I think Lily Tomlin was very Lily Tomlin. She makes me laugh because she talks about things that have happened to everyone. She has seasoned well and is comfortable in her own skin.
bad venue-temp too hot-more than 1/2 empty, she forgot her lines, wrong venue for her. love lily but this show was not worth the ticket price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This show was almost entirely a repeat of her earlier work, with about 10% of it literally a video on the big screen of Lily's earlier work. No free drinks. Auditorium seating. Entertaining, but nothing really new.
We had the absolute best time. Lily is simply fantastic!!!
Lily has added some unneeded sexual material. She has so much material from the past and her social commentary of the present to fill her entire show. This venue is small, with adequate seats and multiple video screens around the venue. One of the better venues in San Diego. Better than Humphries but not as good as Pechanga. Sound system is very good.
She was good. Glad she did all her characters. The ebbs and flows went well. Her Q & A at the end was nice. I thought that made her more approachable as a person and made me like her even more.
Amazing woman with so much energy. Enjoyed every word and not one single word was a curse word. Just proves her talent even more. We left with our sides aching from laughter.
Was on stage for about 2 hours with no break. She is so agile even at this age. I have followed her career since Laugh In.
Her skits were really clever and brought back some fun old memories from the Laugh In days. Ske's super-high energy and very entertaining to see in person.
Lily still has it! Wit, Charm and Grace. I learned that Ernestine's perfume of choice is Combat! Should have known. I forgot to ask how her old co-worker Phoneicia was getting along after the divesiture. The purveyor of percolator friendship (Chad) thanks Lily once again for trudging through beautiful downtown Syracuse. It was a full house, many fans all thrilled to see their source of laughter in person. A great night, highly reccomended as you are not dealing with just anyone's fool! Lily is a high school graduate afterall.

This performance was all we had hoped for and more. She was consistently funny, including updating favorite characters and adding new ones. She had us laughing for two hours --an awesome accomplishment!
Lily Tomlin has kept all of her characters up to date with the times. To watch her transformation from one person to another, using subtle hand movements, facial expressions that show dramatic changes, voice pitches that create not only different characters but different genders, is a talent that no other performer possesses. Her energy level is that of a twenty year old. It was an honor to see her perform again. I would see her tomorrow if she were in the area!!!
My wife and I were very excited about going to this show. We had to travel over 100 miles to get there. I'm sorry to say we were dissapointed. The mic for Lily was not loud enough to hear all of the show. We only got 50% ,although the sound effects were much to loud. We were seated 2 row 1 st mezz. The part of the show we heard was very good.
It was fun seeing Tomlin doing all her classic skits. What ruined the show was Tomlin had to show a seething side of herself. By proclaiming "anybody that would vote fror a Republicain is stupid" She was given just a few chuckles the first time and she had to repeat it again. To get enough laughs to suit her. I would of walked out if this took place at the beginning of the show. Its not the place or time for ugly politics.
The lady hasn't lost a step. At 71, she's as spry and energetic in her performance as she was the last time I saw her 20 years ago. With updated content for some of her long time characters, her one-woman show continues to be both funny and relevant. Ernestine now takes calls for an HMO's claims department where she gleefully denies coverage for every illness. Blindness? Sorry, it's a pre-existing condition. Second heart attack? Well, you should have stopped at one! And so on. Fantastic.
It was really enjoyable and funny! She said she was pushing age 70, but her energy level was amazing! She went through many of her old characters, updating their dialogue so it was relevant to today - It was hysterical! She was very personable and answered some questions at the end of the show. I didn't get to do the meet and greet with her, but my brother-in-law did and said she was very warm and friendly. I would highly recommend going to see her - she is truly a treasure!
What a riot! Lily Tomlin is truly an astounding comic . . . you would never know that the woman is approaching 70 years old. She gave a two hour performance without so much as a 30 second break . . . she performed "Edith Ann" by rolling on the floor and pulling her knees to her chest, just like she did 35 years ago. I applaud Lily Tomlin, Ernestine, Edith Ann, Judy . . . every character she protrayed was hilarious . . and our sides still hurt today from all the laughing we did. Bravo, Lily - you go girl!
I have always wanted to see Lily live and finally got my chance. I was not disappointed. She had me laughing from her opening line all the way till her final remarks. She filled the sage and had the audience rolling. I would not hesitate to see her again or tell my friends to go see her. I was also very impress with the room itself. Lily Tomplin dressed all in black, no costume changes, no extras kept the audience entertained for 2 hours! She showed some film of the charecters that everyone knows and loves from her long career. Keeping her jokes updated and relating to current day politics and lifestyles, LIly is still one of the best!!! If you get a chance, don't miss her!!
