Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.
I’ve seen this show 5 times. This show was the BEST. The sets were wonderfully done and the actors were amazing.
I've seen quite a few plays, but this one was the best yet. It was so moving, and powerful. I actually cried at the end.
I am a HUGE fan of Les Miserables and have seen several professional and community theaters' productions over the last 30 years. DPAC was a lovely facility and the performers were individually talented, but something about this tour lacked the depth and connection I have grown accustomed to seeing. It was a fine performance, entertaining and all, but had some issues. The the sound mix was muddy and lyrics were lost when the ensemble was on stage, and the battle scene explosions were so loud I had to cover my ears and it took me out of the moment. I felt zero tension/connection between the lead characters. I appreciate the diversity in the cast but it could have been more effective if done more consistently. The audience, though enthusiastic, was at times distracting when they screamed and applauded at every solo (sometimes before the last quiet note) like they were at a rock concert. This performance actually felt more like a review of the music of Les Mis by individual soloists than a full production.
Superb production-orchestra-sets-and of course, the performers. We would go again.
I loved the singing, the acting, and the scenery was out of this world! The only thing that I thought needed help was the lighting. It was so dark, I couldn't tell who was singing in big groups. I wish they had lit it just a little more so we could see the actors better. I've seen this play many times in various places and this was the darkest I have seen.
Fantastic! Of multiple times seeing this show, by far the best performance top to bottom!
This was my first time seeing any kind of production of Les Mis. Went with my daughter who saw Les Mis on Broadway. Unfortunately, we were not close enough to see facial expressions which I think would have added much to the experience. Jean Valjean's performance was one of those "once in a lifetime"experiences. The "first-timers"to the traveling tour were easy to point out, but even their performances improved as the show went on. All in all, it's an experience I am thankful for.
We love DPAC! Customer service is top notch and the show was beautiful.
Me and my daughter went to see the show and it was not my first time but it was her first time getting to see the show. We both loved it so much! The whole cast sang phenomenally, the acting, and music were also amazing. We were quite impressed when we heard that a few people in the cast were touring for the first time because it was all so flawless. The scene changes and effects were captivating and amazing to watch. We both agreed that we would go again because it was so great!
This was our family's first time seeing Les Miserable. The entire experience was amazing! The cast did a phenomenal job and the effects were excellent.
The cast did a phenomenal job. The music was absolutely wonderful. However, the lighting was so dark that you could barely see the stage or tell who was singing. We weren't that far from the stage so distance wasn't the issue. I understand that a lot of the scenes happen at night but you should still be able to tell who's singing and see the basic set design. It was a shame because the cast was really talented but the poor lighting prevented us from really enjoying the show.
The show was fabulous as well as the venue. DPAC is a class act to see a show.
Really enjoyed Les Miserables! Got our tickets kind of late so we were in the balcony but our seats were still good. My daughter and I shared this experience together because we both really like the theatre! Really enjoyed this show!
The performance was worth every cent paid to experience. The performers were captivating, the Orchestra was flawless, and the vocals were over the top.
What a wonderful experience, the costumes, the lighting, the voices! The technology was most interesting. Bringing classics to life!
Unbelievable talent by the actors and the orchestra. Truly a great evening. I highly recommend to all. The set was great too.
In the previous review I was reviewing Ticketmaster. My review of DPAC however is FIVE STAR! After the error by Ticketmaster, the folks of DPAC worked for over a half hour to try to amend the problem. Juanita and her staff were incredibly respectful, patient, and kind as they worked within the system to provide us a new day and time to see the show. We will be DPAC customers for life!
Although I have used Ticketmaster in the past and been very pleased, my latest experience was truly disappointing. I had had to change the dates of attendance due to a family matter, so on July 17th (the date which was confirmed by Ticketmaster in an email and online chat) I found that the ticket dates were actually for the 16th. Thankfully DPAC offered us sets for anthor show.
The cast was phenomenal, singing was the BEST part, and overall it was GREAT SHOW!
While I thought everyone's performance was outstanding, Eponine's solo is always my favorite. This actress/singer had a great voice, but in my opinion put too much emotion and movement into the song. I know that sounds weird, but I've never seen it performed that way and I've seen Les Mis on stage at least 10 times! Very enjoyable and I will see it again :-)
