Santa Anita race track is a gem; super scenic with great views. All the staff is wonderfully helpful to anyone new to racing. We really enjoyed being able to go and watch the horses being saddled and the jockeys getting on for each race and then going back in to make bets and generally enjoy ourselves. Lots of options for buying great food as well. Overall a wonderful day out at a very historic and beautiful track.
My four friends and I went to Santa Anita on 4/29 and bought our tickets through Ticketmaster. The seats/table were excellent. Just off the finish line. We had a great time and all of us won money to make the day even better.
I love Santa Anita and have been going there for years. I had not gone for three years during the pandemic and so much has changed. We used to always sit on the clubhouse patio, which is now Silks. It was so disappointing. The remote ordering and lack of table service ruined the afternoon. Instead of being treated as a valued guest, a shopping bag of food was literally just dropped on the floor. No extra napkins, no salt and pepper. No one to even speak with. Quality of food was boring as well. Aside from the table and tv, I could have been in general admission.
Santa Anita is a beautiful old track but I feel it's dying a slow death. It was a beautiful Saturday and the track was 1/2 empty. Drinks were way overpriced and the bars were understaffed. The restaurant which used to be amazing is sub par with inexcusably bad food.
Whether you are in the Grandstands or in the Clubhouse or at the Frontrunner restaurant (all glass exposure to the races and all its glory) you will have a great time for your $2 bet. Cheering for your horse as the go around the far turn and into the stretch is the best $2 you will ever spend. Enjoy it with your first date or family or friends.... Awesome fun day as you peer out to the beautiful race track and see the Sierra Madres Spectacular
I always have fun times at Santa Anita Park. It’s a great place to take friends, family, & out of town guest. There are some changes they made post covid. Food ordering is from a QR code & they bring the food to your table in bags. The staff is really helpful in telling you where things are. Bring cash if you want to bet on horses. Since my party got Silks seating the race program was free. Look over the race program before you bet because my party didn’t see the professional picks until we were about to leave. “Silks” is outdoors, but if you prefer indoor seating then checkout “Frontrunner” restaurant. If your debating between regular admission or getting a table, the tables are worth the $20. I’m not sure if it’s because post covid or because it was a rainy day, but the race track was not packed at all. I know years ago the race track would bring people from all over, but it looks like attendance is dwindling. Hopefully more people come out & support Santa Anita Race track. I have made wonderful memories with family & friends here. Hope to visit again soon.
Really, this was a lot of fun. FrontRunner Restaurant! Reserved seats at the glass (5th floor, great view) for $25/person. They are your seats for the entire day. Really a good bargain when you consider $10 general admission to the park, and $10 general admission to the restaurant is included at that price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Just an all-around good time.
From the sights to the sites personnel, everything was 4 stars! Two thumbs up!
Even if your not a horse racing fan, this is a MUST VISIT! BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO VISIT! Lot's of fun, great food, historic venue that is a must see. If you are a horse racing fan this is a world class race track. Top jockeys, top horses, top trainers, top purses. Outstanding staff!
This was my first time at any horse race, i really enjoyed it. The only complaint i have, the cashiers taking the bets are very rude,
My family and I go to opening day nearly every year. This year was terrible, one beer stand open in the infield with a forty minute wait, food stands nearly as bad. Very few betting windows open.
The food on offer at the buffet was very poor . We will not be back . The service at the table was okay but slow .
It was a real nice day there. The people working are extremely friendly. Helpful they do a lot for you. Had great seats only about to 200 ft from the finish line up high enough so it was perfectly viewed.
Our first time there, so we wanted a special experience. The 4 of us had tickets in the Silks premier costing us $100 for the table. The cost ‘included’ parking and program - which we found out everyone had. We had to pay for a pen if you did not have one. The “seasonal” menu was very limited and nothing special, with the warm pretzel being the highlight - we expected more. You order your food online and it’s delivered in a paper bag. We should have just done general admission. The Silks was disappointing. Regardless, the track was fun and very nostalgic.
Gave us a table that was not in row one. Their seat numbering was different than the seat numbering on-line. Oily move.
Loved the table at Santa Anita in the Silks section. Great service and good drinks and food at a reasonable price.
Had a wonderful experience, except for the rude hostess that “double booked” my table (as per her), then tried to give us less expensive (section) seats, even though we had already pre-paid for “premium” seating. “Why is it that too many service-personnel try to take their customers for fools”???
We had a great time at Santa Anita park it was beautiful. The horses were the best in the world and the people were so nice helping us with everything we needed. We had great crabcakes and food. Loved it everyone should go
It was a beautiful day for horse racing! And it was free parking and admission -- a special promotion on a Friday. We had a delicious lunch at Frontrunner and stayed at Frontrunner for all of the races.
The employees employees offered great customer service. I enjoyed the front runner view and gambling experience. I would not do the buffet again.
