  • Lily looks great!

    by 2grlzhadfun on 2/16/11State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

We couldn't believe that her show was nearly 2 hours long. We laughed throughout the show. She did all of her old characters. Her energy & flexibility are simply amazing.

  • Lily - Better than ever!

by norskheart on 2/15/11State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 3rd time I have seen Lily Tomlin live, and she is as good or better than ever. My husband and I laughed throughout the whole show. It was an interesting mix, with some of her old performances on the screen. We also enjoyed her answering some questions after the performance. I highly recommend the show.

Lily Tomlin was surprisingly nimble and agile for a 72 yr old woman. Non-stop for two hours. Mixed her personal life in with her humor in unforgettable ways. Would've liked to have seen Edith Ann in the big rocking chair, however.

  • Lily - Relevent and Irreverent

by Carrythewater on 2/15/11State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

From her energy, enthusiasm and ability to interact with the audience she created a memorable night. For two hours Lily did all the characters we know and love. She not only did the characters, but she was able to update them and keep them focused in a way that we could identify them and still see a contemporary humor. She interjected the human side of her life, the political, and the social comment that made her two hours fun and funny. Not bad for a 71 year old. I'm 15 years her junior, and I know I could not do a forward roll the way she did. If I did, I would not have the ability to start out with that and keep going for 2 hours.

  • Stick to being funny...it's what made you famous!

by Laughingagain on 2/15/11State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

After years and years of declaring Lilly as my favorite comedic actress....I am very disappointed. It always amazes me when famous people assume that an entire audience agrees with their political views!!! We don't!! Her rant against Michelle Bachman wasn't even disguised in an arsenal of jokes. I always thought of Lilly as a classy lady. Make fun of family, bosses, the phone company, etc., but to name someone outright to defame them has no class. I went there to hear comedy from a woman who became famous making people laugh, me laugh....not to be reprimanded for how I vote. My entire adult life when I was in need of a great classic laugh I reached for one of her movies. That is ruined for me now and I wish I had not attended her Minneapolis show. Lilly, put back on your Tuesday panties and don't lower yourself or your character because of politics. We came to the show with our customers to get away from political rhetoric for one night...we just wanted to laugh at life... not one person.

Totally worth it. The show flew by, and I was sorry to see it end.

  • Lilly started hot, ended cold

by micheleinminnesota on 2/15/11State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

The show started out great. She was funny, she was witty... she was engaging. The whole theater was laughing. Then, somewhere about half way through I lost her, or more to say she lost me. She turned down some road I couldn't follow. Maybe I am too young (early 40's) or is it because I am a heterosexual republican. (She clearly had issue with both). Maybe it was because she forgot where she was during a monologue and digressed never to fully come back. I loved her in Laugh In, I loved her in 9 to 5, I think she has great talent, AND energy, but I wouldn't run right back to see her show again.

Awesome performance of many well-loved characters that Lily brought to life on stage.

Great show, but a bit long and the show started a bit late.

  • Lily was wonderful

It was my first time seeing Lily and I can't remember a show where I laughed the entire way through. Her energy and enthusiasm were refreshing - as well as her flexibility. She clearly embraces life.

Very enjoyable evening. A good blend of old and new material. Especially enjoyed the informal Q&A at the end of the show

  • Lily is sooooo Lily

I last saw Lily Tomlin live over 20 years ago, when she performed Search for Intelligent Life on the Planet Earth, her one-woman extravaganza. I was so delighted that she did exerpts as Trudy, the brilliant bag lady, from Search. One of the things that makes her performance so phenomenol is her depth of material to draw from across time, and she keeps it fresh by drawing from it spontaneously. I think it's a good guess that each performance is unique. Many thanks to Lily to get to see her live again: I want to somersault at 71, too!!

  • Lily was spontaneuous and hilarious

I loved her. She was very physical and active on stage. Wow! Highly recommend seeing her in concert.

  • Lily Tomlin

Excellent show. The energy was great. Tomlin is a true comedian that does not have to resort to foul language and dirty jokes to get laughs.

  • Lily Tomlin

Lily was fabulous! I went with my 17 year old daughter who had no clue who she was. I'm not sure who laughed more. Lily proves 71 is the new 40!

  • Lily is the BEST!!

  • Lily is classic!!

    by Anonymous on 2/14/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Lily Tomlin is unforgetable and classic! She was hilarious! She took all of her old characters and did little updated jokes with them, very funny!

  • She's in Fabulous Shape for being in her 70's!

    by Santorini13 on 2/12/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

She is a funny entertainer. I enjoyed the show EXCEPT she Lily kept letting an old lady named Norma who was in the front row keep interrupting her during her performance. It was funny at first, but then became very distracting for the audience (who could not hear Norma's comments) and Lily (who kept losing track of where she was in her routine.) Lily should have ignored Norma and gotten on with the show. She did 2 rather lengthy 5 minute skits that really were not funny at all. The rest of her show, where she did her characters, was very entertaining.

  • classic comedy, classy comedianne

    by andyAUM on 2/11/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

i had a great time at this show -- as did my parents, my uncle, & my aunt. Lily Tomilin brought out her classic characters from "Laugh In" and elsewhere, told a lot of good jokes, and had great social commentary. The only negative point was that the interplay between her and Norma, an older woman in the audience, got to be too much -- it detracted a bit from the show, but overall, this was a great show.

  • Lily Tomlin is still 5 stars

by Anonymous on 1/7/11Harrah's Rincon Casino - Pavilion - Valley CenterRating: 5 out of 5

She was great. Lily did all her old characters, but what they had to say was up to date and revelent, not to mention very funny.
