About

Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISÉRABLES makes a triumphant return to Chicago. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, LES MISÉRABLES tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption - a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of LES MISÉRABLES includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • Incredible show

by Melizdean on 2/21/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was just as wonderful as when I saw it last 34 years ago. Be prepared to get the show EARLY as it was sold out on the date we went and we almost missed the beginning due to the line to get in.

  • Great view and experience

by Ori on 2/21/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I sat in row O seat 111. The view was incredible. Also, the show had a world-class symphony and cast. The best musical I had ever seen.

  • rushed

Les Miserables never fails to astonish and leave the audience with awe. Remarkable performances by the characters. The only thing we did not like about the venue was that the audience was rushed to their seats before the show. The doors were only opened 5 minutes to the show and everyone was rushing to their seats. I've never had a theatrical experience like this before. Disappointing!

  • Good Performance

by JeanVJ on 2/21/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I love Les Mis and have now seen it 3 times. The production had some additional things which were new and interesting (i.e. Javert's death scene). All aspects were good but the voices of the performers, across the board, were good not great. There were some songs/sections that were wonderful, but it lagged behind the prior 2 versions that I have seen. Still worth it!

  • Riveting Performances by All!

by Nellyb on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw the production this past Friday and upon leaving the theater. I bought another ticket for this coming Wednesday. This is, by far, the best production of Les Mis, that I have seen. And I have seen seven prior performances elsewhere. Brava.! Brava.! Brava!!!!

  • Phenomenal production

by Theatre lover 88 on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This production features a phenomenal Jean Valjean and an exemplary Javert. Fantine, Cosette and Marius as well as the amazing company turn in stellar performances. Though I will always miss the revolving stage, the scaled down staging did not impair my experience. It is well sung, and brought me to tears. Having seen this show at least 10 times, it made me want to go back again. Bravo! Well done.

  • Incredible!

The talent of this national tour cast is out of this world! You do NOT want to miss this tour of Les Mis.

  • Fabulous! Must see

by Anna Marie on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

If you love Les Miz, you will not be disappointed. Best vocal production I think I've ever seen, from leads to chorus. If you've never seen it and have been curious, jump on it. I will even give a "shout out" to the sound mixer, whomever you are, you were on it! Set production, lights, all of it, well done. Regarding the theater, just make sure you don't have to use the bathroom at intermission! ha! Small price to pay for an amazing night at the theater.

  • Disappointed

by Bill on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

It was too long with many non engaging songs that became a bit boring at times

  • Not worth the money

by Joesmoe on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

Lot of weirdos in the crowd that made it uncomfortable, the plot was difficult to follow through the singing, better have front row seats to make it worthwhile.

  • The BEST!!!

by AMarcy on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen this musical at least a dozen times, the first of which was in London over 25 years ago!! I know all the lines, all the lyrics, and it still never gets old. The actors and actresses can make or break the characters, and these actors did not disappoint. They were all vocally sound and truly brought the characters to life. I've seen a variety of "Javert's", and this one was one of the best (totally better than Russell Crowe!! ;-) This was also my first time sitting in the 2nd row for any theater performance. I loved being able to see their faces clearly and the feeling and emotion from them during the songs. I do think, however, that this musical is better when seen from a bit farther away as you are able to get the full scope of the stage and battle, plus you are able to see the "whirlpool" from farther away (or up above). "Les Mis" will always be my favorite! There is truly nothing like the full ensemble cast singing at the end....."Tomorrow COMES!!!!!"

  • Amazing and Breathtaking

by Lore on 2/20/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful Story with unique props. The voices and actors were awesome. It was a 3 hour event and it did not feel like it. The Cadillac Palace Theater, in Chicago, is gorgeous. I really recommend for whoever goes to see it, to Google and read the narrative before going. I couldn’t find the narrative in the program book. I saw the English version and I really enjoyed it.

  • My Fav Broadway Musical

    by A Fan on 2/19/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely fantastic singing. Go if you are a Broadway fan, a fan of Les Mis, or a musical fan! "Classic Les Mis." Audience attention captured throughout the 2.5 hour show. Going back to see it before it leaves.
