About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed the production!

by Outstanding! Rich! Beautiful! on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

The lead characters and all singers were outstanding. The musicians were great. The production was so very well done. The story is profoundly rich in grace, redemption, justice and mercy. This was truly an outstanding performance.

  • Great performances. Poor storytelling

by Sebastian on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

The actors were amazing. They truly did a great job and that was what my standing ovation was for. The storytelling however left a lot to be desired. The first half of the play seemed rushed. Their tempo felt sped up and hard to follow if one wasn’t already a fan of the story. The character development one is used to was missing and lacking. Then the barricades came after the intermission and the play halted to a slow death. Felt like it took forever and I even wondered how they were gonna finish the play in time. I enjoyed the actors and their performance, but again. Rushed beginning and lack of character development with a screeching halt in the second half played in to a 3 star overall performance for me.

  • It was more than I expected!!!!

by WJM on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was spectacular-the sets, special effects, the actors and the music. Although it is a rather long production I was never bored but sorry to have it end.

  • Should have gotten a refund for rescheduled show.

by EJ - Houston, TX on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

If I ever buy tickets in the future and the event is rescheduled I will submit for a refund. The new time and day was every inconvenient for people who work during the day. It was not worth the hassle of traffic and leaving work mid day.

  • Almost Perfect

by Cliff on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen this play in a number of places, London, New York City, Miami, and once before in Houston. I was a little disappointed with this production because I noticed that a few songs that I know from previous productions, were not included or cut short. However, on the whole, it was still enjoyable.

  • Fantastic performance!

by catlady on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

This is a fabulous play, and this was a fantastic performance! Just as good the fourth time as it was the first. We were disappointed that the original opening night performance was postponed because the crew was delayed by weather conditions, but we were happy that we were able to attend the rescheduled performance. This is and will continue to be my favorite event, and I will attend a performance of Les Miserables any time I have the chance!

  • Fabulous Afternoon

by MamaB on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was so good. It was everything and more I hoped it would be. Couldn't afford the regular tickets but was able to see the Friday afternoon showing. It was definitely a bucket list show for me.

  • Fabulous show

by Meg on 1/29/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

The cast was absolutely fantastic, their vises and casting was perfection! The best performance of this production I have ever seen. With this being my 5th time seeing this show. Both the cast and crew were amazing and I wish I could have seen it 5 more times.

Excellent play , outstanding scenographic and scenes were well coordinates and artist wel top notch.

  • Talented people, hard to hear.

by Aimee on 1/28/24Hobby Center - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

Very talented cast of course. Not crazy about a couple of the casting decisions for certain roles Cosette adult and Eponine. Many parts weren’t loud enough and hard to understand the story for a first-timer. I’ve seen this a few times, and not my favorite version.

  • An Outstanding Show That Everyone Should See!

    by musical_me on 1/23/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I have always loved the music of Les Mis, and this was my first time seeing the show; it did not disappoint!! The touring cast was phenomenal. Nick Cartell as Valjean was beyond description of outstanding, and I am so grateful to have seen him as my first Valjean. The set design was probably some of the best I’ve seen for a touring show. The entire production was just magnificent. Bravo to every single cast member, musician, and stage crew!

  • Les Mis - always worth seeing

by bobo246o1 on 1/10/24The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

Les Mis performed by a class of 3rd graders would still be worth seeing! This touring company's production used creative stage sets filled with enthusiastic performers. Some performers portrayed anger mostly by shouting. A number of the songs were sung much more up tempo than the classic portrayals. This is the third stage presentation I have seen. I have three movie versions of Les Mis, the original London company audio recording, the 10th Anniversary concert, and the 25th Anniversary concert, so my comparisons may be a bit skewed. But, as I began, any performance of Les Mis is worth attending!

  • Amazing!

by Jeff on 1/8/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The cast had the best vocals of any rendition of Les Miserables that I have ever seen! The choreography and music transported me into that world and left me breathless.

  • Best Performance Yet

by Abi on 1/7/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The performance itself was the one of the best I've seen with the most phenomenal vocalists and impressive stage design by far out of the other 2 on Broadway and 3 touring shows I've seen. For the venue itself, the bathrooms were practically in a basement maze, and it was a little crowded waiting for doors to open on the balcony floor. However, the staff was all knowledgeable, friendly, and relaxed. It was nice not being treated like a criminal or disease just for showing up in a crowd! Overall, I definitely recommend, and my husband and I are so pleased with it as our Christmas to each other.

  • Awesome

by John on 1/4/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Second time I've seen this & LOVED IT!! Marrius and Val Jean were great! The person that played Javier didn't have a low enough voice for the part but still made a great performance. The woman's roles were strong, believable, and a pleasure to listen to. My wife and I absolutely loved it and would definitely see it again!

  • Les Mis

by Cheryl on 1/3/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

My kids loved it. They want to see every play and musical known to man.

  • Long and loud

by Kitty on 1/3/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

First Act was long. By intermission I thought the performance was over. With a 17 minute intermission, there was 1 hour and 8 minutes left. I left at intermission with other people. Most of the songs I could not understand the words. The vocals were very loud and with the orchestra - too loud. Difficult to follow the plot. Seemed like several “acts” with little connection.

  • Fabulous Performance

by RGrill on 1/3/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

The performance was amazing! The venue's seats were the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced. Crammed together, zero leg room. I couldn't wait for it to be over so I could stand up.

  • Fabulous singing!

by TexCyn on 1/3/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Although the singing was amazing, I was surprised at the strange casting choices. Cossette was a black child & Eponine was a white child. However, adult Cossette was a pale, blond woman & adult Epinene was a black woman! What on earth? We were in the center 2nd row & everyone around us were looking around with confused looks. Why do that??? All 4 actresses were amazing, however the confusion over who was who really took away from our enjoyment of the second half of the performance.

  • The cast was amazing!!

by Jess on 1/3/24Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

We have seen Les Mis several times before. This cast did NOT disappoint! The voices were just as they should be, and we LOVED IT!
