About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • Les Mis virtuosity

by Lindee on 10/13/25Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

We’ve witnessed several performances of the musical Les Mis and the music itself. This company had clever actors and perfect voices that “became” the characters! Best Les Mis ever.

  • Could use subtitles

by Elliott on 10/12/25Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

Since I saw the movie years ago, I kind of knew what was going on, but many of the words in the songs were not clear enough to understand. Sometimes it seemed like they might be singing in a different language. I’m glad I didn’t bring my 15 year old granddaughter who never saw the movie. The actors and singers were very talented but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they knew the soundtrack and had seen the movie a couple times. I really wanted to live it. :(

  • Spectacular!

by Zipps on 10/11/25Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

We saw the show at the Pantages this past Wednesday, 10/08. The members of the whole cast were Amazing! Each cast member had such a strong voice that they sounded like the original cast from 1987. Bravo!

  • Not a fan of this performance

by LHS on 10/10/25Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

I have seen Les Miséables a half dozen time, and the orchestra performance in this production was A-1. I didn't feel there was much vibrancy on the stage, however. The obvious exception was the amazing performance of the priest in act one. If he only had the range to hit the Valjean high notes, I would LOVE to see him in that role. Bravo to an exclellent and skilled performer!

  • Go for it!

by YY on 10/6/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Top 1 musical ever - great stage and cast. Hope one day can see the anniversary version in person.

  • Phenomenal!!! Poor cust svc at Civic Theater

by Dee on 9/28/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The show is superb! Broadway caliber performances by every single person. Great acting beautiful voices set designs fantastic. The lost and found at the Civic Theater was horrible. I dropped something of value and when they called back they said no one had claimed it and I asked them if they had checked around my seat cuz I had left them my seat number and they said no so I asked them to do that and then they never called me back. So the lost and found is extremely lazy and do not care about their patrons

by Faith on 9/27/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible cast: Valjean (Nick Cartell) was the best I've ever seen and Fantine was wonderful as well. Deeply moving and I would see the cast as many times as I could

  • Perfect Performance

by Front Row Season Ticket Holder on 9/25/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this awesome production. Every voice was excellent, every cast member performed perfectly, the music was as good as it gets. Loved it; enjoyed it; relished it!

  • Beautifully presented show

by Deanna on 9/25/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Jean Val Jean was the absolute showstopper here, but honestly, it's also the first time I've understood Jovert's character fully. Choral numbers were exquisitely staged. Staging overall in this tiny stage of a theater was incredible. Bravo, bravo!

  • Excellent show

by Silvia on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Best cast, the stage was amazing, their voices are incredible, 100% recomended.

  • Perfect apart from being too fast

by Tessa on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

I'm not sure if this was the decision of the show's Director or perhaps the Music Director, but I've seen this run of Les Mis 3 times now and the music and singing are TOO FAST. The music and lyrics are so emotional, and there's so much storytelling/exposition in the words, it really needs to be performed at the speed it was written to be. I've spoken to 4 or 5 other people who said the same thing. This show is SO BEAUTIFUL and the cast and everything else about this production is wonderful. For future productions, please stop rushing through it :( Would be 5++++++ stars if not for that.

  • Everything was very good!

by Musical Lover on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was very good! Excellent organization, Very convenient to buy tickets, will do it again!

  • Bring back the original!

by Silver Girl on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Stage too dark. Orchestra drowned out some of the singing. Missing the revolving stage, especially at the barricade, and really missing the place/year screens. Great actors made it worthwhile.

  • In a word - Phemomenal

by Jenn P on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

What can I say? Les Mis is the BEST. Amazing show - amazing cast - the orchestra sounded incredible. I am still reeling from the show.

  • One of the best casts I've seen

by EMN on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I so enjoyed seeing Les Miserable last weekend. It was one of the best casts I've seen perform this play...I have seen Les Mis 8 times, including twice in London, England.

  • A MUST See

by Cat on 9/24/25San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Les Miserables is a must see. The set, the actors, the music! Everything was absolutely wonderful. The only improvement I would suggest is a bigger variety of souvenirs.
