Not what they used to be

by LesLodi on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Definitely not the original band. Their new songs pretty much stopped the crowd as they took a restroom break. Old stuff was good. Encore of Freebird was good, but wished they would have played the long version. Overall, they just seemed tired and the show was short. I drove from Lodi and would have loved to hear that song.

Band great--sound quality not so good

by JoesMom6 on 9/21/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - Albuquerque

Loved everything about the venue---the location, weather, etc were fantastic....Band was great put on a good show....but, the sound quality was really poor. I don't know whether it was band's equip or venue's equip but bass was very distorted and made hearing any details very bad....took my 13 yr old son to the concert (one of his fav bands) and he liked it, but also commented about poor sound quality

    venue / show

by lolaWOLPERT on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

first of all, the winery is not marked at the turn off, and neither was 6 Mile Road. We had to make a u-turn and basically follow a few cars. The road turns in to this HORENDOUS dirt and full-of-rocks road that was horrible on my car. You'd think with what this venue makes on concerts they could afford to pave to road. We have seen Skynyrd more times than I can count. This was my least favorite performance. His voice was really gruff. Los Lonely Boys set should ahve been longer, they were great. But i knew they would be since we have seen them before.

by live4today on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

The venue was beautiful and the music was great! Los Lonely Boy's doing How Far is Heaven just moved me again. Lynryd Skynyrd rocked it to the last note. I was out of my seat dancing for the whole 2nd half!

Evening in Murphys with Skynyrd & The Boys

by Algiers on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Los Lonley Boys were great. They could have played a little longer. Skynyrd kicked butt. Van Zant's voice was a little rough but they got the crowd on their feet. Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys is a great venue.

    Lynrd Skynard was great

by Steffknick on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Los Lonely Boys did not play Hollywood and I was looking forward to that song. Lynard Skynard was great - brought me back. Bathroom situation needs to be better. Venue was great - it was really pretty out there. We did the buffet and the food was awesome. We will be there again.

    Still Rockin'

by jhawk48 on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Lynyrd Skynyrd may have only one original band member left in its 40+ years of existance, but they still rock! Johnny Van Zant's voice was a little gone during the first couple of songs, but as he warmed up, so did the energy and the crowd. Not only were we treated to many of the old familiar tunes from the 70's, but the band performed a couple of songs from thier upcoming album, God & Guns due out 9/29. I have seen many classic rock bands perform who just aren't the same, but I recommend LS for all true rockers--you will not be disappointed.

Syknyrd was good, but way too short.

by ABQCJ on 9/21/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - Albuquerque

Good music, good venue, but only 1.5 hours of music, including encore. Come on --- for that kind of money, 2+ hours is required.

    Los Lonely Boys were great

by anonymous25 on 9/21/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

I loved the Los Lonely Boys. Their music was great and the sound level was perfect. We had lawn seating. We could still talk and listen to the music at the same time. I also enjoyed Lynyrd Skynyrd. However, their sound people were not as good. The music was too loud and the bass was too much. It would have been a lot better if they had toned it down just a bit.

    disappointing

by gramps123 on 9/21/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - Albuquerque

Lynyrd Skynyrd is powered by guitars. Too bad you couldn't hear them half the time. Sitting in the 6th row, center stage, I was ready for a great show. Whose idea was it to have the bass overpower everything else!?! I had a good time, but the quality of the sound sucked.

    Lynyrd Skynyrd rocked the house

by CHRS on 9/21/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - Albuquerque

I grew up listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd but had never been able to attend a concert. Last nights show was awesome. It was everything I had hoped for and more. I was on my feet the entire night and never wanted it to end. They have not missed a beat and I would go to another show in a minute.

Lynard and the Lonely Boys were great.

by Stolie on 9/20/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

Its always exciting to see a concert for me because I see so few of them but I'm catching up. This particular one was awesome because I didn't expect the Lynard-Skynard guys to be so explosive. They were great. So were the lonely Boys but their sound system did not do them Justice. I enjoyed both bands especially the three lead guitar players for Lynard.

    Lynard Skynard was awful

by feyone on 9/20/09Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - Murphys

I was extremely disappointed with the show. They were off key & a total waste of time & money. I left early, not even worth staying for, never mind the drive to Murphy's.
