Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • Lucinda Williams ROCKS!

    by SKK273 on 7/16/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Her music, lyrics, and sultry voice take you to a place of total wonder!!!

  • Lucinda Williams palyed with confidence and grace.

by Kycolonel on 7/16/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda William's show on June 10 was amazing. She had a crack band that opened the show with an instrumental set that allowed the band a chance to warm up prior to playing with Lucinda. They played songs from such diverse bands as Television and Led Zeppelin. Lucinda played with confidence and grace. She seemed to have less angst and her voice was a lot clearer. In the past she a times was almost guttural as she tried too hard. She seemed more at ease and played her classics and songs from her new CD. Overall it was a great show.

  • Typically Wonderful Performance

by Recordsgalore on 7/16/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great, but does she do anything other than satisfy? I think not. Winding through a set list that included the AC/DC track that winds down her latest studio record, as well as "old" favorites back from the folkie days, she continues to amaze me. I took my daughter and birthday brother, Howie to the show and I think they were equally as enthralled as I to hear Lucinda work through the steamy Monday night in Tiger land. Afterwards we hung outside the tour bus and true to form she popped out to sign autographs for fans, even mugging for our camera phones for a full 1/2 hour. She had to be exhausted but was exquisitely gracious and funny. Thanks Lucinda, you made our night - and you scored two new fans that I'm sure will drop what they're doing anytime they hear you are coming near! I hope to catch up with you again soon at Cain's! We miss you already! Steve

  • Lucinda Delivered the Goods

by KFoz on 7/16/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

But so did her band. Great night at an underrated venue. Great acoustics and sound.

  • Lucinda brought her "A" game!

    by BoBo711 on 7/15/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda Williams can still bring it folks! She was teamed up with a new band and they were great together. Lucinda played mostly her upbeat songs, which was just the way I like her. This is the third time my wife and I have seen her and we agreed that this might have been the best show yet.

  • Lucinda tore my heart out....

by BigSteen on 7/15/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 5 out of 5

If you expected an uplifting sugar coated rendition of life - you are not a Lucinda Williams fan. Her broken heart, life can't get worse, no where to go but up tunes can definitely tap your emotions and provide the motivation for self reflection and heavy drinking. I have seen Lucinda in larger venues, but the intimate confines of the Madison Theater in Covington, KY are a perfect place to experience her. If there is any band you want to hear and they are playing the Madison, jump on the opportunity.

  • Lucinda Williams rocked the Madison!!

by hoppinfrog on 7/15/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Met up with friends at the Madison after a crazy 12 hour workday. Missed the opening act, but in time for Lucinda. She was dynamic! Blew away all the stress of my day in no time. After a FABULOUS show, I bought a CD & listened all the way home. Can't wait for her to come back to town!

  • Lucinda was fantastic!

by Celstyle on 7/15/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

I had begun to like Lucinda's music a little more than a year prior to seeing her in concert, so let me tell ya - if you like her too, just see her and her band live. She was great. She has one of those unique voices that you don't always hear. She said she was dealing with a cough that night, as she had just driven overnight from a weekend festival, but after she got warmed up with a few songs, she was on fire, having fun and making the crowd roar with applause. I would go again. Definitely.

  • Lucinda's performancewas top notch!!

by SKinder on 7/15/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed Lucinda and her band....they did a great job! I have been a fan of hers for at least 15 years and I was thrilled to be able to see her in KC. The Lounge was very nice ...relaxed, upbeat, stylish and service was excellent! My sister and I had a wonderful time and I will be watching for more events to attend at Harrahs. Thanks for bringing awesome talent to Kansas !!

  • Fabulous

by EASTER on 7/15/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

This was great music despite the fact that Lucinda had allergies from Nashville. I missed the talking in between songs although I know there were a few comments. I do have to say that I forgot how long it takes for the main act to go on(9:30) and thought that since it was a Monday, that perhaps she would have played earlier. Love, love, love all of the music! BLUE NOTE:YOU MUST STOP PEOPLE FROM WALKING AROUND CONSTANTLY DURING PERFORMANCES, IT REALLY DETRACTS FROM THE VENUE!!!!! SOOOO RUDE TO LUCINDA!

  • Even better live!

by rocknrollheart on 7/15/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

My partner and I thought Lucinda Williams was amazing. She did play a couple of songs I was unfamiliar with, but we loved it all. Only having been a fan for 4 or 5 years, I didn't know that she wrote the song "Passionate Kisses" recorded by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Lucinda is a great songwriter, and hilarious, too! (Maybe only if you have an off beat sense of humor, lol) If you like her music, don't miss her concerts....

  • Excellent but way too loud

by bexwilliams on 7/15/09VooDoo Lounge at Harrah's Casino North Kansas City - North Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda and her band were excellent. It was a top notch performance and I would have liked to give it a 5 star rating. However, the decibel level was absurdly loud. She is a top notch singer song writer and a high caliber performer, the pumped up volume actually detracted from her music and her band, Buick 6. I will think twice before attending another concert at the Voodoo Lounge in North Kansas City, but I would go hear her again in a different venue

  • Lucinda is Awesome!

by TheRebel on 7/15/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely an unforgettable evening. She played everything I wanted to hear. She was primed and her band was the best. Although I appreciate the history and ambiance of the venue (the Vogue) I do look forward to seeing her elsewhere so I can sit down and see her (and stand when I want to). I will definately go see her again and again.

  • Lucinda

by AJindy on 7/15/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda was great, band was great as back-up, and even as opener, but would have liked to know they were going to open for 1 hr before. They did not communicate the intent to open for her, or that she wouldn't be out for so long. I almost left thinking Lucinda was sick or not going to perform.

  • I Love Lucinda

by pharmer on 7/15/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Finally! It's been a while since Indianapolis has seen Lucinda! We saw her in L.A. when she performed entire albums. Lucinda is never disappointing and she rocked the house (little Vogue in Indianapolis). The people in Indianapolis don't seem to know how to rock like the people in L.A., so it was a different atmosphere. She wasn't quite as quirky and personable as she was the last time I saw her. But her songs never fail!

  • Lucinda Williams is fantastic!

    by Amanda201 on 7/15/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda gives the crowd everything they want and expect plus more!

  • Lucinda rocked it!

by Indy on 7/15/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Great vibe, excellent audience, Lucinda and her band know how to play and what to play to keep their audience rocking in their seats. This was my first time seeing her in many years and it was one of my favorite concerts of the year so far.

  • Lucinda Williams is an American Treasure!

by NuuMoon on 7/14/09House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda NEVER disappoints. Musically, she is both a perfectionist and a phenomenal lyricist-songstress. LOVE HER TWANG-THANG!

  • Lucinda Williams most excellent, as always

by steppenwolf on 7/14/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda Williams is one of the best live performer touring today. Every show I see is better than the one before. The show at The Madison was incredible. She played an excellent set including songs from every era of her work. The highlight of the show for me was Righteously. She played for a good 2 hours and her band, Buick 6 were a wonderful compliment to her vocals.
