  • An Unforgettable Night with Macaulay Culkin

by Shaun and Shayna on 12/16/24New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

An Unforgettable Night with Macaulay Culkin The night my sister (age 7) and I (age 10) met Macaulay Culkin was nothing short of magical. It was like stepping into one of our favorite movies and living the dream. From the moment we saw him, we were star-struck. My parents' all-time favorite movie is "Home Alone,"and meeting its star was an experience that felt like a scene right out of the film. Macaulay Culkin was incredibly kind and approachable. He took the time to talk to us, share stories, and even signed our memorabilia with a warm smile. The way he interacted with everyone, especially us kids, showed that he genuinely cared about his fans. It felt surreal to be in the presence of someone we had seen on screen so many times, yet he was so down-to-earth and friendly. The entire evening felt like a fairy tale come true. Meeting Macaulay Culkin wasn’t just a highlight; it became the best night of our lives, an event my sister and I will cherish forever. The joy and excitement of that night created memories that we’ll carry with us always, and it brought our family even closer together, bonding over a beloved character and cherished movie moments.

First of all, revisiting this silly but precious movie, HOME ALONE, was a treat in itself. Yes, we can rent it or fish out the old DVD on the shelf. But there was something special about seeing the movie with a huge crowd made up of small, attentive children and older adults as well. The only disappointment was the awful print of the movie that was shown on screen. I guess there are no remasterings of this classic available these days, but there should be! As for seeing the 44 year old Macauly Culkin in person, it was a lot of fun, especially when he told us that he watches the movie with his two year old and three year old sons who enjoy the movie but have no clue that Kevin is Daddy as a little boy. Of course, the time will come someday, and they will be in awe of their father. Over all, it was truly a night of nostalgia as the advertisement for the event indicated.

We didn’t even end up going into the show… with 3 negative interactions on the streets from the car to the venue we decided not to risk it.

  • Great experience

It was a good show. Loved watching the movie on a giant screen. It was not interactive and felt a bit rigid during questions and answers. I was very off put that he was vaping during q&a. Happy we had not brought my daughter and didn’t have to try and explain that to her

Overall it was amazing to get to meet such ana amazing movie icon , it really made my wife's day getting to see someone she beloved as an individual. I was however disappointed how the price for VIP tickets and the fact we couldn't at least buy an autograph for what we paid. Overall it was a memorable night for both of us. Also we were a little disappointed there wasn't any merch cause we were ready to buy.

  • A childhood dream realized at a cost

by Carl on 12/13/24Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

The first thing I want to make very clear is that my partner and I had a wonderful experience. The theater was amazing, the Q&A was fun, and getting to meet Mac fulfilled my partner's childhood dream. With that being said we couldn't help but feel a little guilty about the whole thing. Mac was very warm and friendly, but seeing him was like an Orca at Seaworld. There was a sort of sadness in his eyes that you might only see in the eyes of a prisoner sea mamal forced to do tricks until he dies. I hope he's happy and I wish him and his family the best. We're very excited for Fallout season 2.

  • Christmas Recaptured

by Wendy F on 12/13/24Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't sure what to expect from the event and left so pleasantly happy. I got to watch the movie in a theater without cell phones and with family which brought back such good memories of what the holiday time can be like. Macaulay Culkin did such a good job of making the audience laugh and clap as he talked about his time on the set, funny memories of Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern and what is was like to be a nine year old thrust into stardom. He remembered that he had a wide diversity of age groups and I loved how he involved the kids attending the movie. The theater is so beautifully decorated and the staff did a great job helping me find my seats. The best was seeing a crowd of people wearing memorabilia of Home Alone phrases and getting to be kids again as well. Worth every penny!

  • Once in a lifetime, Very Personable

by Matt on 12/13/24Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

Macaulay was definitely different from what you might expect 35 years later but an amazing person. You could tell he truly cared in impressing his fans and made sure during the meet and greet to talk to every single person and genuinely looked like he loved being there. For someone that impacted your life and such a memorable movie as well as the memories it’s brought my family. I am so glad I decided to go. Thank you so much for the memories you’ve brought my family and I hope you and your family get to experience the same!

  • Home Alone Experience

by Kim on 12/11/24Rosemont Theatre - RosemontRating: 2 out of 5

My friend and I love Home Alone, and have done many experiences together. We were excited for this experience. Unfortunately I wished the Q & A session was more deliberate. Meaning, it seemed too much off the cuff and casual and I didn’t leave feeling like, wow, I actually learned something. Or heard something interesting. We all thought we were going to be able to ask questions and it seemed like there was a way to do that before the show and the questions were already picked…. Unfortunately, I was looking for an experience with Macaulay Culkin for my $100, and all I got was a viewing of a movie I’ve seen a billion times. I feel moving forward the Q & A session should be more planned out and scripted to be sure we get a lot of content, and/or they should open it up to the audience for a half hour or so and all us to ask random questions.

  • Loved it!

A wonderful experience for people of all ages. Absolutely loved it!

  • A True Appreciation for Macaulay Culkin

by Morgan on 12/9/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Home Alone is my family’s favorite Christmas movie. We watch it all year long, not just at Christmas. Myself, my husband and our 6 year old daughter attended this event. We all had a wonderful time! My daughter even got to go on stage with Macaulay for trivia at the end of the Questions and Answers part of the event where she received an autographed item/gift from him. He was so good with her, and the other three kids that got a turn to go on stage. He bent down to her level so he could talk to her face to face, he was funny and warm. He asked her name and engaged with her beyond just the trivia question. He even gave her a high five, fist bump and did some little finger tap with her. We also did the Meet and Greet at the end. Everything ran smoothly and Macaulay was so caring, charismatic, funny and humble. I have been a lifelong admirer of his entire journey. To me, he is not just an actor, he is a person. There are many layers to him and he has a depth many may not realize. It is also very obvious he has a kind heart and sweet soul. Growing up in the spotlight would be hard on anyone. The way he has handled everything he has gone through over the years is truly admirable. He was kind enough to want to put on something special for his fans even though I’m sure it was not easy for him in many ways. He is a true inspiration. I would definitely go to support him at another event. I highly recommend the Home Alone Tour.

  • Best experience ever

We got the VIP and we had a great time. As a massive fan I’m very thankful for the opportunity!

  • Extremely boring

by Ginger on 12/9/24Rosemont Theatre - RosemontRating: 2 out of 5

I brought all my children and we enjoyed the movie, it's a classic, but afterwards it was awkward and boring. The facilitator could've been more animated, it was monotonous and so boring we had to leave. Not worth our time or money.

  • Macaulay is the best!!

by Bond on 12/9/24Rosemont Theatre - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing. Macaulay was so cool and so sweet. The night began with a screening of Home Alone, then there was an interview where he talked about making the movie, experiences on set, and life after making movies.💗 He did audience trivia and gave away prizes he autographed including a toothbrush, and easy mac 😂. Then we waited to meet him and he was so gracious. He cared enough to ask everyone’s name and where we were from. Then my 4 year old asked him for a ball and he gave him one 🥹 Christmas dreams came true and we will always remember this special event!

  • Not the right venue

by Steph on 12/9/24Rosemont Theatre - RosemontRating: 2 out of 5

Macauley was great and we had an enjoyable time hearing about his experience on Home Alone and throughout his career. That being said, I don’t think the Rosemont Theatre was the right venue for the event. We were up in the balcony and the one screen they had on stage for the movie was way too small. When Macauley came out on stage for his portion, we could hear him just fine but being further back, it was too far to actually see him. It would have been nice if they had screens for us to better experience this event.

  • Pleasant. A bit late and long for whole fam

    by E Claire on 12/9/24Rosemont Theatre - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

It was long :) Macaulay was down to earth surprisingly. Needed to be a bit earlier for the whole fam to enjoy. 3 hour event with no break.
