As an eight-time Grammy Award nominee, Ledisi has captured attention around the world, thanks to her expressive jazz-influenced voice and well-produced albums that boldly tackle personal subject matter. When on tour, Ledisi often collaborates with a large backup band, which creates a full, multi-layered sound that's a treat for the ears of every ticket holder in attendance. Her sixth studio album, Pieces of Me, was released in 2011, and her next effort, The Truth, is set to hit the shelves in early 2014. The album's first single, "I Blame You," is already available to stream via the Internet for free, and a series of concert dates seems likely to follow the album's release.
Involved in music her whole life, Ledisi has appeared on soundtracks and commercials and performed at the White House at the request of President Obama and the First Lady. The year 2007 marked the release of Ledisi's third studio album, Lost and Found, and it was noted for earning her two Grammy nominations, including a nod for Best New Artist. In 2011, she toured around North America in support of Pieces of Me and played to sold-out crowds in more than 20 cities. The years 2012 and 2013 also saw Ledisi being recognized by her peers by receiving additional Grammy nominations. In addition to nurturing her music career, Ledisi has written a biographical book in partnership with ESSENCE magazine and appeared in two films. Through those efforts, she's proven that she has what it takes to excel, whether by showcasing her skills in music or by courageously experimenting with other creative outlets.

Ledisi's background singers could belt out a tune also and her band was awesome,especially the rock guitar player! As I sat there in the audience I was taken back to warm,loving times and I tried to soak up every ounce of Ledisi,but what really got to me was the hot pants outfits;Ms. Ledisi was working what she had and doing it well! But the icing on the cake was when she belted out her part in Four Women from Sister Nina Simone(Peaches) and as we cheered and clapped she was taken back with so much emotion that left the stage and walked to all the people way in the back and through out the whole theater while she was singing to say I appreciate you! I loved the show and I love Ledisi!

Her new CD “Pieces of Me” speaks to my heart and soul. Every woman should get the CD and play it when feeling down. I find some of the songs uplifting!! Plus I love her sassy attitude. The price of the ticket was well worth the performance. I would of loved to hear her sing Devotion!

The band was funky, the backup singers were spectacular, Timothy Bloom was enjoyable, and the voice, professionalism, and energy of Ledisi are STAR quality.
