LUCINDA WILLIAMS
THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.
It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.
Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.
My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.
The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.
Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

Wow! What a show! Thought Lucinda was the headliner. Never heard of The Drive-By Truckers. They were great!
Lucinda was great and I was able to hear every word she sang. Not so The Drive By Truckers. All the lyrics were drowned out by the guitars. The piano could not be heard either. I left before they were done. I don't know if it was because the was sound poorly mixed for Drive By Truckers or just how they sound live. I would definitely go see Lucinda Williams again, though.
The light show coming from the stage of the Drive By Truckers was terrible . Lights in our faces throughout the show We were tempted to leave a few times but we toughed it out but It definitely had a negative affect on our experience . Worst stage lighting I’ve ever seen
After suffering through 30 minutes of a terrible opening act and a 30 minute intermission we finally got a 60 minute Lucinda Williams performance without any encore. She performance was as expected and the band was awesome. In summary: one of the worst ripoff shows I have experienced in live music performances. Very disappointing.
Lucinda and Drive By Truckers we’re both amazing. Excellent double bill. Another great show at Parker Playhouse. Great venue
Lucinda never disappoints. She sounds as great as ever. Intimate performance in a small venue.
The show was incredible. Her voice is perfect and the venue was great too. I'd never been there before. If you get a chance to see Lucinda Williams, definitely go. You won't be disappoionted at all
Good show in a quaint venue. Lucinda was gravelly and powerful. Dwight Yoakam lit up an older, generally subdued crowd. Long lines at concessions made them seem understaffed. Easy parking, clean restrooms.
I really liked the shows! There was technical problems but handled very professionally.
We went to this show primarily for Steve Earle, and secondarily for Lucinda Williams. Both of them were great, but we thought Lucinda interacted with the crowd better than Steve did. It seemed that most of the crowd came to see Dwight Yoakum, but he is not our style. He did put on a good show and the crowd was into it. Our rating is as follows: Lucinda & Steve tied for #1. King Leg and Dwight Yoakum tied for #2. Concert was 5 star, venue was 4 because of handicap accessibility problems and the fact that the ticket purchase seat location did not match actual location.
I was a fan of Lucinda Williams until this concert. Her voice sounded worn. She seemed to need to read the lyrics to her own songs, and cursed using the F-bomb and she couldn't pass up the opportunity to slip in her political opinion. Other than that she was fine.
Lucinda Williams was an unforgettable artist. Steve Earle and Dwight Yokum were also very good. The Ascend Is an excellent venue. It was a great show all around.
Expected to see and hear a good performance, Instead I have to listen to her political ranting, disappointing.
First time seeing Lucinda and was very impressed. She sounded fantastic and loved her voice
Dwight Yokum was awesome but performed last. Lucienda williams took up way too much stage time leaving little for Dwight. His show was great. Leave Lucienda off next time!
Loved the show but she is one of my favorites. Buick 6 is a talented band.
Everyone was great Lucinda was drunk I think and Steve Earl should stick to music and keep his politics to himself. The opener and Dwight made the show!
Long line to get in. Cant believe Lucinda was not opening act as her performance reflected. She should also leave her LIBERAL political views at home.
Lucinda was spectacular and Steve Earle was very good. We didn’t stay for Dwight Yoakam. We like the Lawn but there were several issues. The new security checks machines didn’t seem to be working so everyone needed to be hand sanded. That and the fact that they delayed the gate opening by a half and hour lead to long waits to get in and a delayed start. Finally, the music preshow and during intermission was ridiculous. They played the same five 60s bubblegum top 40 songs over and over. If they knew anything about the artists that night there would have been a to of great music to play.
Great show. All the performers were on their game.
