My daughter had a great time. It was fun and entertaining for her. It's a must for all kids!!
My daughter loved it and is only 11 months. Laurie and the band makes you feel like you are famliy. My daughter didn't cry once. She just looked around like I know this song. Then when she looked at the stage she just lighted up.
What great fun for our 4 year old. She danced in the aisles (along with nearly every other child there) for the entire concert. Great fun for kids and adults alike. Laurie's music is a fun, breath of fresh air.
I took my 4 year old and 2 year old to see Laurie Berkner in concert at the Tilles Center and they loved it. My 4 year old went reluctantly and left asking to go back to see her again. He was amazed to see his favorite musician in person instead of on TV. My 2 year old loved the music and loved it even more that she could get up and dance with other kids. I would highly recommend it.
This show is great for all young kids! My two year old son had a great time. The whole band was very energetic and encourages all kids and grownups to participate. We can't wait to see Laurie and band again.
My 3 year old daughter and I had a great time at the Laurie Berkner concert. The songs were a mix of old favorites and new releases. My daughter was dancing in the aisles along with 3 friends that she had just met. My only complaint is the sound quality was a little muffled at the venue (Town Hall, NY, NY), but as a native New Yorker, I was aware beforehand that this venue had that problem, so I was not surprised, but other concert-goers were not. All in all, we had a great time! Love Laurie Berkner!!!!
My daughter loved the show and it was a fun time. The only downside was all of the parents who allowed their children to dance and sing in main aisle, even after security asked several times to clear the aisle - for all of the obvious reasons. It was also quite distracting for those of us to had to endure the loud singing of the children in the aisle behind us, who were jumping immediately in back of our seats. Better control of keeping people in their seats would have made a fun time, a fantastic time!
My 2 1/2 year old was really looking forward to this event, especially after watching the Noggin special last Sunday with an hour of just Laurie Berkner songs. But that was the mistake we made, watching an hour of the Noggin songs. Because if I recall correctly only four of those songs made its way to the show. Don't get me wrong the show was a blast and we had fun, but it would have been better if my daughter could have sung the songs she recognized instead of new songs off an album they were trying to plug. Three quarters of the audience probably hadn't heard of the Laurie Berkner Band if it weren't for Noggin, so know where your bread is buttered and play the Noggin songs.
This was an amazing event for me and my grandchildren. I teach music to preschoolers and have been using Laurie's CD's for several years. The children in my classes respond to the upbeat music and the innovative lyrics.I as a teacher find Laurie's presentations of her songs to be right on target for children to respond to. My five year old grandson made up his own lyrics to "There's a Little Wheel a-Turning in MY Heart after seeing the performance. That is the best testimony to a successful event!! I don't know who was more excited to see Laurie , my grandchildren or me!!! I look forward to another school year with Laurie!!!!!
My Grandaughters loved it. Even my 7 month old grandaughter was mesmorized by the music and singing. When we got home my two three year old grandaughters asked it we could see Laurie again today. They both have loved Laurie since they started watching Jack. We would actually sometimes have to fast forward so they could see Laurie. Thanks for the great time. My thanks for the pleasure of seeing my grandaughers so happy
We had a great time. A Pajama Party..what a GREAT idea! The Laurie Berkner Band put on a great performance and the kids loved it...they were all dancing in the aisles. At first my daughter was mesmerized (I think by seeing someone LIVE who she has only seen on TV) but soon was dancing in the aisles. SOLD OUT performance and it wasn't even a problem for the younger fans who had their moms and dads chasing them up and down the aisles...even with the older kids dancing in the aisles. VERY WELL ORGANIZED...and the workers were very courteous.
This concert was truly enjoyed by myself, my daughter and my three grandchildren. She entertained the five of us from ages 11months to 60 years. We sang and danced for the entire show. It was worth every penny.
Lots of fun with the kids. Band played lots of favorites and off new album. My kids danced in the aisle.
I brought my 3-year-old and she seems to really like the concert although she wasn't dancing in the aisles like a lot of the other kids. The concert was very well done, although started late and went a little long for me.
We really enjoyed the show, Laurie and the band were great!
Went to this show with my 3 & 4 year olds. When Laurie started off with Victor Vito the kids were ecstatic and I knew we would have a blast. However, after that there were a few newer songs back to back, which my kids were kind of familiar with, but not excited about. They started to tune out. There were older songs ('I'm Gonna Catch You') mixed in along the way. She saved the rest of the big 'high energy' songs for the very end ('Shaky Egg, Pig on her Head). But, by this point my kids had it and it was hard to get them to enjoy their favorite songs. It seemed like we were waiting the entire show to hear these songs which were the last one. At this point, the thrill of their shaky eggs and stuffed animals from home was completely gone. As we were leaving..she performed 'We are the Dinosaurs' as an ENCORE! Which led to another melt down because we were out of the theater and of course the kids wanted to go back in to see it. All in all, it was a great show....but the majority of it did not hold my kids' attention.
We were very excited for this show. Our son knows many of her songs. However, we were disappointed with the show and her performance. We wished there was more of a set, choreography and characters to keep the kids entertained. Perhaps, a dancing bee, dragon, etc would have made it more appealing than just a lady on the stage with a guitar. Also, I was shocked that she was so out of breath between each song. She seemed really ill prepared for the large audience and performance demand. She didnt seem energetic to the level one would expect a children's performer should be. The venue (Tilles Center in Brookville) also seemed inappropriate. It was too overwhelming of a crowd. It would have felt more child centered if she would have interacted with the audience more and perhaps herself or dressed up characters would have come into the audience. Finally, though she did sing a couple of her popular tunes, she did not sing most of them and the children are there to hear the songs they are familiar with, not the ones you are promoting or personal bedtime songs. Considering the price of the tickets were $35 each, and there were three of us, I can wholeheartedly say, her show was NOT worth $105 or the 30 minutes it took to sit in a car line to wait to park the car for the event.
Laurie, Susie, Adam and Bob were the best. My daughter loves them on Noggin and listens to their CD's all the time. She loved seeing them in person. My husband and I enjoyed them almost as much as the children. If they are ever in your area, I would definitely get tickets. The venue was small and cozy. There was not a bad seat in the concert hall. Don't forget to take your pig (for your head) and your shaky egg. Fun, Fun, Fun!
This was our (my 4 year old son and I) first concert to see this band..........Laurie and her band are wonderful entertainers........even the parents had tons of fun!!! She is engaging and very kid-friendly............concert was just long enough to keep kids' attention!
Laurie and her band are just what all kids need - fun music, fun lyrics and energy! Kids of all ages were bopping around to the music and parents were singing along. She is simply adorable and her recounting the tale of how she created a lullaby for her little daughter makes you think how lucky that girl is to have a mom who so gets what making fun is all about.
