  • Lily Tomlin @ Taft Theatre

by lslmustang on 8/5/18Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

Lily was great! Loved the mix of seeing old clips and new live performance of the character. Since I found many young people didn't know her earlier characters, it helped them get reference for the character! She did a Q&A afterwards and was so open and interesting! I only had one small issue and that's with the sound system at the Taft, occasionally she was muffled or hard to understand. We sat in the Orchestra seats on the very side and it was harder to understand her through the speakers. At the beginning there was some feedback but they resolved that pretty quick. I heard 95% just fine so this was a minor thing.

Great to hear her woven stories told with wit & humor. Thanks for the ride! It was a wonderful evening.

by Musicat on 8/5/18Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I’m not always a fan of comedy shows but this show was so much more than that! Lily Tomlin was fun, energetic and so personable! I would see her again and again!

  • What Energy!!

    by 3manxcats on 8/5/18Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

90 minutes of hilarious, thought-provoking and sad commentary on the state of the world. Saw her years ago in Search for Intelligent Life... and she is still as dynamic as then. One of the few performers I would travel to see.

  • A Creative Mind

    by shoreview1 on 8/5/18Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

It wasn't hold-your-stomch, roll-in-the-aisle funny, but instead, an amazing trip into the land of Lily Tomlin's imagination. Witty, some times surreal, energetic, and mesmerizing. Her allegory of addicted to rubber as it related to her father's alcoholism, and her updating of the operator Eunice, now a health care representative answering patient's questions, was, in itself, worth the price of admission. She hasn't lost a beat since her Laugh-in days and remains one of America's comedic treasures.

Experience was ok. Would not do again. Show wasn't great. AC wasn't working well.

  • The memories

by Skimsu on 8/5/18Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

She is always entertaining, brought back lots of memories of past characters. She is amazing the schedule she keeps. I did not know you could ask questions.

  • Loved her!! Everything else... eh....

    by PhatGurl72 on 8/5/18Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

I was one of those people that purchased the VIP package for the event. Was so excited to be upfront with my “swag” almost being able to touch her. Then to have a meet and greet with her..OMG!! But nothing of what I thought it was going to be. No merchandise sold at all.. no presigned photos, T-shirt, cds .. nothing... then we were not allowed to take photos.. only the event people could. So we waited after a wonderful show to have our meet and greet.. to be herded into a line only to be able to get our pictures taken and told we would get them within 24 to 48 hrs... that was the meet and greet...it’s been three days since the event and still no photos.. so as of right now, I still have to keepsakes of ever seeing Lily or my big “VIP” experience... just my tickets..

  • Not what it appeared

by thiswasconfusing on 5/17/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

We felt the ad was misleading - it looked like an evening with Lily Tomlin, and it turned out to be a fund raiser for an animal rights group. It was for a good cause, but not at all what our group thought we were going to- hence the 3 stars and not recommending... you need to be more clear with your advertising.

I came for Lilly... and comedy got neither "Games" were not funny more like stupid ... too much time spent on auctioning items.

  • NOT A COMEDY SHOW!!

by dctbb on 5/9/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

This was a brutal night. As a lifelong LT fan and lover of her new show, I was shocked that this was a show about animal cruelty with very vivid content. I thought we were going to see a one woman show. This was a fund raiser for animal causes-- which is great (I am a card carrying member of PETA) but not at all what was advertised.

  • Not what it seems

    by sunny411 on 5/9/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

This was billed as a Lilly tomlin show. It's not it's a charity event( which was nice) and Lilly tomlin barely spoke. I thought from the way it was advertised she was doing her show. I am all for animal rights and will gladly support but it's not fair to mislead people.

  • What was that?

by vanamar on 5/9/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

I was fully expecting to have a night of laughter and hear a monologue or story from Lilly Tomlin. What I experienced was a benefit for Save Billy from the LA Zoo. This was not part of any of the information provided when I purchased the tickets.

  • Great cause falls short on humor

    by Jeannie3pt on 5/9/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 2 out of 5

This event is for a wonderful cause to protect and compassion for animals. I expected the comedians to be funny, which occasionally they were. The game show was boring and not too funny, and Lily Tomlin said very little. It seemed to be marketed as a Lily Tomlin event so we were disappointed.

  • wait wait don't bore me

by nicknamers on 5/9/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

Lilly Tomlin was barely present, true purpose of event as fundraiser was not clear until we were there. Mildly humorous, but not at all what we expected

Couldn't not understand this was some weird charity game show

  • Disappointed

    by MARKDMARC2 on 5/9/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

Didn't really care for this event. When I bought the tickets, I thought that this would be a concert by Lily Tomlin. In fact, this was a benefit for a great cause - which was terrific. But it wasn't at all what I thought I was buying tickets for and to be honest, I felt slightly misled by this website who made no mention of any other people participating in this show. This was a panel that played games associated with animals. Also, there were auctions that were happening...which is when we decided to leave! Fortunately, I am an animal rights advocate - otherwise I would have been very pissed off!
