Los Angeles Kings History
The Kings were founded in 1967 as part of the six-team influx that saw the NHL expand to 12 teams. There were some shining stars; Rogie Vachon was a stellar goaltender, while Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne lit the lamp at a furious pace alongside his "Triple Crown" line mates Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer. The Kings’ biggest postseason success during this time was with 1982's "Miracle on Manchester," where the Kings made the largest comeback in NHL playoff history to win 6-5 over the heavily favored Edmonton Oilers, who were led by a 21-year-old phenom named Wayne Gretzky.
Six years later, the Kings landed The Great One. Alongside fellow stars Jari Kurri, Luc Robitaille, Rob Blake, and Kelly Hrudey, the team flirted with success for several years, ultimately losing to the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final in 1993.
Shortly after the turn of the century, the Kings broke through in a big way, winning the Stanley Cup Championship in 2012 and 2014 under coach Darryl Sutter.

We are the Champions...again! Just, awesome!!! GKG!
The kings really do seem to be a tight group of unforgettable players. Sutter is something else, but clearly if you listen to him he makes sense haha. I only kinda wish more players had spoken, but it was a great treat to the fans and I look forward to doing it again and again, GO KINGS GO!
It was exciting, my son and I had a great time celebrating The Kings Stanley Cup Championship Rally, hopefully we can do it again next year.
Great event. Go killings go. Pretty much no bad seats in the house
It was awesome, wish they could have one every year
Uh, we won the Cup. It's back in Los Angeles where it belongs!
Go Kings Go. Had a great time, very cool. Doors could of been open earlier
Lots of people so take the subway like I did. Overall it was fun. Would've been good to see the front of the staples center on big screens or something.
How could you not recommend a Stanley Cup Rally to your friends?! It was an amazing event and the LA Kings and city of Los Angeles kept it classy.
I was very disappointed that we could not get into the plaza because we did not know that it took an additional ticket this year. Would have paid a small fee but you need to notify the public better for the next time we were outside on the street and could see nothing. We would have been better off to have gone inside and watched the jumbo tron. Still love the Kings and all the staff but I think this area should be addressed for the rally next year since we will repeat. GO KING GO
So proud of my LA Kings on winning their second Stanley Cup in 3 years. Wish I could be equally proud of the way this event was set up. Whereas, the previous Stanley Cup rally ticket allowed me to get in front of Staples Center to view the end of the parade, this time that was NOT the case. I was told only press and VIP members could stand in front of Staples. Perhaps this could have been disclosed in an e-mail or when tickets were obtained. Thank goodness for the rally inside Staples which was short, action-packed and I got to see my favorite players along with LA Kings staff.
We came from Orange County, allowed enough time to get there early, found easy (and cheap $10) parking just two blocks away, yeah!!! The waiting for the Parade was ok and the Parade was great. BUT, there was no direction after the parade trying to get into Staples. Seems we were sent around in circles and it seems many of the Security personnel around LA Live had really no idea where to sent us. We were sent from one side to another and yet another and then even back to where we started, not good. There should have been some direction on the streets to let us know where to go. We spent way too much time trying to find a way to get into Staples. But when we were finally inside we were part of a GREAT RALLY. Go Kings Go, and thanks for an exciting day!!!
Would of gotten 5 stars but LA Live /Staple center staff not communicating. told to walk through swams of people 3 places.
Absolutely fantastic celebration for our Los Angeles Kings!!
The rally atmosphere was electric! The highlights replay of Playoff Rounds 1, 2, and 3 as well as the Final on the jumbo screen was a fitting tribute to the perseverance of this Kings team on their journey to the Cup. This is my second rally inside Staples, the first one being the 2012 Championship Rally. I look forward to many more in the coming years! Go Kings Go!
I missed out on the rally two years ago when the KINGS won their first Stanley Cup. This event is just awesome to see the team all together in a more relaxed atmosphere. To hear the heartfelt messages and speeches that each member of the team had to say about one another. If there was another opportunity to go to this event again, I would do it in a heartbeat. I love my team. GO KINGS GO!!
This being the 2nd Victory Party I have attended, I must say is only gets sweeter with each one! Cant wait to do it again Next year!
Great event. Saw all the players and Stanley cup. Heard players and coach speak about their season experience.
Great time, crowd, and Parade. Hope we get to do it again next year.
It was a blast. It was great being with other die hard Kings fans.
