About

After over 20 years, Les Claypool has regrouped his Fearless Flying Frog for the Summer of Green Tour. Long considered to be one of the animated bassist's most beloved bands, this incarnation of the ever-morphing act boasts longtime Frog Brigade members Skerik (saxophone) and Mike Dillon (percussion, vibraphone), as well as Sean Lennon (guitar), Harry Waters (keyboards) and Paulo Baldi (drums). The regrouping comes just over a decade after the Frog Brigade issued their lone album, Purple Onion, which Tom Waits heralded as one of his favorite records of all time.

Initially conceived during Claypool's short break from Primus in the early 2000s, the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade quickly became known as one of the bassist's most creative and improvisational outfits. Throughout their Summer of Green Tour, the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade will deliver a mix of original material and choice covers from throughout Claypool's rich catalog. The group will also perform Pink Floyd's 1977 psychedelic masterpiece, Animals--a staple on their original run--nightly.

What partially recovered head trauma victim wrote the Premier Parking Instructions?? Figure it out, I cost money to solve other people's penchant for dumb.

    The show was freaking awesome.

by tommy the cat on 10/26/23The Salt Shed - Chicago

Got pulled over on the way to the show and K9 searched. We rented a car which had Colorado plates. Minor setback, wasn't able to eat before the show, but we made it to the show on time To go back stage.. Thank goodness for the food carts outside the venue. It was definitely a night to remember. And we didn't end up in jail. Lol

    Amazing show

by Pignapoke on 10/26/23Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Spectacular show. Seeing the mutant claypool play live is always an unforgettable experience. Getting to do a Q&A and a M&G after following him around for 20 years was worth it!

Another amazing show by Les Claypool and his supergroup!!

by Jnelly on 10/25/23The Factory - St. Louis

I am a massive Les Claypool fan! I drove from Kansas City to see this show again. I always meet some of the most amazing fans that turn out to be life long friends. The venue was superb. We got right in and stood on the front row right in front of Les! The security did a great job keeping people in check that were trying to push people out of the way. They did a nice job keeping the temperature comfortable and the facilities were clean and tidy!

    ….whatever rhymes with eloquent

by Harold OTR on 10/25/23The Salt Shed - Chicago

Colonel Les led the Frog Brigade thru another successful mission! Caught the first show back in July and had to come back for more. Sean ‘Shiner’ Lennon absolutely nailed the lead thru the Animals set (and the rest of the show for that matter). The Salt Shed is head & shoulders above most venues in Chicago. The sound is dialed in perfectly, easy to get around, & having options for seats or GA is necessary for this old codger. Fortunate to have been to many of Chicago’s fine music establishments but I’d put Salt Shed up against any of them even though it’s relatively new. Don’t know why any band or fan would ever go to Aragon again when this gem has state of the art sound & is so easy to get to.

The Salt Shed in Chicago is the perfect place to have a concert such as this. Performance was much better than expected and would love to see Les again sometime soon!

    Tight!

    by KLMAC on 10/24/23

3rd Frog Brigade show seen this tour...grand finally in Nashville to check some thing off our bucket list. of the 3, Oakdale was not the favorite, but nonetheless Claypool and band were fantastic. Each venue to date had a private room to avoid crowds - the lounge at the Theater in Long Island was fantastic and worth the $$ for the crowds at $25. Didn't pay for lounge in Boston, but someone let us in and it was nice to relax without chaos. Final one we decided to purchase at Oakdale was a ripoff. $40 - should have known better very tiny room, no food offering like there was supposed to be and the drinks cost almost as much as the price to get in. All in all Fearless Frog Brigade was a show to see - be cautious of the "upgrade"offerings.

    Go See Them

by Geof McEvily on 10/24/23Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Saturday night was my first Claypool show - first time seeing anyone in the Brigade, more accurately. I had to decompress in the parking.lot before driving home to figure out exactly what I just witnessed. Despite all of the music I listened to and shows that I seen, it felt like I had never heard music until Saturday night. To the Colonel and the Brigade, thank you. First but definitely not last.

    Revelationary

by GEO on 10/24/23Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Knowing Pink Floyd Animals and separately, Les Claypool in various incarnations, the merger of these 2 was a mind-blowing event. The quirky Ska to the experimental Lennon- Claypool Delirium nicely complemented the intensity of the performance of Pink Floyd's iconic album. At times it felt like a scene from Roger Waters in the Wall with the lights and colored star background (like wall banners). I would see this again instantly if able.

    Most excellent show

by Dawn on 10/24/23The Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

I loved every bit of this show. Les Claypool and his many bands are still incredibly entertaining. Definitely a must see. The crowd at the palace was lame and a huge guy told us off for dancing. But everything else was am!zing.
