About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • Beautiful play

by KA on 8/1/25Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

If you aren't familiar with the storyline, I would look that up before seeing the play because it's easy to get lost if you don't know what's going on, esp since the entire dialogue is sung. The play was excellent, set and costumes were wonderful. The cast was excellent. Beautiful voices. I would go see it again!

  • Audio needs improvement

by First timer on 8/1/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

This is my first time going to any kind of show like this. I had a hard time understanding what they were saying/ singing in the first half. The second half was better I think it's because they weren't singing so much as a large group.

  • Les Mis - great production

by Heather C on 8/1/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Thought this was a great cast of talented performers. Glad they stopped in Chattanooga. The show was phenomenal and definitely worth seeing.

  • Disappointing sound mixing. Left at intermission.

by VPinTN on 8/1/25Rating: 2 out of 5

My husband and I are "Friends of the Tennessee Theater"in Knoxville and have been to many touring Broadway shows at this venue (as well as many original performances on Broadway in NYC). I was very much looking forward to Les Miserables, knowing it's decorated history. I knew only the basics about the plot. For this performance, we got last minute resale tickets in row U, which are normally great seats. Unfortunately, the sound mixing for this performance (night #2) was dreadful. We could only make out about every 3rd word for almost all of the characters, which made the story impossible to follow. We weren't the only ones, as lady in front of us was napping on her husband's shoulder. It was so disappointing that we left at intermission. Because I've been to the TN Theater many times, I have to conclude that it was the show's production team, not the theater itself, that had the sound problem. After watching shorts of the original Broadway version, I also did not like the change to the opening scene, felt it made the story hard to follow from the get go. The acting and set seemed fine, which saves this performance from one star.

  • Musical was Incredible!

by Barbe on 7/31/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

The Musical was incredible! The seats were not the most comfortable for 2.5 hours of sitting if you have back problems. Otherwise, we enjoyed the show.

  • Absolutely Perfect

by StarNet on 7/31/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

The cast, orchestra, stage hands, tech crew . . . 1000% perfect. I expected a great performance but they performed sp far above anything I could have imagined. Wow. Worth every penny.

  • It was lacking something

by Tee on 7/30/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

The show was okay. It didn't wow me. Glad I saw it but not re0pete worthly.

  • So happy Les Mis is still touring!

by LW on 7/30/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, great performance and great to have this touring so people can continue to enjoy this amazing story. They seem to “talk” more now than I remember, thus making it more modern and grounded, I guess. I am old school, and prefer they sing everything. Still a great show and one of the very best of all time, in my opinion.

  • Such a great show

by Nancy L on 7/30/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen this musical several times. This presentation is well done with some really great voices on the main characters. I must have gone through about 10 Kleenexes

  • Excellent show!

by Dan on 7/30/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Venue was great, orchestra was great, cast was great, voices were amazing!

  • Enunciation or Sound Quality of Soldiers Sailors Auditorium?

by Deb on 7/30/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

The show/story is great. Costumes and set were on par. Most of the singers you could clearly understand and did a great jo; however, we had trouble understanding the lead character especially when he went into his more operatic voice. This made it difficult to follow the story line. So, was it him or the theater? He has performed this role over 1500 times so hopefully it wasn't him.

  • see something else

by Sharon on 7/29/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 2 out of 5

Great actors and sets but in my opinion Les Miz is overrated. I'm grateful for the opportunity to see it. But in my opinion it was very dull.

  • Great Performance

by Kim in East Tennessee on 7/29/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

The show itself was fabulous! The theatre was beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint is that the restroom queue was extremely long. The venue doesn't have enough stalls for all the women. Otherwise everything was great and lots of parking options nearby.

  • Loved the play!

by Proud mom on 7/29/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

My only negative was the darkness of the whole lighting. Never saw any of the faces of the cast. I’m sure it was to reflect the time period but I wish I could have seen them.

  • Wonderful, fabulous, memorable

by Monica G. on 7/29/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved it! Great experience! All of it, the whole cast and particularly the lead singer.

  • Beautiful Show….what I could see

by Ashleydee on 7/28/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

I have no notes about the show itself. It was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and I would attend it again tomorrow. My seats were a little lackluster, though. We were in the section to the right of the sound mixing area. I thought they were going to be fabulous seats. Unfortunately, they were not sloped or staggered in any way, so I could only see the head in front of me.

  • Amazing

by Laura on 7/27/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Great seats-great show better than the broadway production

  • Hard to understand the words

by Joel on 7/27/25Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 4 out of 5

The singing was incredible, the performance was great! The words were kind of hard to understand. Not sure if it is an annunciation issue or sound issue?

  • Tears Were Flowing

by Fan on 7/27/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

The actors were so good the whole play seemed like I was observing real events happening in the moment. The singing was phenomenal. One of the best plays I've seen.
