About

Lorie grew up in Reno, Nevada and was born with “perfect pitch.” She has been playing the piano since age 5 and as a child won many Statewide competitions. Classically trained, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in Music, Piano Performance.  In 1986, she married Tim Line, moved to Minneapolis and landed the perfect job, serenading shoppers at the piano for Dayton’s.  It was from here that Midwestern fans took notice of her musical talent and style and her career took off.  Since then, she has recorded 44 CDs and has published 39 books of music.  She has sold 6 million albums and has toured the United States for 24 years, performing on over 2000 stages.  Lorie has never taken one business course, but may own one of the largest independent labels in the world.

    Different show this year

by LKRS on 12/21/13Belle Mehus Auditorium - Bismarck

The fab 5 are extremely talented this year. The show wasn't quite as good as in the past, however. It seemed like they didn't play as many songs. The costumes weren't as good as in the past. The piano pieces were beautiful.

    I was completely surprise.

by Surpriseguy1956 on 12/11/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

I finally surprised my wife with tickets to see Lorie Line after years of hints that she wanted to see her Christmas show. I think she wanted me to go with her because she knew if I saw her perform live I would really appreciate her talent. As usual she was right, this woman is amazing and her band or group 'The Fab Five' were all great. She is down to earth and not full of herself like you see in a lot of performers today. She came across as a genuine and a lovable person. I was surprise and thoroughly entertained by her show. I came to show because my wife wanted to see it, I lift this show wanting to see more. Thanks, Lorie for a show worthy of high praise and full of Christmas spirit. God bless you, your family and group for the upcoming year. We will be back next year.

    Great event...great venue

by CoachLumpy on 12/10/13Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

Lorie Line concerts were a tradition some years back and we just got out of the habit, trying some other holiday events and not realizing what we missed. It was very special and the first time we had attended anything at the Bursville PAC...both were memorable.

Lorie Line is very talented I loved the show very much. She could skip the unnecessary dancing by husband and instrumentalists, very amateurish

    Fun show but...

by JennSonnek on 12/17/12Verizon Wireless Center - Mankato

The show was very good. The dancing was a little cheesy for a piano concert. The seating was a disaster at the Verizon Wireless Center and I probably won't go to another concert there. We got "upgraded" from the 7th row to the 2nd from the last. None of the seats were marked except 1 and 8. A lot of older people so they couldn't figure out where to sit.

    Lori Line was truely inspiring!!!

by NMA4 on 12/17/12Chester Fritz Auditorium - Grand Forks

This was my children's first time to see Lori! They can't wait to go again! We hope she tours for many more years. Mom and I saw her during her Intimate Series last spring in Roseau, MN. Grand Forks is only 2 hours away so we dicided to go to the Christmas show. We have always wanted to go. This year was our big chance. We are so glad we did. The CD ahs already been played about 47 times since Saturday.

    Seemed fun for everyone there.

by guywithabeard on 12/8/12Verizon Wireless Center - Mankato

I had not seen here show for years and it was not as I remembered. There was something for everyone. Talented young musicians were wonderful. I wish them well in there careers. There was serious professional music and then there was just plain fun. Good job Lorie and Santa.

For being a well regarded pianist, the show fell short on many levels. The music was less than inventive, the skits and dancing were amateur at best. I expected to hear lovely piano pieces, but heard none of that. The fab five took away from the piano versus adding to the show. I was embarassed for the musicians.

    Lorie Line was disappointing

by Disappointed51 on 12/3/12Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

I saw Lorie Line a few years back and it was awesome. Her show was a perfect Christmas Show. Plenty of musicians and lots of singing. This year, not a lot of Christmas music, at least that I recognized and 5 musicians. Set was disappointing too. Looked like a show on it's way out. Sad, Lorie is such a fabulous piano player. I won't go again but I think I got spoiled when I saw her at her best. Tickets were worth what I thought I was going to see but not what I saw. Way overpriced for the quality of the show.

Lorie Line and her Fab 5 were fantastic!!!!

by Calmly on 12/3/12Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

My husband, myself and our 4 yr old loved the concert!!! We loved hearing from Lorie regarding how she thought of different show ideas and thoroughly enjoyed the introductions and music of the Fab 5. The drum player solo was unbelievable!!!! The kids 12 days of Christmas piece was great as always!!! A great show every year! We enjoy Tim's humor as well!!!

    Past concerts have been better

by thetah on 12/3/12Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

I am a big Lorie Line fan but her winter concert this year just felt a little "off." I wasn't crazy about her music choices and the only band member that I thought was outstanding was her violin player. The dancing was a little corny and I'm not sure about the choice of outfits throughout the presentation. There were no usual encores at the end of the show and things felt rushed, especially at the end. After the concert, we went out for something to eat and ran into another couple that attended this same concert who felt the same way. Not Lorie's best. I must say, though, that the set and lighting were magnificent. Our seats were wonderful and the venue was great. I felt that the cello was too loud at times and annoying.

    Unusual, creative but slightly disappointing

by Kremer on 12/3/12Burnsville Performing Arts Center - Burnsville

While I cannot give Lorie a bad rating because she has such an amazing talent, the show did leave me wishing for more traditional Christmas tunes, especially since it is titled "Immanuel". I understand after doing a holiday show for so many years, you want to mix it up and bring something new and fresh to the fans, but the dance numbers were a little hokey. The Fab 5 ARE AMAZING especially given their young ages. The highlight for me was The 12 Days of Christmas with the kids participating. 'Santa' managed that event wonderfully. So, I still give the show 4 stars and recommend it, but be prepared for more unusual holiday songs.
