LES CLAYPOOL IN CONCERT:
In 2012, Les Claypool, virtuoso bassist and frontman of legendary funk rock band Primus, unveiled a new acoustic project with guitarist Bryan Kehoe dubbed Duo De Twang. Exploring Americana and Ā roots rock, Duo De Twang stands in stark contrast to the sonic assault of Primus, favoring stripped down arrangements, minimal percussion, and an intimate live setup. Fans of humorous songwriting are in luck ā Duo De Twang explore a brand of leftfield storytelling that will ring familiar to fans of Claypool's beloved work with Primus, including several reinterpretations of favorites like "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" and "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver." In conjunction with the 2014 release of their debut album Four Foot Shack, Duo De Twang are hitting the road for their first tour, treating fans around the country to Calypool's signature twangy vocals and furious fingerpicking.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born and raised in California, Claypool took up the bass during childhood in order to set himself apart from the abundance of aspiring guitarists looking to be the next Eddie Van Halen. Mastering the art of slap bass in high school, he founded Primus in the mid '80s, giving the bass a prominent position in the band's unique sound. With their eccentric appearance and often bizarre lyrics, Primus was an idiosyncratic presence on the charts in the '90s, an odd bedfellow to the more straight-ahead alternative rock bands of the decade. Ā From heading Lollapalooza in 1993 to penning the South Park theme song in 1997, Primus made the art of letting your freak flag fly fashionable ā a legacy Claypool clearly intends to build on with Duo De Twang.

what an epic night from the first note to the last all meat no filler Thank you all for such a terrific start for the tour
The musicians were perfectly tuned and appointed. We rocked together thru the evening. Every song a smashing success and the acoustics perfect in the posh, exotic, adventurous, and luxurious setting of the Fox Theater. Not a shabby seat in that place, and always grateful for a comfortable seat where I can hear and see perfectly. For a couple of songs I went and danced with some folks on the second level and that was a blast! The concession staff are very friendly and I had several beverages. Easy to just pay with a credit card. Loved that there was one long set, and no nonsense show... absolutely a fantastic and fabulous time with Mr Claypool and his band at a great theater! Thank you so very much to anyone and everyone who helped to make this magical night happen. I was there celebrating two and a half years of freedom of addiction and abuse- and I was delighted that I chose this event! Nameste
Les Claypool and his 'Frog Brigade' we amazing as usual! This is a gathering of top tier talent and each musician brought his 'A-game' to the night! The Frog Brigade music is fun and of course, that is why we came, but they also performed 'Animals' by Pink Floyd, and it was a feast for our ears! This is the first time I have been to this venue, and I will definitely return! I love the size of the venue, because it creates a deeper, more intimate experience. My son and I had a wonderful night!
This was the best concert Iāve ever been to in my entire life!!!!!!!!!šā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø Iām such a huge fan of Les Claypool, Sean Lennon and the fearless flying frog brigade and this was the first time I got to see them in concert!šā¤ļø It was everything I couldāve hoped for and more. The showmanship, the costumes, the weirdness, the variety, and not to mention the fricking best MUSIC Iāve ever heard and probably will ever hear!!! They were impeccable. I truly canāt say enough good things about this concert. I literally left the venue in tears because it was so awesome. Iāve been learning to play bass for the past year or so, and getting to witness the absolute bass wizard that Les Claypool is was insanely inspiring. He is the frickin goat. All thereās left to see now is the Claypool Lennon Delirium in concert and my life will be complete. But honestly, it already feels pretty complete right about now.ā¤ļøšš
The Riverside Municipal Auditorium is a great venue! What a great show, my only critique was the sound, who ever did the sound ck the vocals were too low. The show was a musicians dream a two an a half hour jam session that left me wanting more. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
As always Les Claypool put on a fantastic show. He played for almost 3 hours with his amazing band. That percussionist was so good! The fans are always so friendly and the vibe is always warm and exciting. This was the 4th time I've seen Claypool in one form or another and he never lets me down. I can't say I was really familiar with the Frog Brigade's songs, but that didn't stop me from loving everything the played and having an amazing time. Dancing too much is a great reason to call in sick to work on Friday!
So good, words would not do it justice. Les Claypool for President.
I always like Les , It was great to see them open with Thela hun ginjeet. nice long set
The opening stop on the frog brigadeās fall tour was the Fox in Oakland. The whole house was in high spirits and there was an excellent vibe. Opened with Thela and closed with the whamola. One long marathon show and tiny encore break.
The boys sounded way more confident than they did for the two shows in Tahoe. They were much more ātogetherā, but having Skerik I think was really the best part of the experience. The extra layer was really the icing on the cake. I got to say Shinner was on top of his game. Iāve never herd him play with such confidence he wasnāt holding anything back. And of course Mike crushed it as always, especially the āDrumsā portion of the set with the kid on drums. Hats off to everyone on stage, see yāall for new years š
As usual all Les Claypool events suckš¤ if they didnāt suck we wouldnāt keep paying to see himšøš¶š¤
Les Claypool NEVER disappoints. Best show Iāve seen in a long time!
Great concert and really enjoyed the Hard Rock Live venue. The venue was very easy entry and very comfortable. The music sounded stellar.
It was awesome! We had GA pit tickets and it was so cool. Itās a little hard on a short person obviously but it was still fun either way. Great show, lots of iconic bass playing from Les as per usual.
Les Claypool is an absolute Bass playing genius! Les and the FFFB came out to blow everyoneās mind. If you like Bass centric music this is the show for you it doesnāt really get any better than this. The Pink Floyd Animals covers were spot on. Sean Lennon, Henry Waters and all came to play and that they did! I enjoyed this concert from start to finish!
Les Claypool put in a fantastic performance at the Hard Rock. 1st part of the show with the Flying Frog Brigade performing session style jams that blend CA rock with cool rhythms. Second part covering the entire Animals Album and back on the bass showing that he is a true genuis and pioneer. The bands were talented and the performance was well worth it.
Being a huge Claypool fan, itās not difficult to be impressed and enjoy his shows. This one was just as great as any of his I have seen. The sound was great too. This was my second time at this venue and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to see a show.
Prompt & entertaining! Sound in āthe Venueā was excellent for looking like a big conference room! Drinks reasonably priced & in & out privileges trouble free!My only wish was a few chairs on the floor so that even the ācheap seatsā could have a rest ! Leaning against the temporary barriers is iffy at best
Great show, so much talent on the stage. Wonderful set. venue was great too.
