very few 'happy-poppy' songs, which were what I essentially came there for. Madonna has really changed her style for this tour and I'm not pleased the least to say. I was expecting some weird stuff but not to this extent. Almost the entire show was devoted to blood and gore and of course, lots of sex. If you're looking to hear her older hits, forget it. This is not the tour for it.

    Madonna was disappointing

by pattypaulz on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

I love her....the show started at 10:30 when it was suppose to start at 8:00pm. If you have a concert and say it starts at a certain time then start it. Even with an opening band and in this case was a DJ she could have started at 9:00 at the latest. She did not sign a lot of her old songs which was a major disappointment. THe ones she did sing were just pieces of them. She totally destroyed Like a Virgin. All in All it was an experience and I am glad I went

    Forget about it!

by Jakeson on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

What was that Gun Shooting sequence about?!? "I'm going to shoot you in the head? For real? Very offensive and highly inappropriate in this day and age when we are trying to handle Gun violence/control issue. She does a perfromance like that with all of her politcal points of view? I don't get it. This will be the last Madonna concert I will be going to. Kept waiting 2.5 hours for that? I don't know who's advising her but like most celebrities they're probably afraid to tell her the truth. Concert was for 90 minutes and confusing. Not worth the hype.

well thank g-d for the over the hang the seats we were under, there also was a huge pole blocking my veiw . Lets just say Madonna is not the Material Girl she used to be it seems to me she added a lot of fluff to her show. Not sure how the rain affected the stage or the show but she should have called it off till Sunday instead. I have seen her many many times and this was my least favorite.

    Good show, but 10:30 start?!

by Bensoncwong on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Show was good, lots of new stuff. Unique sets. Could have been great, but show did not start until 10:30 and did not end until 12:15. soaking wet and cold. never waited so long before. could have started earlier and send people home in a reasonable time.

    Madonna Yankee Stadium

by KnicksDr on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Madonna is totally thoughtless an d inconsiderate. She kept her fans waiting in the rain for over 2.5 hours. She did not show up onstage till after 10:30pm for an 8:00pm concert. I have to admit she was great once she did appear! NEVER AGAIN OUTDOORS!

Madonna put on an awesome show as usual with excellent stage produciton, sound, video montage, choreography, art direction and a meaningful theme. She is a true artist!! Her message of acceptance and tolerance was meaningful and powerful and make me pround to be a New Yorker and an American!

Madonna performed well but the concert was poor

by Generodis on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

POORLY ORGANIZED IMO, A FEW HICKUPS HERE AND THERE BEFORE THE CONCERT, MADE US WAIT FOR 2.5 HRS! THE SHOW ITSELF WAS DECENT, BUT THE REPERTOIRE WAS AWFUL... NEW SONGS THAT I DIDNT LIKE THOUGHT SHE'D PERFORM SOME POPULAR SINGLES BUT NO.... WE LEFT WAY BEFORE IT WAS OVER

    Awesome Performance!!

    by frequentfan2 on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

I have to say that Madonna is truly worth the wait. My boyfriend and I sat in the bleachers of Yankee Stadium for nearly two and a half hours before it started. It was raining and a little chilly. But, Madonna delivers as usual. This is about the fifth concert that I went to of hers. Her performance was awesome. I highly recommend it.

Madonna does not seem to care about her fans

by IRKS on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

I have seen 3 Madonna concerts but will NOT pay money to attend anymore. It's obvious that she does not care about her fans and I can not support an artist who does not respect the people that made her famous. How can she justify making her fans stand in a downpour for over 1 1/2 hours before she decided to come on stage? When the ticket says 8 pm fans show up at 7. They don't expect to stand around for many hours waiting for the artist to come on stage. I would have thought that after critics complained about her going on late on Thur night that she would have considered going on earlier knowing that her fans were standing for hours in pouring rain! I am so disappointed to see her care so little about her fan base. If, for some unknown reason she couldn't go on early, then play longer than 90 minutes to show her fans that she really does appreciate them braving the weather to see her. I have defended Madonna for 20 years against her critics but I now have also lost all respect for her because of how little respect she has for people who paid hard-earned money to see her perform.

    Madonna Rules

    Flash over substance

by UnluckyStar on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Thankfully I read a prior review and knew better than to show up at 8:00. The show did not start until close to 10:30. Seriously? No opening act - just piped in music. Clearly Madonna's time is more valuable than her fans' and she knows the poor suckers will wait it out...in the rain, no less. Most of the set was new and a couple of the older songs were reworked, not altogether succesfully. Some of the newer stuff was good, but maybe a bit more Madonna stage time would allow her to play a few more songs from throughout the years and make the crowd happy. There really was not too much dancing going on apart from the throngs in the pit.

    Madonna was forgettable

by Notafananylonger on 9/10/12Yankee Stadium - Bronx

Purchased tickets to Thursday Sept 6th performance at Yankee Stadium clearly states 8:00PM to 11:00PM...At last minute a DJ performs music we don't care for, not was part of the ticket when purchased, and Madonna did not show up until 10:18PM. She performed a whole 9 songs and was done in 1 hour and 50 minutes. I fully expect a refund to the worst concert ever attended !
