Los Angeles Football Club History
Los Angeles FC was founded in October 2014, days after another Los Angeles–based MLS club, Chivas USA, folded. An ownership group containing names ranging from Peter Guber and Magic Johnson to Mia Hamm, Nomar Garciaparra and Will Ferrell, among others, contributed to the unique blend of star power and success that gave LAFC a running start.
Bob Bradley, who has had success coaching on the collegiate, MLS, international and European pro levels, was chosen in 2017 as Los Angeles FC's first head coach. Los Angeles FC held their own in their inaugural season, qualifying for the MLS Cup playoffs with a record 57 points for a first-year team, as well as reaching the semifinals of the U.S. Open Cup. They followed that up with a then-record 72 points in 2019 to win the Supporters' Shield and reached the conference finals of the MLS Cup Playoffs. The high-powered Black and Gold offense was led by 2019 MLS MVP and Golden Boot winner Carlos Vela, 2020 Golden Boot winner Diego Rossi and forward Adama Diomande, who played under Bradley when both were with the Norwegian club Stabæk in 2015. Bradley coached LAFC up until the end of 2021.
Led by head coach Steve Cherundolo, LAFC won their first MLS Cup in 2022, in addition to taking home the Supporters' Shield. In 2023, the team placed second in the interleague CONCACAF Champions League tournament, and following the regular season, All-Star winger Denis Bouanga was awarded the MLS Golden Boot. As part of the annual "El Tráfico" rivalry match with the LA Galaxy, LAFC helped set the MLS single match attendance record with 82,110 fans gathering at the Rose Bowl on July 4.

Great game, atmosphere and experience if you want a family friendly soccer environment
Love it it doesnt even felt u were there like it was my first time in the banc of cali. The fans are everything even tho both ur teams were playing
From the beginning to the end incredible. The lafc fans are the best
I had fun with my girlfriend that night and i loved it. Thanks ticket master.
My first MLS game and all I can say is Fantastic!!! The adrenaline was pumping!!!
Love going to see my favorite Major League Soccer team the LAFC experience is a must do when in LA.
LAFC is the best I am a HUGE fan of Carlos Vela , I have been watching him play since he was with the Mexico team and once I seen him play I have just been all about him my room is everything of him my phone the same , I Love LAFC soooo much and I will be seeing you guys in October
I love the environment that feel with all the staff and how they take care of you. The team is great and I liked it, first time been there and I want to go back
I’ve only missed 3 games within the 2 year span and every game has been electric with amazing fans and amazing players! GO LAFC!
I spent the first half with the 3252 uprooters section and the second half in the Founder Club. Both amazing experiences.
There exists a very symbiotic relationship between the fans and team-quite refreshing! Both enthusiastic and appreciative of each other -one endzone starting singing/chanting 30min before game and never stopped!
LAFC is a very unique welcoming club I loved it will definitely be going to more games and chant all night!!!! WE ARE BLACK AND GOLD 🖤💛
I attended many MLS games years ago and never did I believe there’d ever be an atmosphere like that at a soccer game in the US. LAFC has built a tremendous following, and the ambience was intense even considering the stadium was only 3/5 full for the cup match.
The supporters were extremely friendly, the prices of everything reasonable and the overall experience rivals or exceeds a live match in London at Stamford Bridge! And I say that as a true Blue who was there last season! If you’re in or near LA, put attending an LAFC home match at the top of your list. You won’t be disappointed.
A great first time watching LAFC, with an amazing atmosphere courtesy of the supporters in the home end.
Never was a big fan of LA Galaxy for some reason. Bought tickets for LAFC vs Cincinnati and felt right at home. I'll be at more games for sure!!
The whole LAFC experience was a "Best of LA" in every way. Parking was convenient, but good public transportation by Metro was a short walk away too. Plan to arrive early (and stay late) to enjoy the Fields LA Food Hall (adjacent to the stadium). LAFC fans are amazing! We visited from Cincinnati, wearing our home team jerseys and we were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the LAFC "family"! FC Cincinnati is the latest MLS expansion team and SO many LAFC fans went out of their way to make us feel welcome! Such a rare experience in professional sports, where rivalry usually supersedes civility. Overall, food is on the expensive side (but more upscale than most stadium food), don't bring big purses or backpacks, allow extra time to enjoy the entire game-day experience. With a great soccer team and some of the nicest and most spirited fans in the MLS, you should enjoy a 5-star experience too!
Great fan base , lots of good food chicken tenders were delicious and last minute victory goal to top it off 👍
Grab a friend, grab a beer, and stand shoulder-2-shoulder in The North End! (Though it is kid-friendly too, amazingly enough!) As rowdy as it is, people aren’t hating. There’s no localism or “who do you think you are?” It’s a mutual love for this team, this sport, and, most importantly, this city! This team, this stadium......there is just nothing like it here on the West Coast! (If anywhere in the USA) I’ve been to sporting events for many other teams, many other sports, and nothing compares to an LAFC game!
