About

Lorie grew up in Reno, Nevada and was born with “perfect pitch.” She has been playing the piano since age 5 and as a child won many Statewide competitions. Classically trained, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in Music, Piano Performance.  In 1986, she married Tim Line, moved to Minneapolis and landed the perfect job, serenading shoppers at the piano for Dayton’s.  It was from here that Midwestern fans took notice of her musical talent and style and her career took off.  Since then, she has recorded 44 CDs and has published 39 books of music.  She has sold 6 million albums and has toured the United States for 24 years, performing on over 2000 stages.  Lorie has never taken one business course, but may own one of the largest independent labels in the world.

Lorie Line & Her Fab Five Fizzled

    by JHJH1 on 11/21/12STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - Ames

I was really disappointed in the show. Bought tickets expecting to hear lots of Christmas music and there was very little. Lorie is talented and so are her musicians but the concert didn't do anything for Christmas Spirit. I really thought she was overpriced as far what we received. Thanks!

I have attended Lorie Line concerts for close to 10 years. It has become an annual tradition for my family. I will have to say in the past two years I have been disappointed in the lack of traditional/familiar Christmas songs. I also really miss the vocalists that Lorie LIne has had in the past. It feels like something is missing. All that said, she is a wonderful pianist and the Fab Five are great too. I'm sure we will be back next year.

We have been going to Lori Lines concerts for many years, but probably will not continue to go. We did not think her clothes choices were in keeping with the Immanuel projected concert, especially the black skinney tights and the black hats. - nor were some of the music selections. We certainly did enjoy Claire and her rendition of orange blossom special. Did also enjoy the musicians...a very talented group.

Lori Line put on an outstanding performance at the Bismarck concert December 20th. My wife and I loved it.

    Lori Line--simple straight forward concert.

    by 111846 on 11/23/11STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - Ames

Much reduced production from previous years. Didn't really play a lot of Christmas music, we were disappointed in that aspect. We've been going to her Christmas Concerts for 16 years--it jump starts the season for us. The music and her musicians were excellent, it was just......different. It didn't have the magic in the air that she can create with her arrangements of Christmas Carols. This was more of a generic concert as far as the content, well played, still worth the price of admission.....just not Christmas.

Sorry this show just didn't do it for me.

by Jerlynia on 11/22/11STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - Ames

I have been to several of Lorie's shows and have enjoyed all...but not this one. I love Christmas music and with all the classical music she put into it I could hardly recognize a song...in fact only recognized 3 of them. I didn't care for the little "jig" that the Fab 5 danced to break up the show. Sorry but I was really disappointed.

    Lorie Line show always original!

by alwaysinlineforline on 11/22/11STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - Ames

I loved everything about this year's holiday show! As always, Lorie's material pleases fans from age 5 to 105 and the sound at Stephens Auditorium is awesome. The stage was gorgeous with her very own trees and decorations from home. The costumes were so glamorous! It was a treat to see the Fab 5 doing some dancing and even the group caroling at the close of the show. The kids were thrilled to get the chance to dress up in the "Twelve Days of Christmas"skit. What a hoot! This group really gets the audience involved and everyone leaves the show with a huge smile. The ONLY drawback was trying to get into Stephens Auditorium parking lot because apparently an Iowa State event was just getting over as Lorie Line fans were coming in and both lanes of all entrances to the parking lot were blocked with vehicles coming out.

    Excellent Concert!!!

    by momof3iaboys on 11/22/11STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - Ames

As always...Lorie Line & her Fab 5 put on a great concert!! I love the costumes, the performances by each single member playing with Lorie & the involvement with the entire crowd. It's well worth the price for the tickets to see amazing musicians come together to play. And what a great way to being the Holiday Season!

Time always goes to fast at a Lorie Line concert

by GMKay on 11/22/11STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - Ames

Another wonderful show. So enjoy the different instruments and the way they are featured. It allows you to experience what each has to offer as well as getting to know the true talent of each musician. Very much enjoyed closing with singing. The tones were beautiful together. Would like to hear more next year. I could always listen to more of Lorie alone but also like the "fab five". Great show...see you next year.

    Lorri Line

While the costumes were amazing and talent great and good audience participation-I felt that for the price they charge was too much for the length of the show--either more show or lower price for the length of the show
