Two-time Emmy award winner Louie Anderson is one of the country's most recognized and adored comics and was named by Comedy Central as "One of 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time."
Currently he is headlining in his own show, "Louie-Larger Than Life" at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino on the famed Las Vegas Strip.
Anderson began his career at a comedy club in his native Minneapolis, when on a dare from friends; he got up on stage and performed.
His big break came in 1984 when he appeared on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" who was so impressed with the comic; he called him out for a rare and coveted "second bow."
Anderson's stand-up comedy career skyrocketed. Known as a "clean" comedian, his stories about growing up in the Midwest, being one of 11 children and dealing with an alcoholic father provided endless material for the comic with audiences of all types relating to his
everyday life experiences.
The multi-talented performer went on to do television and movies starring in his own CBS sitcom "The Louie Show" and his own comedy specials for both HBO and Showtime.
Anderson also has guest starred on such popular sitcoms as "Scrubs" and "Grace Under Fire," dramas like "Touched by an Angel" and "Chicago Hope." He also has appeared in memorable featured roles in such films as "Coming to America" opposite Eddie Murphy.
The multi-talented comedian/actor's resume also includes the syndicated hit series, "Family Feud" and being executive producer and creator of the two-time Emmy Award winning animated series on FOX "Life With Louie."
Anderson is also a best selling author and has written three books including the best selling first book Dear Dad-Letters From An Adult Child in 1989.
Anderson, a humanitarian, is co-founder of the H.E.R.O. organization whose mission is to empower people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to attain maximum self-sufficiency.
He also spends many hours working with numerous other charities in keeping with his philosophy of giving back to his community whenever he can.
I've never laughed so hard for so long. Louie's a comic genious. Loved the show.
For my entire life I have only known Louie's stand up from a VHS tape he released in 1989, Mom! Louie's Looking at Me Again!... The fact that it is fabulously funny always made me wonder what his live performances were like (if he still did live performances). I'm happy to say HE STILL GOTS IT! He was better than I even expected and the venue price was very reasonable... I guess all I'll be wondering about now is when will he be back? :)
He had us laughing from start to finish. Amazing flow of stories with humor and reality. Very in touch with the audience.. A natural! Louie you are still red hot funny! Good humor. Very natural.
My husband and I haven't laughed that hard in YEARS....Louie hasn't missed a beat... Better than ever!
The same as through the years watching Louie, he shows everyone the humor of every day life. I don't know if he actually has a "routine" but if he does, he makes it so subtle that you think he's just one of those naturally funny people that can keep you amused, laughing and interested in hearing what he's going to come up with next. A really good show, laid back and just keeps you laughing. He seems like he'd be a nice guy to know personally. Keep up the good work Louie. You're a master at what you do.
We were still laughing the next day! It was an unforgettable show. We would definitely come to see Louie again.
I would recommend Louie to my friends and family. The Casino personnel relating to the show were great!
He always makes me laugh! Louie is definitely worth seeing.
AWESOME!!! WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE LOUIE ANDERSON AGAIN
Louie Anderson was hysterical! We enjoyed his show immensely! He is so funny talking about his childhood & parents! We laughed the whole show! Just Great!!!
We see many shows in Atlantic City and many comedy acts as well. To us this probably was one of the most boring shows ever. It's not easy to deliver 1 hour and 15 minutes of comedy, but we think that he used to be better at it in the past ( we have seen him on TV and You Tube). He needs to put a lot more spice in his lines.
Louie Anderson was a fabulous performer live - We got to see him at the Trump Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. After being a big fan of the television show, some years back, it was great to enjoy his comedy live from his mouth!
I hadn't seen Louie in several years doing standup. He's still funny focusing on his family and hitting 50! I can relate to both. It was great to see him again. Do go if he's in your area! You won't be disappointed!
Louie Anderson can still make people laugh without resorting to crude/profane humor. One of his greatest gifts is using everyday events in such a humorous way that everyone finds them funny. We've been fans of his for a long time and still find him to be as talented as ever. His show at Trump did not disappoint.
Louie can take everyday life and make it funny without dirty words or sexual references...you don't see that anymore. Great Show!
I saw Louie two years ago while here in Vegas and brought a friend this time who had not seen him live before. My cheeks still hurt this morning, as do hers from laughing consistently for nearly 90 minutes. I just love his everyday events humour and his reflection of things gone by. I would higly recommend this very funny fellow. Worth every dime!!
I was really unsure of what to expect, but he was hilarious! A must see! The time flew by.
I enjoyed his show very much. Its been a long time since I laughed that hard. He was a real crowd pleaser. I will be telling all my friends and definatly recommend his humor to to all.
So funny my face hurt from laughing! It's been a long time since I laughed so hard!
This was a very good show, lots and lots of laughing. We enjoyed the show very much!
